Would you grandma be able to install gentoo?

It'd be tricky, as she died over ten years ago.

probably not with her parkinsons/dementia

Not with all those dicks in her mouth.

I don't get it

Explaining jokes always makes them better. It was an ironic (and admittedly stupid) Jow Forums-shocking response to

What if there is no irony, sarcasm and cynism in IT

wtf

I was at that same conference.
Please be one of those albanian chicks

Nah one of my grandparents is dead and the other has pretty bad dementia so would probably go away then come back and forget what the fuck she was even doing.

So duckduckgo is only good for searching for porn...

Lived with my grandma for 9 years. She kicked me out this year and now she's dying.

It's certainly not any good for regular searches, IXQuick isn't any good either.
Fucking Botnet, why are you so good.

>tricky

ixquick was, startpage is utter trash.

Search engine mask instead of search result compiler, what the fuck were they thinking...

just turn on safe mode and it's great

My grandpa uses Debian on his main laptop. He's 89 years old. He used to work for IBM, and then for Motorola. He's fairly tech literate but doesn't give a damn about the internet aside from Startpage, YouTube, and emails. He also runs his own email server off an old Pentium 3 machine running Slackware.

Stupid old people choose to be stupid.

>if you're not tech literate, you're stupid
Imagine actually believing that knowledge of technology is the only thing that matters. Meanwhile, the same people on Jow Forums and yourself making fun of tech illiterates and old people are undoubtedly ignorant in many aspects of their lives, from biology to mathematics to literature and to whatever else, etc.

literature spawns out of laptops nowadays - technology
supercomputers are being built for mathematicians - technology
GMOs, pharma, all calculated on supercomputers - technology
cars are designed on computers nowadays, modern cars contain massive amounts of computers as well - technology

Ignoring this is even more ignorant but a widespread phenomena in society. People trust their computer when it shows them some pixels that dictate their life, e.g. the bank balance.
Tech illiteracy is some form of life illiteracy nowadays.

Hate to say it but this.

yandex is much better for porn
>inb4 botnet
I unironically use it exclusively for porn

Certainly not. I don't even thinks she knows how to operate a DVD player properly.

bruh she be calling my line at work "it says no signal, it was working earlier", S M H .

tech illiteracy is going to die out, since technology is becomign more and more wide spread, yet tech literaccy =/= tech competence

Yes actually. My grandma actually was one of those ''muh women programmers'' from the 70's in Cuba and worked with USSR pplz

Well that'd be absolutely fucking fantastic.

>that guy that said "install gentoo" when asking a question

Normies can't figure out why they should update their androids and applefags only update theirs in belief of Apple's greater good. I think the illiteracy is here to stay.

Would she be able to mentally? Yes. Would she take the time to do so? No, probably not.

Grandma died a month ago so no. Great aunt (her sister) died a year ago, maybe if asked a year ago. She was one of the first female IBM programing administrators for a good reason.

I wish
>tfw no qt albanian gf who is into FOSS

would you design diverse communities with her?

Startpage literally just gives you the google results.
