If i shrink a drive by 200GB and create a new 200GB drive - are there any sort of data from the previous drive on the new one? As in any remains at all

I've gotten several refurbished ones for me and senpai, they've all been beasts and in good shape, for only about a hundred bucks(I'm a cheapass when it comes to tech)

IIRC it just flags the bits as able to written over. The data is still there just flagged as writable. It isn't until you've fully filled the 200gb that the data will be... mostly.... gone.

Does using the standard format feature in w10 actually rewrite the data like DBAN does or is this also just a pseudo-wipe?

so far as I know, the quick format option just erases the partition table but actually leaves everything intact

guess ill just use dban then. hopefully it doesnt fuck up the original drive i split it from

no expert by any means but, I though dban only did full drives and wasn't capable of just one partition on a multipartion drive

I have to change the "pixels" settings to X = 2,150 and Y = 1530 for it to fill up the entire screen, but then when I look at the video file it has black bars on the left and right sides.

What's the best way to make something happen when an HTML5 video reaches a certain time using Javascript or Jquery?
I have subtitled videos for a language class and I have it so that the subtitles appear beside the video and the user can click on them to navigate it. But I also want it to update according to the video's current position, and for the current subtitle to become highlighted and for the element to scroll accordingly, the same way transcripts on youtube work. what's an efficient way to do this?
I know how to get/set the currentTime variable but I have to do this for many several-minute long videos and I know there must be a better way to do it than manually making a function that listens for every individual timecode

Why is PHP so disliked?

I just installed Devuan Jessie 1.0 today and I'm trying to do a couple of things.

The middle click on my thinkpad (x61s) doesn't work as a scroll button by default but it has the other normal functions in a webbrowser.
I've installed xinput and am trying to mess with it but I haven't made any progress.

I also want to know if it's worth it to install a window manager other than Xfmw4? What other options do I have, compton isn't hard to install but I wanted to try something else this time.

Windows 10 and yes. I should note that when I "boot cold" it starts up at my normal speed it's when I restart it takes around 5 minutes to boot.
