I get waaay slower download speeds on a regular HDD compared to an SSD... on a SSD I get 13MB/s while on the HDD I get half that

A friend has been using two okish 1080 and 1200 monitors for like 10 or more years, but I am going to gift him a monitor. I saw the Samsung U32H850, which is a QLED monitor, and as he does some image edition for websites or the newspapers, he needs something with accurate colors. The monitor is 550€ where I live, is there a better alternative? I don't think he will ditch these two monitors for something smaller than a 4k 32", so something that big or even bigger would be good.
I won't pay the monitor alone, I'm going to gift that with 15 other friends for his birthday, so keeping what we would have to pay below 40€ each is nice too.

My g400 seems to be getting the loose cable death symptoms.

1. I opened it up and it doesn't seem to be stripped but it's definitely loose somewhere because I bump it on the desk, it disconnects and connects right back, or if I move it abruptly every now and then it does the exact same thing. Any guide to check it out?
2. In case I can't do shit, what's the Closest in terms of feeling and size? I claw hard and this was the only mouse that never hurt my thumb, also need the top button right next to dpi, because I map it to win+d which I use all the time
3. Not a gamer, I use the mouse for art-design whatever. I only need the top button and the classic customizable two on the top left edge.

I'm currently using this one to speed up saving from pixiv (would scape using Hydrus, but it needs a script or something- it's on some bullshit) but it hasn't been working for the past few hours. How do I remove this image from Google? I uploaded a picture (star) as a display picture somewhere a while ago but there's no where to delete/replace it.

I checked my Google Drive and Google Photos. There are no images in these places. The image isn't stored locally either. It appears on multiple devices in the Gmail app.

I have a clip from a DVD with director commentary as well as the normal audio, and I'm trying to figure out how to use the normal audio as a profile to separate the voices from the rest of the mix in the commentary track. Obviously this is difficult because the regular audio in the commentary track raises and lowers in volume when the people on the track start/stop talking, so it doesn't match up. I've just been playing around with it with no luck.

I'm not an audio engineer, I'm in way over my head, and I'm just doing this for a personal project so it's not important anyway, but I'd still like to know if this is even possible and if so how.

Thursday/Friday afternoon - Backup data volumes/OS drive.

Saturday morning - install new server os/drivers/applications. Configure VM and pass thru new data volumes from host to VM. Load old Server os & client backups to new VM from backup.

Saturday afternoon - Monday - Restore Data volumes from backup.
So when it's all done my data will be bit rot safe, my client pc's will still backup just as they did before the upgrade/change, existing users will still be able to access data just as they did before so no having to fool with changing permissions on bunch of shares/etc.

How do I flash a router without root access to its settings?

I have 2 monitors, one running over VGA, the other over HDMI. The one running on HDMI is getting artifacting, while the VGA one isn't. How am I supposed to test whether it's the monitor or the GPU, if I don't have any spare cables?

Sapphire Vapor-X R9 270x, stock clocks and bought it new a few months after launch.
Aside from the slight artifacting on even basic stuff, it still runs gaymes just fine, which is what's kinda annoying.

Can't Remote Desktop into a Server 2012R2 box on my lan. This box is a plain jane install, no roles/features added. I enabled remote desktop, added my user account to allowed list, enabled RDP ports in the windows firewall so it should work. I can RD from the 2012 R2 box to my windows 7 box fine but not the other way round. From the Windows 7 box I can rd into any other computer on my lan, except the 2012 R2 box. So WTF?. Google all seems to say, enable firewall ports on 2012 R2, well I did that and still no luck.

It's not always possible to kill ads. Sometimes you just have to resort to doing it on an app-by-app basis, like browser pluggins and alt versions of youtube.

How can I tell if my modem if bottle necking me? I have a modem rated for 172 Mbps and I have xfinity.

The other guy is extremely more wrong, unless you bought a super shitty generic one. But with SSDs you get the most benefit putting your OS on it, followed by your programs. Media and actual files don't matter much, and games mostly only gain improved loading times. I'd stick your my documents and desktop folders on the HDD. Your backups should be on a physically separate device, like somewhere else on the network, but of the two the HDD would be the more logical choice.

Forget dns, you could literally be connected to HIS wifi, with him retransmitting the actual connection but monitoring and intercepting the shit that you do. VPN is pretty much the only solution until WPA3 becomes common.

Well unless you like re-ripping/downloading media I'd get a os with some robust file scanning/check summing ability (aka bit-rot protection). ZFS//Refus are your only two options. Yeah you could restore from backup but in this day of several TB collections you really don't want to do that unless your hdd has died. Cause hell restoring almost 12TB via GB lan in one go will take a while to do. Then you got the risk of a bad file (s) getting backed up along with the good data. So then your whole backup plan is worthless cause the restored data would be bad to. Best to nip it all from the start (main server)

I'm trying to install Steam using Wine and Lutris, but it can't seem to connect to the internet. Launching the Lutris runner version of wine steam causes the error "Steam.exe(main exception): To run Steam, you must first connect to the internet". Running Steam through a custom wine launcher in Lutris gives me the error "Steam needs to be online to update. Please confirm your network connection and try again" (this error also occurs when running Steam.exe in my system's version of wine). For the record, I can successfully install Steam, it just wont update when I launch it.

I ran the custom launcher version of Steam in a terminal (couldn't get the runner version of it to run in a terminal) and got this output:

cpu temperatures? how hard of a worry are we talking. I'd say more like 85-90+ but it depends on your model and whether or not your fans have begun kicking in yet. Also your some laptop hdd's have far lower max temp requirements so check that too.

You can also try fucking up using their preferred remote tools until they get to TeamViewer. It displays a potential-scam warning if an IP from India connects to you. So either you get to act suspicious when they comes up, or they will have you connect to them first and then switch sides, which bypasses the warning -- and also gives you at least a few seconds to download the scammer's files or upload and run malware before he kicks you out.
