At least they still watch porn as long as they buy a government issued porn license

>watching british porn
>ever

People don't care about civil liberties in the UK anymore. The right want to censor everything as part of a moral crusade, the left want to wrap our lives up in state-owned apparatus. There is cross-party support for censorship, spying, mandatory ID cards, DNA databases, software backdoors...
It's not even just that the public don't care about civil liberties, they actively want all these policies to be enacted. The government are just giving the people what they want.

>implying we have a relevant right wing
Tories are centrist at best these days.
Also, the public don't want it. The London public wants it.

None of our MPs have any imagination or ambition unfortunately. Probably should end the conversation here though because it's more Jow Forums than Jow Forums

What the British government is most afraid of is the electorate. They are afraid of the electorate organising against parliament in a takeover similar to the Arab Springs in Egypt.
50% of the electorate are against parliament and the EU, to such an extent that 8 Million of us voted for UKIP 2 elections ago. Because we do not have proportional representation, but a "First past the post" system, when SNP got 8 million votes in the same election they got 59 MP's into parliament. In the same election UKIP voters got no MP's representing them even though the number of voters was the same. 8 Million very pissed off voters coupled with the 12 million who considered voting UKIP but voted Conservative instead means 20 million people who could potentially organise on the internet and bring down the political system with force. THAT is what they are most afraid of, people who organise against them. It is why after every war Britain decimates its armed forces by throwing them out of work. They dont want pissed off soldiers organising. Historically that is true and goes back to the 18th century. It isnt about safeguarding children it's about saving their own necks as they are treasonous cowards that sold Britain out to the EU again

I'm so fucking tired of this shit. I just want someone to nuke this miserable country already. Take me with it too. I don't want to live after the shit we've been put through.

But ukip voters are retirees who keel over at the thought of running

>uk politics internet laws social media child safety terrorism facebook twitter
It's like someone's grandfather just had a seizure and spouted out every modern news buzzword.

You are absolutely correct. I used to love this country, but people have become completely apathetic and I'd go as far as to say the British as a people hardly exist anymore. I'm going to try and get a work visa for the EU before we leave and hopefully get citizenship eventually, there are a lot of countries in the EU that allow dual citizenship so I could live in a better country but still have the right to return home should I ever wish to visit my family and give them advice on how to get out of the sinking fucking ship that is this hellhole of a nation.

God I hate this shit country, please nuke the fuck out of us

>Measures to tackle online harm could be funded through an industry-wide levy on firms such Facebook and Twitter.
Doubt it lmao

Public wants what goverment, the parties tell them to want.

Uprising will never happen, not in Britain

>social media firms

Who gives a shit

Welp, I better get off my ass and finally get a decent VPN.
Then look at leaving this shithole when I graduate.

So when are Brits going to need an imageboard license?
