what is 600s of planars?

audeze but I've never been a fan personally and don't see why you wouldn't just get electrostatics at that price

reading graphs and listening to demo(which is fine if you keep in mind it's just approximate signature not the actual sound they make) I hate how LCD sound specially for the price they ask, nothing like 600s
I just want faster, punchier 600s, why is it so hard to figure out? I'll give up and buy DT1990 by the end of the year.

5th for no more Schiilposting

good luck with that when half this general owns schiit products based on the images people post

Is the Fostex HPA4 a decent amp? Not worried about the DAC.

garbage

it's weak

>Fostex HPA4
>Max Output: 100mW (32-ohm loaded)

Attached: o i am laffin.gif (445x445, 236K)

holy shit

Seen good things about this amp. Opinions?

Attached: X7S A-700x700.jpg (700x700, 33K)

Isn't that the "balanced" amp that isn't actually balanced?

balanced is a meme anyways

add $25 and buy audio-god NFB11.28

I really want to like audio gd but I've heard some mixed reviews on them, the most troubling one being amir who I respect a lot

nobody measured nfb11 for some reason, I wonder why

>amir who I respect a lot
I bet you own a Topping

I would send my NFB-11 in to him, but I don't have the most up-to-date model. Love it, though.

Archimago is the only myth breaker I take seriously.

Idol trash here. What's your setup like, user?
Good OP.

Why everybody not using hybrid pads? They're same comfy as velour and you get the bass.

Can you tell the difference, user? Did you get it right?

This instead: abx.digitalfeed.net/

should I even bother getting expensive headphones if I can't tell the difference at all in these with my 559s?

The point is, enjoying your music. Not to be a bat.

the mathematical differences between 128 & 320, and then from 320 to flac are so slight it's ridiculous people make a big deal of it

WHY ARE MY AUTEURS IN AUSTRALIA REEE

Attached: 1504444674610.jpg (1280x720, 98K)

>Mp3 sound quality test
>Being streamed on their shitty site
Yes, wonderful idea to discern differences.

>not understanding technology
audiophools, everyone

you still can tell.

it's not working for me

Clue: Track with bunch of hihats, cymbals, etc is easy to spot.

no, I mean it's not playing sound.

Back to my old question: If you wanna use a solid state amp and a tube amp in line you gotta go to the tube amp, then back out through the pre-out and then into the solid state amp? Or can you also go through the solid state amp, back out through the pre-out and then into the tube amp? How are the electrical workings here? I've heard that coupling up a tube amp incorrectly can fry it.

And what does TOS on a tube amp mean anyway? I mean what are the practical implications of it?

Update your browser.

I had some music in 110 or something like that once, and it did sound like dogshit

does anyone else find the HD660s head pad to be unconformable?

the random giant hole in the middle makes no sense

I mean I'm really interested in audio gd, it's just that I don't trust many reviewers anymore and I have no way to demo one. not only that, but for the higher end audio gd equipment there's basically no information at all on the english internet I can find. from my perspective it would be a huge gamble to drop a grand or more on them, which I've considered doing but I don't know if it's worth the risk over brands I already know.

thanks
got 70% right on 10 runs, which is too low I guess, it got really hard by the end

>to drop a grand or more on them
why would you do that? NFB11 is the only, and only thing that isn't placebo, it's only $325. Unless you need specific feature, just for headphones you'd be stupid to go higher.

>TOS
Never heard of it. I know NOS, in this case, new old stock.

I'm gonna level with you, I'm probably a buypig. I just want to get a really nice DAC and amp.

you do not want to run amp through amp. period. why are you doing this chain of distortion?
either way it should work fine through pre amp outs, that's what those are for
you can fry amp only if you connect them directly amped out to RCA-in and crank it up, but that's retarded coloration

can I EQ my parents to be proud of me instead of disappointed

56%

Is it reasonable to blame it on onboard sound and outside noises?

its not about blame, its about realizing for you it makes no difference

Sup guys. I'm looking to move up a segment for both my open and closed cans. I currently have ATH-M50 and HD 558. Comfort is extremely important to me because I wear them while i work for 8+ hours a day. I love how comfortable my 558's are but the M50's I can only wear for about an hour before I have to break. I'm currently considering the HD 6xx for open and DT 770 pro 80 for closed.

>Budget: $350 each
>Location: USA
>Source: Monoprice amp/dac
>Type of headphone: Full size, over ear
>Open or closed: One of each
>Comfort level: High
>Sound signature: Open: Neutral Closed: V
>Past headphones: ATH-M50, HD 558

HD600 + Schiit stack.

Woo audio or Headamp for electrostatics?

Yes.

mjolnir audio

I found a pair of Shure SE215 left behind with one of the leads fucked up (probably the reason it was left behind).
Never listened to any Shures before. Should I repair it and keep it? My current IEMs are Soundmagic E50S and they are amazing as far as chinkshit goes, but still chinkshit.

Attached: SE215K-large.jpg (638x750, 53K)

Does anyone here have the massdrop plus iem?

yes

probably, /hpg/ loves garbage

>be american
>get schiited

Aeon Flow Open.

Is it you that has them?

buypig

yes

Would you recommend them?

>overpriced as fuck
>terrible build quality
>questionable measurements

Literally the ZMF of electrostatics.

Why dose /hpg/ get mad when you buy things?

Attached: aaaaa4.png (560x625, 216K)

Fuck you

What is this Argon meme?

Comfy closed headphones with a large sound stage and good low end.

Attached: Argons.jpg (1500x1125, 142K)

cautionary tale

A lot of newfags to the hobby go through their t50rp phase. Just skip them.

delete this

Attached: Headphone Jesus.jpg (1920x1280, 207K)

You own them? What do you think?

Attached: 1453235422954.png (332x512, 186K)

Not anymore, I use to mod t50rps. They have a shitty driver and there's only so much you can do to them.

but what about t60rp?

that's a t50rp driver

but they fixed it?

So you don't own the Argons? And if they have a "shitty driver" why does lots of companys mod them. And what about the T60rp. I am not sure I can trust you.

Attached: 1459293646525.png (450x720, 400K)

No? it's a rinkydink 50mm planar driver. Why do you think planars and electrostatics are typically ~100mm? They need to be.
>why does lots of companys mod them
Morons like you keep buying them
>And what about the T60rp
All these are just t50rp drivers. They discontinued their original planar flagship the t50v2 and shrunk it down to half the size.

I was the one linking ASR measurements in the first place.
I do have some problem with Amir. Not a procedural critique right now, but in that he believes in Hi-Res.
I don't like Schiit's nonsense with resistor DACs, especially given that they underperform.

>overpriced
Probably, it's a KG design made by Birgir, after all.
>terrible build quality.
Is it?
>questionable measurements
What measurements, where?

>And if they have a "shitty driver" why does lots of companys mod them
the same reason that the top sellers in headphones on amazon are all below $100, cheap stuff is where the money is

People keep buying them.. hmm don't see why that is a bad thing. I remember the Mad Dogs being liked. I don't know dude. You keep saying they are bad but not why they are bad. What headphones do you recommend.

Attached: 1451969912553.png (848x480, 388K)

stax

I don't understand the point of buying a mod. The whole appeal of the T50rp is that you can tinker with it. If you're paying $300 for one, you're just over paying for a gimped driver.

So the less people buy the better the headphone? The mods are around $300. Why would they go out of there way for them.

yes
they sound pretty much the sasme as the etymotic er4xr without being eardildoes

>overpriced as fuck
this is the only true one but is understandable as it's a one guy business

is fx audio dac-6 the best budget dac/amp?

Attached: J5Wik77.jpg (4160x2340, 814K)

you would have been better off buying an m1060c, removing the cups, and EQing/pad swapping
it's actually the worst buy we've seen

but people say they sound good, why do you hate nipponese planars for everyone?

Could I also turn water into whine?

I want to lick her shoes

It's measurably trash but that DAC-X7 looks real interesting.

fuck no

Attached: FX-Audio DAC-X6 1 Khz -90 db linearity test.png (1299x946, 85K)

stop posting anime girls
I don't want to be reminded that I still don't have a gf

Attached: 1501503776837.jpg (316x202, 7K)

that is what EQ is for, yes

Come to my lonely frogposter friend

What the fuck
why did more people pick the wrong answer
the first mp3 sounds clearly better in my hd650 with cheap chinese amp

Nice. Just gonna EQ my hyper x clouds into LCD 2 lol Thanks dude.

No, I don't want a frogposter there.
