How do I make Maki real?

Should I bother trying to set up a custom recovery on my android? Or do you suppose better off letting it be?

No problems with it. Just can't boot to recovery. I am rooted with xposed, everything is smooth except for this choice.

What did you guys use to read K&R? Like did you download an e-book somewhere or did you actually buy the physical book?

How do I make HDR not look like ass on PC?

Was anyone able to root their G925V (verizon samsung s6)? STILL no TWRP for it. Magisk doesn't want to patch the boot.img. Termux doesn't even allow sudo. I tried to ssh into phone as well, with no luck. Why after all this time no one has come up with a solution for s6? What else can i try?

Use mpv

Whenever I open a bunch of tabs browsing porn, making a lot of ping attempts in a short amount of time (Rust server browser or torrents), or saturate my download my internet gets a shit ton of packet loss and intermittent ping spikes (even on direct HTTP transfers) many times ending in my internet going down entirely for every device on the router including wireless (yellow exclamation over network with "no internet connection"). So I thought it was my router (N66u) not being able to handle all the connections and connected my modem (13 year old motorola surfboard 5120) directly to the NIC. I haven't seen the internet die completely since but I still get packet loss and ping spikes going over ~80% of my bandwidth. This is despite Rust being limited to 250 pings a minute and torrents limited to 500 global/100 active. I'm using a garbage onboard NIC (Killer E2200 on a Z170MX-Gaming 5). Would upgrading to an Intel Gigabit CT be worth the money? I doubt it's the issue but the last thing I've yet to try other than complaining and assuming it's my ISP's problem.

even idle WinMTR to google shows a lot of packet loss especially on the first hop

With current technology the best you can get is Love Raper Maki, the uncensor patch, and VR for maximum cervical observation. Soon.

ISP

how can I select my WiFi channel when creating an ad hoc network on Windows 10?
>inb4 Win10 hurr
its a requirement for my academics
making a network is piss easy but it randomly chooses channel 1 or 11
in the advanced options of the device manager, it offers the choice of 1-11 but this is seemingly ignored when actually setting up a network between 2 laptops with the same wireless card in each

I'm talking about just normal web browsing

How do I remove disconnected displays that I see in xrandr?
Half of those are from displays I used in the past but not anymore and this shit just adds unnecessary clutter. Example, don't know why I have upto HDMI-4 when all I ever use is HDMI-1. If I ever need it again I'm confident enough xorg can just generate the right profile.

Hey guys, any developers here?

I am taking some sophomore-level CS classes, and I began to wonder: what is the go-to data structure for most applications? Is a balanced tree used (if the data can be ordered)? Or do most people just slap a linked list together and call it good?

Attached: 1510124772816.gif (492x376, 339K)

cliche, but it really depends on your needs
being a good developer is recognizing what should be used when and where and how much of a good or bad idea a stopgap measure would be (i.e. accruing technical "debt" as some people describe)

In canadia
beaver probably chewed through the cable eh?

How do I underclock and undervolt an intel i7?

Okay. So, if I'm in a run-time sensitive environment, and I use a balanced tree, my colleagues aren't going to look at me like a retard? lol

I suppose I'm just asking if all of these data structures I used as a freshman are actually used in industry today, or if they are a bit dated. Sometimes I ask myself if they just taught me circular linked lists so they could quiz me on them. That's a very true point that I should choose the structure based on the program itself, though.

So, I flashed my ancient smartphone [Droid DNA, yeah fuck verizon] back to a modified stock rom, debloat, already rooted.

SuperSU is blocking the phone app. That's uh...not expected behavior, right? Does that mean it's trying to do something weird, or is this happening because I'm getting a phone call? Be pretty weird for me to get a call at this time of night.

again its cliche, but it really depends on your environment

you're a small voice on a big team? you're likely just implementing something someone else higher up already did the abstract of and typically you'll be using either an in-house library or a 3rd party library

this info is still good to know though. if you're doing something more independent pulling in 100 requirements may not be a good idea if the project is relatively small (also you should consider if those requirements are going to break on you, npm has had a lot of scandals with entire services being disrupted because someone delisted their indentation library)

yeah it's quiz shit and if you go directly into industry it will remain quiz shit for 99% of your career but remember you're here to solve problems and it's a fucking problem if suddenly a library isn't there and you don't know how to implement its functionality yourself

That actually gave me quite a bit of perspective. Thanks user

any good FOSS alternatives to Sony Vegas/Adobe Premiere?

They teach you shit like circular linked lists so that you won't use them, intentionally or by accident. You might be surprised how many spergs there are in tech oriented classes who code something slightly differently and then think they're the next Bill MOTHAFUCKIN Gates because they've got this revolutionary new data structure that isn't new at all.

Also a good instructor will at least hint at why a given structure came into fashion, a context as to why it was useful for a time. Data structures and search algorithms and shit, they're all purpose-built solutions to a problem that one coder was having at a given point in time. The same way a plumber isn't going to use the same wrench as a car mechanic.

kdenlive. Though, I highly suggest saving your project FREQUENTLY due to unknown crashes (program closes without warning). Same for openshot (less technical).

Clockworkmod recovery or TWRP.

Easy full image backups, nice interface for flashing zips, and better fastboot access.

Try Odin tools and Odin derived tools.

> I'm confident enough xorg can...

You confidence is severely misplaced.

>modified stock rom

Probably an aftermarket phone app they baked in, or they modified the stock one to add features. What ROM did you flash?

I have a physical copy. But that's because I like a physical book, if you prefer having a pdf, go get one.

Works exactly like overclocking, just in reverse, you cut the multiplier and voltage and then stability-test it, instead of increasing them, and stop when you're satisfied.

Hey, Jow Forums. I'm building a PC.

The problem is, that, the last PC I built was in 2003, and I really haven't paid much attention to the improvements in hardware since then. So I need your help.

The parts I already have:

12GB RAM (1333 DDR 3 - 8+4)
1TB HDD + 250GB SSD
GeForce 730 GT 2GB
Some shitty 700W PSU
A black case that allegedly shines blue when you turn it on.

I need you advice on the CPU.

A seller is offering me these combos to complete the package (all of them at nearly the same price):

Core i7 3770 from 2012 + Motherboard
Core i5 4590 from 2014 + Motherboard + 4 more gigs of RAM
Xeon W3530 from 2010 + Motherboard + 4 more gigs of RAM

Naturally, when I heard "Xeon" my fucking dick rose, because that was the most expensive shit ($2-3K), way back before I was frozen in carbonite.

However, it's going to be nearly 9 years old soon, and that is bothering me. Also, I compared the i5 and i7 on some CPU comparing website, and even though, the i5 beat it in nearly every category, at the end of the page they said "BUY THE i7, CUNT".

And, so I'm asking for your opinion.

Would I be able to run the new games on this machine? If not, what are it's limits?

Sorry for the retarded question, lads. Pic unrelated.

Scrap everything but the HDD and SSD.
Buy new parts

what's the ideal way to watch video in bed

Buy an Apple iPad Pro

I got them for free, though.

TV at the foot of the bed

Notebook or big tv. Tablets and phones suck.

It's stock, just debloated, deodexed, and rooted. The guy who puts it out put out basically every ROM for this phone, which is HTC if I didn't mention.

forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2560010

That's the actual xda thread for it.

I guess I'm being paranoid, and I'll just make sure that I can get phone calls when someone I can bug for that kind of shit wakes up. I wouldn't put it past verizon to put some deep background processes in there that delivers the phone numbers in your contacts to them or whatever.

strongly considering this
not a bad idea
>Tablets and phones suck.
why though, explain thouself

Is there a way to get tooltips in the addon bar in Firefox?

>why though
Unless you're strapping them to the wall you have to hold them or stay very still if you lean them against something

Is there any reason to not use mx4 thermal paste on a laptop?
My t420 has started idling in the 50s and its all I have laying around.

Attached: decide.gif (316x213, 1.9M)

What are you aiming to do on this pc?
That's not alot of media capabilities.

Given shit formatted C code (mixed tabs and spaces, several indentation styles, long lines...), is there a program / script to automatically clean things up?

true, i'm thinking of just something for before i go to sleep or when i'm on the shitter which is why i'm leaning towards a tablet, if i were watching for hours on end then yeah it'd probably get pretty uncomfortable

Basic Photoshop and AfterEffects stuff. Play some Unreal Tournament 99 occasionally. Probably record a podcast. Nothing too heavy.

>just something for before i go to sleep
Ye I do that too, but I like setting up timers so I can sleep while still watching and the tv/notebook just turns off by itself

SSD Crucial BX300 120GB SATA 6Gbps 2.5 "
cop or not at 35 usd?

Attached: 1503664752872.jpg (500x500, 15K)

Might as well. That's about the floor price for SSDs. Which is annoying if you want a 16 or 32 GB one for less money because that's plenty enough space to boot a Linux machine, but I digress. That SSD is not going to be top of the benchmark charts, but who cares, presumably you aren't planning on putting a big database on it and hammering it with constant random writes. It'll still be plenty faster than an HDD and will serve ordinary purposes fine.

>posting worst girl

ew @ this thread

Attached: nicobestgirlismadatyou.jpg (1280x720, 91K)

crucial makes high quality SSDs, the BX series is not as fast as the MX series tho. Still faster than an HDD by an order of magnitude.

yea, I just want to throw the boot partition in there, for desktop usage
are you memeing or they are really high quality?

not memeing, they're just as good as intel or samshit and unlike those they are *not* botnet

All motherboards support SSDs right? I don't want to buy it and end up not being able to use it

If it has a SATA port, then you can use an SSD.

what is the best thermal paste

anything with actual silver on it will do

mayo

okay i figured, i didn't know if i should go for the gold meme

I went to a restaurant Friday and they emailed me a survey without me giving my email address. Who gave them my address? I paid with my card so maybe they got it from there.

Am I just to deep into the spynet now having a Pixel 2?

Im looking for an wireless adaptor to plug headphones into like i do my xbox controller, do these exist? Ive tried wireless headphones and i get too much interference but with the controller its fine.

ive seen this happen before that was solved by disabling the routers firewall capabilities (it was a bug, not the router kicking in to defensive mode)

my computer updated windows 10 by itself and I can't run steam anymore without it popping up bluescreen or it keeps opening and closing

How fix? I try plugging in my controller and it goes into big steam mode by itself too

does anyone know if Jow Forums x's bookmark can be exported & imported?

would like to sync my bookmarks between devices

Is Maki really a tomato?

The thread watcher?
There is an export button in settings but it isn't gonna sync automatically.
Iirc the only way to do that is to use the standalone extension with a logged in google account on chrome.

I'm looking for a gallery app on my phone and I remember QuickPic was the most suggested one. However I also heard that it went to shit, but not before a specific version.
Can anyone tell me the version of QuickPic I should download?

So I updated my desktop gaymen PC today (Windows 10 obviously), and after shutting it down the front panel LED is blinking...

It's not actually shut down, but suspended, isn't it?

4.5.2. It still mostly works on lineage 14.1 but its a bit prone to crashing. Here is a copy from the app store resigned so it wont update.
mega.nz/#!qNsBnIwR!60YcWqUw1Q1t1kUftOeS2OLLLB09-F3a1McrFITslbg

Yes. Windows 10 shutdown is now hibernation iirc.

no the real question is what is the best way to spread thermal paste on CPUs

Would using a VPN stop Comcast from throttling my connections? I keep trying to torrent things or download games from Steam and I get good speeds for maybe a minute then my connection drops completely until I reset the WiFi on my laptop.

is there any way to access the music on my pc with my phone if they're not on the same local area network?

change your port to something different

What port exactly?

Anyone have a good windows emulator for android, I just want to play off and space funeral on my phone.
Preferably one thats free or maybe a nive user will drop an apk
the port in your bittorrent client settings.
if you're asking which port, then something high like 62345 should be fine.
ISPs usually throttle connections trough the range of ports that are commonly used by torrent clients.

what will SICP enable me to do after I finish it

Attached: 1527137121034.jpg (328x455, 37K)

That sounds more like a WiFi problem. Does it do it when you're on Ethernet?
Comcast doesn't throttle torrenting here, and they certainly don't throttle Steam.

I haven't been able to try downloading it with an ethernet cable. I just tried switching ports but the same thing happened. I don't think it's my computer because it was working fine at my friends house.

Get a job and buy better hardware / internet. Time to soften up those interviewing skills and move location, it's less complex than what you are dealing with.

How do I make Debian stop hanging on both graphical install and install? It’s at 12% every time.
I’m using the small CD and am transitioning from xubuntu to it.

Attached: 0A1D776B-3246-4402-809F-1BF5DD35C492.jpg (601x495, 71K)

Have you tried burning another disc? That fixed my problem. I'd redownload the image too for good measure

How do you strip DRM from video files? I bought some titles from R18.com without knowing about their shitty DRM, now i'm stuck with .wmv files that can only be played on the R18 media player.

Your friend doesn't have the same access point.

If you're using some netgear crap, turn on your Comcast wireless instead (assiming you have Xfinity high speed). You'll need an ethernet cable, though.

Google it.

I'm using the router that Comcast supplied. Oddly enough, I tried using a Surface I had laying around and it didn't have the same issue. The speed is all over the place sort of but it never drops.

This is pretty loosely Jow Forums-related but I need advice.

I've been looking into buying an AC and came across these portable models, anyone have experience with them and know if they're any good? My room is only 12m2

They shouldn't be too shit if installed properly.
If you live somewhere that a swamp cooler works you should go for them though.

This is why you don't jump on blaming your ISP when you're having wireless issues.

Try changing the channel on your modem. 1, 6, or 11.

How easy is it to fuck up your laptop when doing a repaste? I want to replace the toothpaste that Dell uses with Kryonaut, but I don't want to screw up and wreck my computer.

It really depends on the model. Either find a relevant forum thread or dig up a hmm.

It was on channel 11 and channel 1 and 6 have the same issue.

Then it seems your device just really doesn't like that wireless.
Use a cable for heavy shit or get a new access point, like a Ubiquiti Lite for a small area or an AC LR for a large one.

don't use HDR. web content is generally meant for sRGB colour space.

why isn't my firewire card working reeeeeee

I've watched the teardown and repaste videos, but i'm still nervous. The most invasive thing i've ever done is replacing ram and hard drives.

Just do it. Use common sense and you'll be fine.
>t. user that did his 1st laptop repaste 5 hours ago

Best bluetooth speaker to pair with an amazon echo dot?

My original soundlink has died and looking to upgrade.

Why do my monitors look brighter on Linux than on Windows? I haven't touched the brightness setting in either OS.

Does anyone know how to make youtube show exclusively the search bar and search results(an add-on for firefox for example), hiding video recommendations, the comment section etc.
