I listen to music when I go out walking, and if I used youtube I'd have to keep the phone's screen on all the time. It also would have to load not only the audio but also the video, bad thing if you're not using wi-fi. Youtube is meant for watching, a music streamer is made for listening at any time.

Youtube still works in browser when the phone screen is off though. I have unlimited data so that's no problem for me
