Mom found tthe LDAP server
Why would you have an LDAP server
What's happening in that pic
>Lightweight Directory Access Protocol [ˈlaJtweJt daJrektəri: ækses ˈprəʊtəkɒl] (LDAP)
I can only imagine how much trouble you're in
I would disown you for that sort of shit.
>grandma bruteforced her way to root on my fail2ban-protected hosted server, made herself a client certificate for accessing my OpenVPN instance, granted herself access to my Plex instance from the VPN via iptables, figured out the WebDAV FUSE mount for the Plex Library points at a secret Nextcloud instance where I store illegal music in a per-user encrypted format.

I operate two AS numbers, one unicast and one anycast, with a couple of prefixes
we should have a /nog/
Why two?
>tfw no ASN.
One of them is my ordinary network with some dedicated servers and routers sitting in a rack, also a leased fiber to my home and some other places
The other one is for anycast dns and web, mostly
lots of VPS providers these days offer you the option of a BGP session so I have a bunch of those small VPSes running a BGP router daemon announcing the same /24(and v6 /48) network over the world which makes the networks announced anycast - the client connects to the server that is announcing the networks closest to the client(most often with the lowest latency and shortest network path). Google "VPS BGP anycast" or something, I'm far from the only one doing this.
I'd love to show some links but I won't for obvious reasons
Same fag
Many of my clients have that setup. It's common these days with "google" "Microsoft" and a few others which shall not be named.
Anyway. What's your background and any certs?
Mom found the LDAP server. Learn to read, idiot.

>Many of my clients have that setup. It's common these days with "google" "Microsoft" and a few others which shall not be named.
Like I said, far from the only one doing this, it's how some CDNs operate, for example. I'm just doing it for the lulz though
>Anyway. What's your background and any certs?
CCNA, CCNP, I work as a network engineer at a major international IT company
I know what anycast is but why do you have two different ASN uni and anycast?
I'm halfway trough the book maybe i should read the rest too. I don't have any networking background or certs i just like how the internet works.
>ccna
>ccnp
You're on the track towards ccie now ?
>What other focus is on the horizon.
>why do you have two different ASN uni and anycast?
I could have one ASN with two(or more) prefixes as well, but that would involve disabling the BGP path loop detection in order to have connectivity between sites, and simply isn't as clean. I also have semi-"production" traffic running through the first AS so don't want to do too much messing around from other places on the Internet even though it's two different prefixes
great book, it's next to me on my shelf
>You're on the track towards ccie now ?
Not sure if I can be assed desu, been doing some sysadmin stuff recently, so thinking about red hat certifications if I can convince my employer that it's a good idea
in general, lots of IPv6 work, both in $dayjob and in lab
you jest, but ive seen people post their SSO passwords in a slack announcements channel...multiple times
