Because flip phones are still popular in Japan
How are flip phones able to win over smartphones? Is it even possible for them to have more features?
There are flip phones with Android, touch screens and shit. I think they're called feature phones.
People in Japan use their phones for business, not for playing games.
Funny joke, I see everyone in Japan using phablets and young people gaming all the time
lol, I only saw a flip phone once in the two weeks I've been here.
Everyone has an iPhone literally everyone.
Don't know but I want one desu
Everyone in Japan has an iPhone and Jow Forums is proof
Because animu is shit, just like flip-phones
It's aesthetic.

You're watching old animu, they do all use iPhones (or occasionally Sony) now.
>flip iPhone
I always see them on Twitter, Instagram and Line.
Because it would look silly if they were all using these. The anime is not canon.

STOP WATCHING ANIME
Wrong. I lived in Japan some years ago and most of my friends there had/still have iPhones, some had Samsungs but not as much because Japan hates Korea or something.
Make me, nerd.
Because it's the superior phone
just look at the time of release.
That should explain everything.
depends on the year when the story is set. there are tons of anime with smartphones as well
They clung to flip phones longer than we did because tenkey actually works pretty damn well for writing Japanese text, much better than it does for English. That's pretty much gone now, though, I was there last year and it was all the same smartphones as here in the US, aside from a few local Android phones that were functionally pretty much the same as a Galaxy or whatever.
