the s curve is here, smartphone technology is mature, glasses with ar hud when

I'm about to buy a HYou Ahh Way P20 lite. Am i retarded?
If so, why?
All i want is a phone with very little bezel, around 6", and works on ATT OR T-Mobile. I can switch to either very quickly.
I use it for reading manga, looking at porn and making phone calls. I'm in US.
>wow another what phone to buy post
Are there any other good bezel-less or near bezelless options in the 3-400$ range?

Attached: Defense-Shield_Huawei_P20Lite_Black_00_1024x1024.jpg (1024x1024, 87K)

someone, pls

i use a motorola l2

Its an okay option if you are okay with having both American (gapps) and Chinese backdoors on your phone. They recently announced that they will no longer allow their users to unlock the bootloaders of their phones, which may be a big issue for you.

Another decent (near bezelless) option in that price range is the Essential phone, which varies in price between $350 and $450. I would expect it to have better software support than the hawaii, and it has an unlockable bootloader.

Debating on getting an LG V20. I've heard that there are a lot of lemons floating around out there, but I'm a faggot who wants that DAC. Is it worth getting a cheap refurb? Or are there any other phones with similar audio capabilities?

What chinkphones for ~250CAD will work with Freedom Mobile? Nothing special, preferably with sd card slot and more or less decent camera.

Cheap smartphone with strong developer community?

Should I get a Xiaomi Redmi 4A, 5A or Note 5A? They seem pretty much the same

what's a good screen capture software for android? (with the intent of streaming content)

Attached: 1378346689701.png (221x221, 46K)

Used unlocked Essential phone are even cheaper now

ebay.com/itm/192542605335

Very competitive price. Just load the Google HDR+ port to fix the camera and you've got a proper flagship

What's the best flagship of 2016/2017 that's dropped a lot in price?

What is the best value >=5.7" smartphone in $200-400 range?
Why shouldn't I buy refurbished LG V20?

What older smartphones have a very strong developer community?

refurbished Google Pixel is under $200 now on ebay

>ebay.com/itm/192542605335
I just bought the P20 lite.
>essential phone:
no headphone jack
No SD card slot

Xiaomi has strong developer padjeet community if you're into that kind of thing.

Cheap to midrange smart phone that's fun for rooting and modding?

What's a good smartphone that's relatively cheap and has a strong developer community behind it?

I just want something to mod and customise. See how much SOT I can get etc.

Buy the one that'll get ROMs for it for the longest of time. I suppose Redmi 4A will get more Pajeet ROMs but Redmi 5A will get MIUI updates for longer. Also Redmi Note 5A is just for that selfie camera.

Don't they have a high failure rate though?

How many bands/frequencies are required for viable service?

holy shit split screen makes my day so much more productive

Attached: Screenshot_2018-05-29-11-57-17-310_org.floens.chan.png (1080x2160, 605K)

It's a pretty useless feature imo. Even on my note 8 I find it cumbersome and irritating. Still too hard to navigate

Nah. It's buggy as hell and a lot of apps don't even bother past basic support. Mimi for example.

Forgot this.
In Mimi, it makes the thread go blank and turns the reply button into tye button to add new boards to your homescreen. In Robinhood, the charts don't show.

Attached: Screenshot_20180529-001452.png (1080x1920, 361K)

I was being sort of sarcastic
It's nice to be able to shitpost and have a YouTube video open in the background but other than that I can't see any uses

Thanks man

I feel like it's time for us to move to Koodoo or smth... Xiaomi won't work on Freedom, waiting for Nokia X6 and Lenovo but idk if they will work

Is there a reliable version of LineageOS on the Huawei P20 Pro yet? I want to get one as an upgrade from my S5, but I don't want to get it until I know I can safely put Lineage on it

Where's the best place to buy phones for Canadians?

I'm looking to buy a Xiaomi like the A1/Redmi or the Note 5.

Attached: coke.jpg (460x791, 43K)

I'm testing the Xperia XZ1, solid phone so far. I'm posting this to see what I like and don't like about the keyboard and general feel when typing. Battery seems to do alright, camera isn't a "muh DSLR full optikool vishun" and since it's not a US model, I can enjoy the botnet fingerprint sensor. Anyone have long term experience with these?

Would you say the camera is trash?

When you admit it's pronounced hwah-way

BASED ROLLA L2

i still got mine. still turns on. went through hell and back in the day

Should I get a pixel 2 or pixel 2 xl just for the camera (I am assuming they have the same camera)? The reviews out there seem to rate the pixel 2/2xl camera as being the most accurate with the least post processing and noise reduction.

Alternatively I could shell out more for a samsung s9+ since it has a micro sd card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

I was also considering the huawei mate 10 pro and p20 pro but they seem to have a lot of "beautification" going on.

Attached: 104201774205PM_635_google_pixel_2_xl.jpg (635x476, 27K)

All the beautification in the camera can be turned off, and if you dont like emui you can customise it/theme it/install another rom

Recommend old flagships that are still usable in 2018. I'm looking at Samsung S5, Zuk Z1, and LG G4

Just shattered my Moto X pure. To be honest, I hated the phone. What phone would you guys recommend I get for under $400. I was thinking about the OnePlus 3T

Meizu pro 6 plus, Honor 8, zuk z2, LG G5.

why not just buy a camera?
htc, samsung, pixel, and sony all have great cameras, so just go with the features you want

My Nexus 5x fucked up last night and either bootloops or doesnt turn on.Is there anyway to fix this shit. If it cant be fixed should I get a pixel 2 or xperia xz premium? theres a $300 price difference between the two but appear to have basically the same shit other then software and screen.

Meizu pro 6 plus is cheap now and has exynos 8890

Oh boy! I had this beauty. Time flies

>and LG G4
>LG G5
Bad idea.

It's cheap as fuck though, I think the cheapest snapdragon 820 phone. Are the bootloop really that bad? And isn't the G4 even more susceptible?

Just read the articles. When you do, you'll discover why they're so cheap.

My current contract ends at the start of July and my budget for a phone is potentially bretty big if I know it'll last me a long time. Is there a better time of the year to buy phones/a time when new ones are released around similar times?

How am I meant to judge if it's worth making the jump for an expensive new one or just a cheaper year old one?

Never put down a serious amount of money on one before and I don't know how to decide what I want.

If you can't decide what you want, why would you spend a large amount of money?

>Are the bootloop really that bad?

Considering it makes the phone worthless and is the reason the phones are so cheap (worth so little, worthless) yes. It's pretty bad.

I got two options, either a Nokia 7 Plus or the Oneplus 6. Which one should I get? I read and watched every review I could get my hands on and I just cant decide.

iPhone SE or Xiaomi Mi A1?
Which one to buy, around the same price, never used iOS. I don't play games, mostly browsing, watching some videos and whatsapp.

This was seriously one of the best phones I bought in a while. Screen is beautiful, beautiful pictures, fast charging, long battery, and pretty damn powerful. What more is there to ask?

Attached: samsung-galaxy-s9-85-1-980x620.jpg (980x620, 57K)

If you don't mind the screen size the SE is a very capable phone. Personally I'd go with the A1 since I can't stand small phones. I can also vouch for the A1 since I know 3 people who are content with it.

ios is fine, you get used to it. i'd take the mi a1 for the bigger screen if you're watching videos.

OP6 is an all around better phone

>What more is there to ask?
A reasonable price, exclusion of the edge gimmick, above average battery capacity on all variants.

Except the build and looks (subjective) I agree, what I also like is the fact that I can unlock and root it and so on, which is what kept me using my One for so long. The price difference is quite big tho.

Redmi note 4x you idiot or Meizu m6 note.

just bought the redmeme note 5 since y'all recommended this and my IP6 got busted
nice photos on it,it matches the iphone 7 plus but seems like the low light performance is middling
recommendation on things to do with the phone?

I have a xiaomi, occasionally I would get strange Chinese adverts pop up, sometimes a random error message or text message, all in Chinese.
It made me think it might be reporting info back there

The second link applies to you. Read this as well:

I hope that new nokias would be cheaper ;_;

Because I've got a few months to figure it out, I'm just wondering if many phones are to come out in that time.

When you buy a Nokia you pay extra for two things, build quality and blazing fast updates. It's what is steering me towards the 7 Plus instead of the OP6.

S7 Edge, is only 5.5 inches though
Xiami Mi Mix 2
LG G6
HTC U11 or Samsung S8 if you get a great deal

The newer LG V30 and G7, but they will also cost more of course

Which brand should I try next?

Attached: phones.jpg (2160x640, 207K)

I need a smartphone with 3G that doesn't have 4g on it. Any recommendations?

just go on craigslist, or an equivivalent of craigslist in your country and look for android phones made in 2011 or 2012.

I've been out of the phone loop for a couple of years now. What phone should I be looking at ~$500aud price point or less. I was looking at either a grey import lg g6 or v20 for $400, htc u11 for $500 or maybe a Nokia 8 for just under $500. Are chink phones any good now or nah?

N7+ is there for the strictly low-mid budget while OP6 is directly competing with S9,P20 and X
it just depends on what you really need
im hanging on to my Redmi Note 5 until the OP7 or Pixel 3 comes out

what about battery life?

I use AndroidPay a lot, if I root the OP6, will I lose AndroidPay? I know they block it on most rooted phones.

cant you just hide root with magisk?

No need to get a chink phone at your budget. Consider the Samsung S8/S8+ if you can get the at your budget

thanks but I want to be able to easily use fb, whatsapp, TG and discord on it and those phones have old android that don't support them

Yeah, I'd rather a Samshit but it looks like s7 is as good as I'll get on my budget without going used/"""refurbished""". If I was going to drop the extra couple of hundred, I'd probably go for a v30

You need ALL the bands your service provider uses. Otherwise you'll lose signal in certain areas.

I really want the V30 but I've seen in reviews that it has a shitty screen. Is it true/something that all of the phones are affected by, or not something worth worrying about?

Mate it's your phone, you should choose it. Personally I like the Pixel 2 XL but it's a matter of personal taste. I have an iPhone 6 so maybe you'll think I'm an Applefag and therefore my taste should be disregarded.

Point is, go with what you like the most. If you like the S9 the most then go with that. Go with what you prefer. There's no point carrying around a phone you hate just because some losers on the internet said it was good.

Because why the fuck would you carry two devices when you can carry one? Smartphone cameras are good enough nowadays to make point-and-shoots obsolete.

I wanna go with lgv30 or the note 8 but I dont wanna deal with that Bixby crap.

Because if you care about a good camera you will probably actually enjoy using a good camera. $100 point and shoots with bad sensors are obsolete. That's why higher end pocket cameras with comparatively huge sensors exist.

What's Bixby?

I want to reset my phone. How do I do it without losing Google Authentificator codes?

Bixby is Samsung's version of Siri / Google Assistant / Cortana / Alexa

I’m actually getting the V30, it’s in the mail right now. Bought it for 500€, for comaprison the G6 is about 350 and the U11 450€. So from the prices you mentioned I would have thought that you could get the V30 for 550 aud? The relative prices might be different in straya though. Make sure to look for good deals though, also on the S8/S8+ as you can often get them much cheaper

LG doesn’t have Bixby tho?

Oh pointless shit then, never used any of that stuff before.

Hwaaaahway to hell

I'm using DU Recorder but it doesn't have internal audio recording. I heard mobizen premium has it so you might wanna check it out.

The going rate is about $450 for a non import g6 and $750 for a s8/v30. I'd like a v30 but I can't justify that kind of money on a phone desu

The note 8 does and they even have a hardware button just for it.

Damn you really have some shit prices over there. Personally I’d consider 5e HTC U11 or an LG G6 as my main options if I were you

Yeah I know, classical Samsung retarded hardware choice like the fingerprint sensor next to the camera or offering only curved edges on their top phones

Oneplus

>no 4g
Why?

>why
4g fries your braincells even when dezactivated

Is there anything better than AndroIRC that I should be using instead?

Sup Jow Forums, looking at a XZ1 compact... Will I miss the bigger screen? Should it have android updates? (at least P)
Any owners here?
