I don't know if it's the best but I regularly use it. Very useful for downloading because it pretty much has a plugin for every site. I use it for downloading from youtube, porn hd streaming websites and hosters like openload.
I only use a portable version with a portable java runtime env. though because I lost trust in them when they filled their installer with adware.

Did you ever try to download something from mega when your ram was almost full? That's why you need a download manager, it also has the addition of automatically getting a new ip in case the hoster blocks downloads again.
