Get DOSBox and get working!

Take a picture of that Motorola chip, it looks like a microcontroller

Hmm good idea, what software u think i should use, cus im thinking of using clonezilla.

Also there's a copy of lantastic on there. Some DOS networking shit.

cant i just boot it like a normal hard drive? im using a modern pc to access it.

get the diskdrill trial and use their deep dive, it wont let you download the found files without payment, but you can copy the hexidecimal preview into a text editor and use xxd to convert it to a binary, which does the same thing. Saved me when photorec failed

Clonezilla should be more than suitable here.

download dos box, then load the files into it, you just need to copy the files into folder which dos box recognises

Here

And that is why you get DOSBox and you mount the entire thing after you backed shit up. Then you just run that law software to see if you can find some interesting cases.

On an IDE drive. I don't have Pepes for this.

Im starting clonezilla, dont mind my fat ass!

yes lol, multiple times.

Might wanna try to copy the folders seperatly by hand, even though that's pretty dreaful.
Else set up a script to try to clone it over the night.

Photorec with testdisk if the partition table is wiped

Since you for it up in Windows, try making a forensic image with FTK Imager

each of them is 200MB? looks like file system corruption
can we have some file dates for posterity?

Attached: Untitled.png (1920x1040, 97K)

okay so after making a copy and putting the stuff into a folder, what do i do at dos-box

Please upload somewhere

id like to know whats on it first! im trying to run dosbox with it.

If he can't even get clonezilla to run up propperly on it, he won't be able to uplaod it either..

lol i follow the steps filezilla gives!

can someone help me get the thing to boot in dosbox?

RTFM, it tells you how.

I didn't meant to criticize you. Just if the system is corrupted for good, we won't get anything out of it.

i mount and what next ?

Launch any available apps, and post screenshots of them running.

yeah my bad, i believe i couldn't run anything because the files where hidden and i couldn't see them in the file manager. the files where called IBM-DOS.EXE and such.

Attached: Untitled.png (633x425, 17K)

Lmao it's the nigga creatures from The Hills Have Eyes.

Those files are older than most people on this board

nvm its actually a ibmdos com file, in windows it shows its a dos application but when i try to boot from it, it just hangs.

ive managed to run some file called spell.exe but i still cant seem to be able to run the hard drives dos.

Attached: Untitled.png (642x427, 11K)

pretty sure you found the control box for like a traffic light or some shit

just tell us what is in SHANE and let us move on

fuck yes! ive managed to run some program called IBM DOS SHELL, i think its it boys! its even got a cursor! lol

Attached: Untitled.png (642x507, 10K)

update: so i believe ive managed to run the ibm dos of the hard drive but when i go and click on the programs i get the error, illegal command

Except he ate the hill

Should had used GNU ddrescue

Kek wh*te boi owned AF.

copy all the files, zip them and upload it here

im thinking of doing that but, i want anons to post updates but i doubt they will.

Sure we will. Take a full dd image of the disk and zip it.

can any of you tell me a windows program to make an image?

paint

lol i meant, what program could i use to make a full hard drive image.

...

okay so im using DataNumen Disk Image

put it back into the trash

OP DONT DO THIS
Jow Forums IS JUST TRYING TO STEAL ANY POTENTIAL BITCOIN WALLETS FOR THEMSELVES

il do it but i dont know what program to use, i want to make iso or a image file of the hard drive, but i cant find any program! all programs that i find export the backup in other formats!

Fair enough user! Good luck with finding cool stuff on that old drive, though.

If you still want to try imaging it, you might want to try a program called Win32 Disk Imager, although I don't know if it will work, but it's simple to use and worth a try at least.

if you don't want to do an image, make an archive with 7zip or winrar and upload it to catbox.moe or pixeldra.in

i also have another hard drive that was from some ancient compac computer, if i remember it was with a custom OS, but i haven't messed with it but the hard drive is way bigger than the regular 3.5" ones today. anyhow its for another time.

yeah it didint work, it wont even detect the hard drive

>213mb
bigboi

DO THIS OP
dd if=/dev/sdb of=/home/hddimage.img
Then upload somewhere, it seems like you don't know what you are doing so let someone scrape it and see what it has, forensics is a whole field in itself. dd for windows does exists btw just a quick glance at the manual will tell the command similar to the one showed.

Tbh ive never done this, so i am learning.

Nice dd is the best program for making a disk image period it's used by forensic pros. ddrescue is pretty much dd only difference being dd is just simplified and works without out using safety features for working with failing drives.

dd on linux:

dd if=/dev/sdb of=/dev/sda bs=1024k

Yeah that's a great idea.

il give it a try
