I actually don't get all the notch hatred. I mean, it's using space that would be just wasted anyway, and I doubt that there won't be an xposed module that softlocks the notch so that it works like a normal cellphone.

It can't be stopped. People want phones with higher screen/body ratios and to do that you need a notch. What they should be doing first though is eliminating the chin.
