that your priorities are based on memes?
yes
to find a laptop that's lacking in every field but has 1080 screen?
yes

Second or first generation X1, a 3rd gen if you're lucky, are in that price range and either comes with an 1080p screen or you can get a chink one for 35USD, that's what i did.

T440, T440s, T440p and buy a fhd screen. Or get a good deal on a T450s

Yes. T520

Any thinkpad, even the old ones sometimes come with >1080p screens (although the screen size wasn't standardized then so it comes something like 1080p, you'l have to calculate it yourself)

I modded my T430 with a 1080p IPS screen. You can probably do the same with a T420.

I advised a friend to buy a 180 euro e7440 in good condition with a great 1080p IPS but also a passworded bios on ebay (and get separately a SSD and HDD.) Took part of the weekend to work out how to circumvent the bios password since bios-pw.org wasn't working and Win 7 / 10 were being cunts and throwing errors when installing from an SD Card (usb boot was password protected.) In the end I tried the oldest trick in the book - I installed Win 10 onto his SSD but on my laptop and then transplanted it into his laptop. Because it was cracked it autovalidated and we had no issues. Fantastic business laptop, only 180 euro. Mind you, Linux would have worked straight away without all the fuss.

How hard was it to do the mod?
I remember finding some instructions a few years ago but I soon abandoned the idea(i think it seemed too complicated)

MY W510 was 130$ plus shipping
1gen Intel Core i7 720QM 1.6 GHz
Number of cores 4
Number of threads 8
NVIDIA Quadro FX 880M
8 gb ram ddr3

>those fuckhuge bezels on sides of a keyboard
Pathetic. If they didn't decide to put a numpad on a 15inch fucking work-laptop they could at least put cupholders for starbucks coffee there

>numpad on a 15inch laptop
Kys, numpads (especially on work laptops) are cancer

holy bottleneck

T.professional blogger

why did they put the screens sideways fuckin tards?

Numpads on laptops are shit. Why would you want to have your arms at an awkward angle for the sake of something most people barely use.

>would you want to have your arms at an awkward angle
This is the shittiest pseudo-argument I've ever read.
>clit is 3cm off-center
>scoliosis, suffering, painful dead

Even if the discomfort is only minor it's not non existent. How often do you actually use a jumped to justify this sacrifice in comfiness.
