bjin and haasn are alive desu

Kawaii/LavMegamix alternative with mpv when?

No, those commits are poor.

Could you ask haasn to free some of his time for his motion interpolation algo? Yes, libplacebo and vulkan are cool but normies don't care.

Is the mpv android still buggy?

Probably.

Should I ask madshi first? ;)

is there any way to fix the screen tearing?

github.com/mpv-player/mpv/wiki/FAQ#Tearing

what does libplacebo do anyway?

>mpv easy
just use smplayer onii-chan

>just use smplayer onii-chan
How’s life in 2008?

I use plain mpv

Then don’t recommend horribly deprecated software.

better than vlc tho

mpv is trash
why would I go out of my way to lego together a video player?
I understand the appeal behind Gentoo and Arch, but this is just a waste of time

Low bait, but for the lurking newbies, mpv works out of the box.

yeah, without a playlist/library, youtube browser, remote control software, a screenshot function, codec settings, and a user interface that isn't from the early 2000's
it works about as well out of the box as ikea furniture

Ok guys is there a way to enable/disable 10 sec cache using a keybind?

>a screenshot function
You can take screenshots out of the box.

mpv is a video player. It plays video. That's what it's for. There's no point in badly re-implementing features that can be better achieved by simply using mpv with other tools like youtube-dl.

damn, thank god I'm able to take screenshots
wooh, crisis adverted
all is well

What's the best tscale for a slow display? Also tscale-clamp yay or nay?

the problem is it's so minimalistic, that it fails to acomplish what it sets up to do
you should be able to adjust the playback settings of your video player without having to install a ton of scripts

the problem is you're expressing your opinion when you have no idea what you are talking about

>you should be able to adjust the playback settings of your video player without having to install a ton of scripts
Which playback settings are you thinking about? I can't think of any important ones that vanilla mpv doesn't have.

the problem is you're dismissing and opinion that's not your own and making false claims to appeal to your own position

stuff like filters, color correction, upscaling to higher resolutions, changing the codec, pulling up ip webcams
the biggest thing to me was the fact that I have to make a plaintext file just to create a playlist

gaussian vs linear tscale?

oversample

Why?

I love mpv!

Attached: mpv-shot001.jpg (1920x1080, 1.37M)

holy shit theyre finally making a settings menu and making the UI pretty?

ABSOLUTELY BASED
i might start using it soon then

oops false alarm. look like its still the same shit after downloading the latest build. unfortunate.

github.com/422658476/MPV-EASY-Player

oops, mistook another thread for this one. Pls advise:

mpv has a playlist out of the box you insufferable retard.

>I have to make a plaintext file just to create a playlist
Wrong.

why did wm4 get fired

Havent updated my config in about a year. Someone please post the best config for japanese cartoons with a list of upscalers I need to download for my cartoons to look as good and sharp as possible.
Or do I need to use MadVR for maximum results?
I think it's because the contributors are weebs.

gpu-api=vulkan
profile=gpu-hq
scale=haasnsoft
cscale=haasnsoft
tscale=oversample
deband-iterations=2
deband-range=12
interpolation=yes
temporal-dither=yes
video-sync=display-resample
Is this still the comfiest config?

needs ravu-r2-rgb-smoothtest1.hook

I miss the old haasn.

I just installed ubuntu earlier, I've never used mpv before, heard smplayer+mpv is good or just memes

Casual MPC-HC user here. Shill me. What benefits does MPV have over MPC?

Attached: 1505529165408.jpg (750x750, 76K)

For some reason, profile=opengl-hq brings up screen tearing and lags like hell, compared to no config which runs more smoother.
What could be the problem? I'm using nouveau, if that matters.

Is it me or is Vulkan unstable as fuck? Using nvidia proprietary with KDE here. Didn't notice a big enough difference in frametimes between Vulkan and OpenGL using FSRCNN to justify using it (using mpv-git from AUR)

gpu-api=vulkan
gpu-context=x11vk
fbo-format=rgba16f

OpenAL HRTF is comfy as fuck, do enable it if you got a good headphone setup

You remind me of people who install i3 then bitch about it being too much trouble to configure networking.

Proprietary filters are an enemy of your freedom.

Active development, works on Windows and Linux, Lua scripts, encoding
I've never used MPC-HC, but AFAIK it lacks the above. Probably not casual-user features, but they're why I love mpv.

any build like bomi but still supported?

github.com/mpv-player/mpv/wiki/Applications-using-mpv#gui-frontends

Does mpv push update requests or do I have to manually download the new versions?

The app itself seems to work just fine but if you enable hwdec everything falls apart, which effectively makes it useless in my eyes. Even VLC doesn't have as many decoding errors as mpvs hwdec, clearly it hasn't received the attention it needs.

You.need to manually update
If you use shiros builds it comes with a .bat file that fetches updates for you, which is quite nice

Thanks, user. I love you.

>his OS doesn't have a package manager

Hopefully madshi is still the same.

>waiting months for mpv updates because of ffmpeg

>his package manager is out of date
>his package manager doesn't let him build from source, pulling in dependencies and building them from source if neccessary

>GPU universe is a mess and is becoming chaos.
>Poor madshi can't do anything.
>Poor haasn can't do anything.

what are you guys doing in terms of HDR?

mpv is doing pretty well in terms of tone mapping, defaults are good (although I'd argue not as good as madvr)
Good amount of built in options too mpv.io/manual/master/#options-tone-mapping

HDR -> SDR is perfect with opengl/vulkan
HDR -> SDR and passtrough is in dev with d3d11

the second line should be HDR (source) -> HDR (screen) ?

Do you mean convertion is already working with d3d11? Good!

no, I see I've misunderstood.
you separated the post into different apis rather than different situations

What the fuck is this disgusting launcher? Is tiny dweeby weeb afwaid of the tewminal again?

just started using mpv, what is a good config to start off of?

profile=gpu-hq

>try mpv
>doesnt create a config file
lol

Vulkan is a meme.

Vulkan will fail, foss directx will win.

>foss directx
are you from outer space?

Sorry, I meant open source directx, not really foss.

How do I specify profiles for twitch streams?

nouveau is garbage

>manpage: fix typo

Attached: smug.jpg (1280x720, 139K)

Tell me about jeeb, what's his favorite anime?

I hate FOSS!

o cycle-values osc-visibility always never auto

How do I get this to work? It says osc-visibility is an unknown property. Tried setting it via script-message and script-binding, but I can't cycle values this way. What do.

Attached: 32658066_1804273769639465_553528620534988800_n.jpg (682x960, 68K)

o script-binding osc/visibility

o script-message osc-visibility cycle

Nvm, I'm fucking retarded. Been trying to get it to work with a profile that has osc=no in it's config.
Thanks anons.

how to change headphone audio balance ( with --af=lavfi )?
mpv.io/manual/master/#audio-filters

Is 120hz the best refresh rate?

Yes, multiple of 24, 30 and 60. 144hz is a meme.

Is madshi going to destroy mpv this Sunday? XD

bump
