Yes, if you want a good job.
Aside from being wholly unusable and unnavigable, it's apparently a decent way for employers to check your network.
Dunno, I stopped going there when I started to get multiple offers every day.
I have always been getting jobs by being recommended anyway.
Don't have one. Current company tried to ask me to make one and I threatened to quit. Still don't have one.
Why not jobstret and the likes?
Agreed.
As a social network it is terrible, like, really annoying to use, navigate, communicate, and everything else. But it makes the lives of HR people easier when recruiting so you need to set up a good profile and once a week play around ir for 15 minutes to create some online presence.
>No
>Yes
It's a horrific botnet, like all social media, but like all social media it can make up for one's lack of connection to normies.
Linkedin is women-in-tech propaganda and recruiters. Worthless.

So, everyhting someone needs to find a job? Ok.
I don't know. Looks like a dumb HR meme. I just give up on applying to jobs that ask for a linkedin profile.
i get requests to come in for an interview maybe once a week
having an up-to-date linkedin is great for networking in IT
i'm employed so it doesn't matter, but its nice always chatting with these people and seeing what the expected rate is etc., its good to stay on top of changing salaries
a random recruiter got me my first job after college back in 2012. im eternally thankful for that. since then i get at least a couple requests to talk per month. feels good, even if i ignore 100% of them. also, almost all companies i've ever interviewed with will look at my profile. it's just a good web presence to have. plus, if shit is ever bad, you will always have recruiters searching for you and reaching out.
Too many female and pajeet recruiters, agree
>Current company tried to ask me to make one and I threatened to quit.
You sound like a quality employee /s
>recruiters are bad
i thought you guys liked making money
Usually recruiter make money get new workers, making you need convence to reclutes, means add common technologies years experience and education background.
I never login to my Linkedin. I personally find it a waste of time.
I only have it because people keep asking for it.

Recruteirs makes a lot money.
>Recruteirs makes a lot money.
pajeet recruiter detected
we literally need more people like him. preferably millions more
My company has become worse. They have this "Everyonesocial" thingy now. There's even a score on who postes how much about thr company on social media.
>HR asking me why I haven't signed up yet
>I'm here for coding not for marketing
>..But every
>I don't care.
I'm glad I have two offers at hand and don't have to be afraid of getting fired.
No Linkdedin. I have no Internet presence
>I have always been getting jobs by being recommended
wow, i can smell you from here Kevin
is that way faggot
Same situation here. Boss knows I'd take two weeks notice over signing up for the social memedia shlock. He still "has to ask," once in a while. I've never been on social media of any kind and won't start now. Hire some pajeets to upboat your bullshit if you want man, i'm here to write code and make sure deployment isn't a fucking disaster. Marketing is way below my paygrade.
It's totally fucking worthless. I hate having one, never use it.
All it does it make it easier for people to google your name and find out your entire life in one click. Before linkdn it was pretty hard to get info on me.
I'm not really sure what you mean.
You're in a forum full of NEETs and Stallman worshippers. As long as they get their tendies.

>Do you need a linkedin profile?
No, but if you have a real job, your boss will expect you have one so he can network you and creep despite you rarely using it.
> Is it helpful at all?
Not if you're looking for work or to move up. I used to get hammered hard by headhunters and other poachers, but when actually tried interacting with them, these assholes didn't have any work or they were all hunting for one or two major shops in the in the area.
