What Movies/Series does Jow Forums recommend?
Movies/Series
The Big Bang Theory, it's pretty good science and tech jokes and it's like how I am with my friends you know? And it's 11 seasons now or something - it wouldn't be on for so long if it wasn't good, right? lol
Halt And Catch Fire
Kung Fury
youtube.com
The Orville
The expanse
Pretty cool at the start. Did they get rid of the whiny bitches? They're so annoying.
Jow Forums has no recommendations because television shows and movies are passive activities that serve little purpose other than to provide cheap endorphins and brain rot

computers in generic movies: 85% macs, a few times non-apple laptops. phones are usually iPhone or other Android flagship, depending on the sponsor.
whoami: IBM Thinkpad
German precision.
Blackish.
I thought this was pretty gay. Like 2 minutes in it had a cringy 12meg pipe mary-sue grill, and I lost it when they dumped the IBM bios by having another computer read it, and then output the data to a fucking breadboard with LEDs so they could write it on a piece of paper so they could then type it into the computer that was outputting the data onto the LEDs.
the ending is quite relatable for the average Jow Forums user too
Holy shit.

Neon Genesis Evangelion

Pirates of Silicon Valley

The Social Network
The Fifth Estate
Citizenfour
It totally flips the karate kid and makes Daniel out to have been the real douchebag and Johnny to have been the good guy that just got caught up in some bad shit. I loved it because I'm an 80s kid and I kinda always saw Johnny as the real protagonist so seeing them actually turn it into that made me really happy. I'm really hoping it gets a second season because they ended the first one on kind of a "hoooooly shit" scene. I especially love the way Johnny takes this little whiney sjw faglord and turns him into an alpha dog badass. Though I kinda see the second season undoing that which makes me sad.

Literally the only similarity between Shirase and Lain is that they have MCs who are hacking gods. The computers in Lain are just for plot/aesthetics anyways; it's themes are more focused on communication, connection, humanity, reality, etc. but not computers specifically.
If your comparing the two you must seriously not understand Lain at even the conceptual level. literally

I legitimately think it's a pretty funny show. Annoying fans, yes. But the show itself isn't so bad.
None of you god damned plebeians on this god forsaken Zimbabwean tea leaf reading website ever recommend Six Feet Under and it makes me sad
Sherlock
Star Trek The Next Generation is basically required viewing.
