24bit audio is a meme.

how and why

What makes you say that?

Nobody is saying you need to listen to 24bit audio sources, it is overhead for processing from getting fucked over in 16bit

It's a meme for anything other than audio/media production

muh noise floor

This.
>capture and processing at 24bit
>processing artifacts are pushed to below the noise floor
>convert to 16bit (with dither) for release
comfy

Pretty much this. If you need to process samples while retaining good sound quality it is a must, but in the end product (192-320kbps mp3) it doesn't really matter

>not using 32 bit

you're not in a studio, kid

Bet most people still adjust the volume using windows' volume mixer

How's that bit depth going for you?

Actually 32 bit doesn't even provide any improvement, both in audible and inaudible terms. I do use 32 bit because my DAC allows it and because built in Windows 10 UAC 2.0 driver doesn't even allow me to change to 24.
Not that it really matters anyway, it's not doing any harm, just redundant.

there is an obvious audible difference between 16 and 24 bit, you fucking retard

if that's the case then your shit is broken

lmao

16 bit literally doesn't cover the entire dynamic range of human hearing.
>muh dithering
Lmao these are the same people that defend TV manufacturers using 8-bit+FRC panels instead of 10-bit for HDR.

>studio quality
>3.5mm
hahahahahaha

yes it does

bluetooth a2dp will save us

Might as well donate your stapes to deaf babies if you're not going to use them.
organdonor.gov/register.html

No it doesn't.

>Realtek
>32 bit
>3.5mm
yeah ok lmao

>he thinks FRC dithering is the same as in audio

Aww, adorable.

>he thinks any DAC actually has a 24bit resolution
>he thinks he can hear sounds which are 96dB apart

Kind of cute.

humans can't consistently tell the difference between 320kbps mp3 and 16bit wav, let alone 16 and 24.

>upsampling everything to 96KHz
Why? You're doing nothing but degrading your audio.

Your interaction with the audio world is limited to consumer, just stick to listening to cd and mp3 and leave the rest to those that know better.
