Why tho? Whatever your problem is with windows updates it better be pretty big to risk it.
It's under wi-Fi settings
Don't ask me why

Why?

No. You agreed to this when you installed Windows 10.

>Install acrylic dns proxy
>Edit acrylic hosts file and add the line
>0.0.0.0 *.windowsupdate.com
>Save and click on restart acrylic proxy
>You are done nigga

Wait I forgot you also need to set your DNS to 127.0.0.1

After that windows wont ever be able to connect to windows update unless you remove it from that list blocking updates and its botnet is not that hard lmao

install gentoo

I'm not sure if this will do it permanently

You can't do that in windows 10. If you try to disable the service it stops you with an "Incorrect parameters" error

Tfw I subscribe to the insider preview and get forced updates daily
Feels good man

Only sure way is del system32

Group Policy Editor
Why is Jow Forums so fucking inept nowadays?

It's explained here.
docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/privacy/manage-connections-from-windows-operating-system-components-to-microsoft-services
If you can't follow simple instructions from the docs then you're better off keeping them enabled.

These addresses are hardcoded:
www.msdn.com
msdn.com
www.msn.com
msn.com
go.microsoft.com
msdn.microsoft.com
office.microsoft.com
microsoftupdate.microsoft.com
wustats.microsoft.com
support.microsoft.com
www.microsoft.com
microsoft.com
update.microsoft.com
download.microsoft.com
microsoftupdate.com
windowsupdate.com
windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Windows 10 will always bypass the hosts file for these.

That's why you install acrylic DNS proxy nigga. To have a DNS resolver that isn't cucked by Microsoft.
I installed it alongside my normal hosts file and I haven't had any problems with Microsoft's bullshit since then

>thinkig this will block winblows 10 access to those addresses
Good goy.

Why would anyone want to disable Windows update.

>Being cucked your whole life to the point where you cant imagine not being cucked
Kek thats actually pathetic

>surely it's evil microsoft bypassing the hosts file
>there's no chance that i'm just retarded and blocking the wrong domains

Make your connection metred

WPD and/or DoNotSpy10

>applies to:
>windows 10 enterprise
>windows server 2016
yeah, what everyone has at home right?

Are you blind?

lol sorry I had another msdn page opened that was enterprise only

That's nice, but...
There's no Group Policy editor in Win10 home edition, is there?

>not understanding what "hardcoded" means
Are you retarded

Takes about 5 min to install - just don't download some rando bat file to do it that's all.
