This thread is about the appreciation of watches, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
You realise white men literally can't compete with black cock, right? No woman in her right mind would settle for your white dicklet when she can have 10 inches of black dick.
A Tudor would, as ironic as this sounds, given the person posting this porn has a realn't Tudor, be a young person's Rolex. The issue I have recommending one is that the in house version is too thick and the eta version just feels wrong. You would be better off waiting 10 years for then to get their shit together.

Reporting doesn't go jack shit, at least not on Jow Forums it seems. And hiding doesn't stop them from contributing to the thread's image limit. In other words, sweeping a problem under the rug does not solve said problem.

Sometimes I forget that it's still the weekend in other parts of the world. Might have to ignore the thread all day again.
you're blocked. don't bother responding, I won't be able to see your subsequent posts (ever).
Asher Gonzalez
Everyone else can though. It’s not like 39mm is huge....
Eli Jenkins
SubC no date is the only one I can think of. A Daytona, too.
Jackson Wright
No. Just ignore all the shitposting from the perma-trolls, most/all of the regulars are still around, if not very active on the weekends when this general is a festival of retardation.
Carson Fisher
sweet, how much will it cost upon release?
Kevin Sullivan
Is the price of this 556i worth it, compared to an Hamilton Khaki Field? The latter lacks AR coating, a screw down crown and has "only" 10bar WR; of course it isn't as nicely finished as the Sinn, but it's literally half the price with the same ETA mov't. What do you think? nah
Blake Cox
$3,575 time to start saving

I feel like is in uk finally get a good deal with the exchange rate with £2560 ESP with brexit
Ryan Ward
Well the H557-5099 predates me by 6 years, so it's not really nostalgia for me, I like exposed screws and chunky protective bezels.
wooo right before you leave the EU and England's economy collapses irrepairably! get those deals, wooooo!
Jeremiah Turner
is 39mm.... too small for a diver?
Brayden Ward
No.
Mason Garcia
Yeah it's definitely worth the price. 200M resistance in a sports case, lovely case fishing, great dial contrast, I could go on about how happy I am with the 556.
The movements are not the same and are now even less the same. The Khaki field recently switched to the Powermatic 80 movement design with plastic parts and is basically disposable on service. Back when it was a 2824 the khaki was a standard grade where the Sinn uses a top grade movement including better shock resistance, materials, and accuracy. Mine averages about plus 2-3 a day.
Yea. It is. Divers wear small. 39 is only good for wrists up to 6.5 inches.
Jaxson Brown
>is 39mm.... too small for a diver? If your using it as an actual dive watch yes. Otherwise no and size doesn't matter at all.
Justin Sullivan
>Yea. It is. Divers wear small. 39 is only good for wrists up to 6.5 inches. Bullshit. The Rolex Submariner is 40mm and looks more than fine on wrists of any size.
Ok, thank you But afaik powermatic 80-based movements are serviceable(can't find the link now, but on a watchuseek post an user got comfirmed by Tissot that the Powermatic 80 were serviceable; it doesn't specify if they just swap the mov't or if they actually fully service it, though)and are most likely free-sprung(source:forums.watchuseek.com/f6/regulating-powermatic-80-movement-eta-c07-111-a-1610138.html#/topics/1610138) Also, do the "plastic parts"actually affect durability?
Nolan Miller
It's not a complex fix, and doesn't require a full movement disassembly. Just need to get some more lubrication into the mainspring barrel, as that's the usual cause of the issue.
Nolan Cox
Plastic is desirable as a material in some applications. Is the powermatic 80 the eta version of the swatch movement or is that a different one? Because that movement uses plastic everywhere because it's cheap and doesn't need lubrication, the jewels are replaced with it in the escapemant.

Just bought an Elektronika 5. What am I in for?

THERMAL QUARTZ WATCHES watches powered by body heat. Do they exist?
Cameron Jenkins
Matrix powerwatch
Logan Campbell
For thermal power don't you need a large temperature delta and body temp to ambient temp for most people for most the time would be very small.
Personally I've never 'gotten' Cartier and have never liked any of their watches.
Jacob Jones
Oversized cash-grab garbage that's openly trying to appeal to millennials
If I wanted a diver, oh wait I've got a diver already and it's the same size. Why would I want a dress watch that looks like a diver
Anthony Hernandez
It's not a diver my man. The Santos was the first pilot's watch worn by Alberto Santos-Dumont. You need to cleanse yourself of that AP brainwashing.
Ryan Russell
The case/bracelet is interesting, but the dial seems out of place to be honest. Would be nice to see how the movement looks too.
Carter Ross
The movement looks like this. It's a undecorated, in-house movement. Cartier is in the process of transitioning all its mechanicals to in-house. The Santos uses a solid caseback so you wouldn't see it anyways.
