In Windows Mixed Reality you view your programs as if they were a projected image. So it is kind of like a projector, but in VR.

Literally plug in the headset and it'll open up to the environment. Then you just open your programs and have fun. Gotta make sure your USB 3.0 ports are supported by the headset though, had to order a standalone PCIe card because my motherboard USB 3 ports weren't compatible.

VR in itself is great. Really immersive as far as visuals go.

However the biggest con is locomotion. There's just no good cheap way to freely walk around yet, so you either move while standing, which makes you motion sick, teleport, or play seated games, which really limits the VR experience. It's like being handicapped.

The first time I used VR porn was WSS. All was good, really decent fap, till the character bent towards me, face a few inches from mine, and looked directly into my eyes. They have the opposite of the phone problem. People are probably not going to upgrade their VR system every 2 years so they really have to milk the utility of the existing hardware so they can generate hype for version 2 instead of having an entire market of "Yeah version 1 sucked really hard and they never did anything with it so nobody is recommending you get version 2.

These things are probably going to be less like graphics card/phone cycles and more like console generation cycles.

I work with game & software development and we do lots of VR solutions and a pretty famous VR-hunting simulator, won't say too much for safety reasons, I'm under NDA

VR equipment is very expensive for your average customer, but not at all for companies, we buy all the latest shit, get custom-made real rifle-shells with VR-equipment inside, get to play around with pupil-tracking and hand-translations, shit is fun.

The bottom point is that VR is VERY easy to develop. As soon as the average person gets a headset the market will drown in VR-games. The bang for the buck is insane. A mildly amusing game on PC becomes mind-blowing in VR.

We transformed a scared of height simulator into a recreation of the star wars VI sarlac pit where you walk on a physical thin unstable plank and then fall into the pit, for the 4th of May to some investor party. The reaction we got for two weeks of work was insane, people fell into piles, they screamed and everyone just rambled about it

Even if you guys don't find VR "supercool" or worth it yet, most people trying it for the first time REALLY do. It's going to be big, even if it's not going to replace traditional games fully.
