Is there terminal file manager with grid layout and mouse support on Linux or should I create one myself?

Im thinking about using ncurses and gpm.
Would you want such file manager?

Attached: pcmanfm-qt.png (642x510, 79K)

Yes. every single file manager

What icon pqck was this?

i'm afraid i dont understand the point

if i want grid layout and mouse support i'm not gonna be using a terminal file manager

Obviously not, because one doesn't exist (yet). I will be making one.

Please read the "op" before contributing next time.

elementary xfce

but you obviously show pcmanfm with grip layout?

Because such thing for cli doesn't exist

that's really not comfy desu
mc is best

i mean the point of grid is to see thumbnail or icon which you wont have

The EmulationStation frontend for Retropie has a section for system stuff called Retropie, and when you select File Manager, it brings you to one, although i dunno if it has mouse support. give that a look, maybe?

I wrote a clone of ranger in C for my capstone project in uni, its got some bugs, and im working on rewriting it in C++ but its functional

if theres enough interest ill post the github

I can create icons from ASCII characters. MC sucks because you can only see one column on half of the screen.

Linux is a kernel.

i was watching ascii-porn with mplayer years ago.

ask an oldfag anything

genuinely curious how that got you off

>terminal
derp

btw that's a terrible idea OP, there's literally no reason to not use detailed list on any file manager ever. inb4 hurr durr what about thumbnails, nothing is stopping you from having oversized thumbnails on detailed list while having detailed list view

I want multiple columns of shortened filenames to see more files at once.

please do

You don't need gpm, look up the mousemask() and getmouse() functions in ncurses.

I use ranger. Is good.

use the terminal bloatbitch
