Best programme for burning wavs with cue for Windows? EAC doesn't work for burning, it's only GOAT for ripping.

Over two years the brightness on my display gradually declined. Initially I thought it was the GPU or the monitor. But I've since ruled them out. I also tried a new PSU in the processor. Now I'm focusing on the MOBO as being the source of the problem.

But how do I test for it? I've thoroughly cleaned the board with brushes and gently with Isopropyl alcohol. I'm not very good with electronics. But what is the procedure with going through it with a multimeter?

Its your display like it or not. Before you mess with that or the gpu try using a new monitor cable and see if that helps.

Otherwise replace monitor and/or gpu. Easy way to test is if you have a spare monitor laying around test it with that.

If it really was the board moving the gpu to another pcie slot might help.

I forgot to mention that the processor doesn't power up at all anymore. I assumed then it was the PSU not delivering enough juice to the monitor. So it's not the monitor.

The PSU is fine and all the cables are securely connected with no bent pins. It's either the backpanel board (MOBO), the frontpanel board (power button board), or the heatsink. Recently I reapplied thermal paste onto the CPU so everything is clean now.

How do I play steam games on my TV? It only has an rca port of yellow red white and I have a t430 and t400. Only thing I have it hdmi to rca but those cputers don't have an HDMI port.

is there any downside to setting ram to it's stated hz? just set it to 3200hz from 2400hz in the bios after building the system, was wondering why it's 2400hz out of the box. using g skill flare x ddr4 3200hz 16gb.

On windows, when posting images on this site I was able to just copy the web address of an image and paste it into the file manager's address bar. On Linux, at least for the cinnamon de, this sort of thing doesn't work out of the box, anyone know how I would go about enabling this sort of thing?

i've been using this (old) version for years on 8.1. it works perfectly fine and there's no ad- or malware. i can't vouch for newer versions, though. upload the installer to virustotal before you install the latest version, just to be safe.

i only use clover because qttabbar stopped working for me at some point, i still use and prefer qttabbar on windows 8.0.
you could try that as well if you don't trust the chinese.

Not even paid hosting allows you to do that, google, onedrive and backblaze will delete your data without notice if you store encrypted backups, it's on their TOS.
On github you have 1GB limit for repository and 100Mb per file.

There are lots of services like that tho, static content it's very very cheap to host, specially if you are already hosting files, you just have to send the files in plain text and append the right http headers and it's basically webhosting.

So linux is written in C. I understand that you can compile C code and run it on user level because the OS and kernel are there to interface your code with the CPU and etc. So what interfaces linux with the hardware? I know that you must compile linux on user level first on a new system which generates a binary executable but how do you execute it if it's the only thing on the hard drive?

then on next reboot, your system starts, lets say MBR is there, so bios loads whatever first kB of the disk where bootloader sits, like grub
grub now launches whatever linux needs to be started so that linux can take control

Would it be a good idea to toss my headphone pads into the dryer?

I have Senn hd 598s, the creme colored one. Had them for about 3-4 years, but it never occurred to me to wash them. After seeing the horror inside, I decided to wash the pads.

I squeezed them dry and left them out overnight, but they're still a little damp. Would it hurt them to just put them in the dryer with my bedsheets? If not, what would be a good way to dry them?

Also, what is a good, non-harmful way to remove skin oil/earwax stains from the fabric of the pads? I got most of it, but probably going to need something more.

Using wireshark i can see my computer talking to weird networks and websites, just after boot and with no programs open. What the hell?? How do i find out what process is doing it? I haven't installed shady programs and i have a firewall and i have to give each program permission to access the internet but it's not enough apparently?

It's your efi partition. It is supposed to be hidden(having no letter), but for some reason yhe letter was assigned to it. You could just remove letter in disk managment.

Forgot to add. It's nor supposed to be filled that much, so it's either windows putted something on it ir you have malware that filling it with something.

Lower latency is better, but latency is advertised in clock cycles, not time, so the faster the RAM, the more clock cycles in a given period of time, So the same time latency will be measured in more clocks on the higher speed RAM.
I don't feel like doing the math but CAS 16 3200 is probably pretty close to the same latency as CAS 15 2800.

My PC randomly restarted itself for the 3rd time in 2 days.
Yesterday after a 2nd event I have disabled automatic restarts on system failure. Today computer has shut itself down and powered back on regardless while I was in other room. No entries in system log for today, however there is an entry from yesterday and bunch of the same ones dating back to February (computer only started restarting yesterday)

My anime/music drive is out of space, and I'd like to upgrade to a better solution. Right now I just have a 2Tb external drive. I should be fine for now with 4Tb, and I would like to have at least a mirror, if not a backup. I'd also like to set up a little home server/torrent box so I can access stuff from any device (locally in my house, not over the internet). What's the easiest way to do this? I feel like I would go a bit overboard if I built a freeNAS box and spend more than I want to to get features I may not use. A friend said he uses a raspberry pi for something similar. Do you guys think that would be a good way to start off, then build off of if I feel the need?

Looks like the locks that a lot of tool boxes have on them. It's a bit impractical to do this in CVS, but you can usually get other keys to work by filing them down a bit, as long as the circle part is the same diameter.

You'll probably have to dry them somehow, they'd probably get gross if you left them soggy for a long time. Maybe try going at them with a hair dryer for a while for a gentler approach? If you don't have one you could try hanging them in front of a fan, if they were set down on something the water could collect at the bottom.

I recently came home from university and my sister has asked me to look at her computer (my old Thinkpad T410 running Windows 7) because she said that she can't access any of her photos, open Windows Media Player, or run web browsers. Firefox and Internet Explorer cannot even start, and only Chrome starts even then, it can't install extensions. Every time you try to open a photo with Windows Photo Viewer it just says "Windows photo viewer cannot open this picture because you don't have correct permissions to access the file location". Documents and MS Word are unaffected.

I've tried taking ownership of the folders in question, running a scan with Malwarebytes and Symantec Endpoint Protection, running a scan using a bootable Windows Defender USB, nothing works and nothing seems to indicate anything is wrong. Is there something I'm missing here?
