What video player is best for comparing video quality? I have two videos: 70mb and 300mb, and I want to see if it has the same quality. They're both 720p it seems
What video player is best for comparing video quality? I have two videos: 70mb and 300mb...
mpv but unironically
pros and cons?
VLC is the best video player. Image quality is the same on all.
mpv still has better scalers, debanding, color management, etc. If you use default settings then they are probably similar but if you arent playing high quality encodes at native res than mpv can give you a better picture. Once libplacebo is fully implemented than VLC will be on par.
mpv gives best speed and just works
Judging from those screenshots, the differences are too miniscule to notice at least with the resolution of that video.
If you want to compare video quality you probably need something with average scalers, no color management, no debanding or any other filters.
I'm not on windows and mpv is much better with hd videos than vlc is with my kernel.
Just use mpv.
>VLC is the best video player.
No, it really isn't.
>Image quality is the same on all.
That is a REALLY dumb thing to say.
Uh, alright?
Use VLC or mpv+some frontend. It doesn't really matter
If one player's image is different than the extracted frame, then that player is shit. Players should reproduce the frames as they are, without any manipulation, unless user requested.
My cpu is cooler.
You understand it this way?
keep jerking off to your placebo effects, retard.
I understood you the first time, but you didn't really pose a question then. Either way, there are no other comparisons in this thread except that screenshot.
It's not placebo. I'm sure you haven't compared low res vids using the best scalers on each player. It's noticeable during playback too, not just some still frame.
pros:
>easy to use
>uses less ressources
>better quality than vlc with some settings
>it has a documentation
>active developement
cons:
>you need to know how to use a computer to configure it
Open both files in whatever meme video editor you use. Layer them in top of each other and set the blend mode to "difference". That way it will only show you the artifacts if the videos are of different quality
avisynth+avspmod :^)
I use VLC because of the record button, easy AB repeat, and easy speed up/slow down. Who gives a fuck if it looks slightly worse when you're looking at the video while sitting 2 inches from the screen.
Pro: you don't need to configure it
MPCHC and make a Screenshot from the same frame, dumbass. Compare them.
