I was like you once. It still has its uses but I've converted to smplayer (and mpv) with youtube-dl and it's overall the same after some key bindings. I don't get autistic over scaling though.
My big reason for leaving mpchc was loading fuck huge playlists would hang it for minutes.

is there a benefit to youtube-dl outside of better performance? it seems like it'd be a pain to find a video's url and paste it somewhere before being able to watch/listen to something.

good one you really got me there, how will I ever recover
Through the power of autism I added a custom mpv:// protocol to my system and using a Firefox extension I can right click any link/image/page/etc to send that url (prefixed with the mpv protocol) into smplayer.
Could take it a step further and automatically regex specific urls to append mpv:// to the start of them for the same effect.

Have fun wasting your life worrying about a botnet that will never even affect you.
you're new here aren't you
I know I shouldn't say that on Jow Forums but it's what I think about Linux junkies in general. It's good for some things but people here act like its a sin to admit that windows does some things better than the perfect Linux.
