Why aren't you using LTO tapes to back up all your data?

Because FUCK backup exec

bump

Because usb3 is too slow for LTO and that's all I've got. Because even used LTO drives are way too expensive.

The drives are expensive.

>usb3
There aren't any tape drives that you use with USB...
>used LTO drives
No. They cost from $200 to $600. They're literally dirt cheap.

Bup for deduplication; gpg for encryption; Gooogle Coldline for storage.

So then how do I hook it up with 0 effort?

Watching the tape library robot at work do its thing is comfy as fuck

That's still $200-600 more than a few cheap USB sticks and only backing up the portion of my data that can't be easily redownloaded.

when will i be able to use scotch tape

I've actually been meaning to get an LTO-5 drive for a while now

are there tape drives of a small form factor these days

>costs more than an apartment
>dirt cheap

Remember, neetbux go pretty far when you have no expenses.

not a good point
if we relied slow, low capacity cassette tapes and compensated with our terathreads and gigarams we could have a new golden age of computing

tiny binaries

triumph of the algorithm

precompute nothing, generate utopia

>Tfw ywn have a comfy butler robot sorting through tapes

wow LTO is lit!

>more than apartment
nigga what? you from detroit or something?

I use hard drives
