I've never seen a YIFY encode.

yify is remux quality in a tiny package

This. YIFY is objectively flawless.

lmao the quality sucks balls, the audio is always messed up

didn't YIFFER quit long time ago. . .

>1 seed
I hope you have a gbit connection so you can download it before they disconnect

And that peer is probably MPAA.

TPB does not show all seeders.

>MPAA
>being americuck
>caring about nonsensical stuff
Stay mad.

Anyone else remember aXXo?

back when xvid was a thing yeah

yes, a lot on porn videos.

Can't stand yiffy garbage compared to real high quality stuff.

Yes, I have several cd roms with his movies.

And Mininova. Those were the days...

>119GB for 2 movies

I'd consider a yifi file if I were watching on mobile...

>remuxes
What's the point when an encode with transparent quality is at least 50% smaller?

Attached: 1509558644374.png (657x539, 80K)

You uhh got a link to those?

the fuck are those 100+ ones?
tv shows/anime?
biggest remux I have is 40 gb blade runner (4k is 70 gb)

Who is the YIFY of /CurrentTime/? Ganool? ShAanig was aight but that pajeet got arrested afaik.

Sure, but they wont do you any good without an invite.

>transparent quality is at least 50% smaller
I don't trust any of the current encoder groups doing 4k encodes.

YIFI rips are dogshist, yeah, everyone knows it. But 30GB private tracker "rips" are also a meme.
I've found that 15GB rips from public trackers to have the best quality-size ratio.

you're a meme

What are you guys? Fuckin video-philes?

You can find stuff besides remuxes on private trackers, but there are several trackers that specialize in remuxes, so encodes are less common there.

But go to HDB or PTP, and there should be a decent selection of encodes available.

Do cinemas use remuxes or other special files?

Well that's some shit because I've never seen them

special files, theater quality is generally 400gb+

Delivered on time locked hard drives.

the fuck?
Cant you just use 4k remuxes :^(

I call them pixel watchers

Just need access to the right places

>But 30GB private tracker "rips" are also a meme.
>I've found that 15GB rips from public trackers
No need to go to public trackers for that, good private trackers have a wide selection of remuxes, and encodes. Pic related

Attached: 2018-05-30 09_50_19.png (993x1279, 151K)

The quality jump from a YIFY encode to a 15GB encode is heavily noticeable, but the jump from a 15GB encode to an autist 50GB file is not. Basically, diminishing returns.

Not if you want actual cinema quality.

do you have data cap or something
its literally free so why not do it
I delete em after watching so size isn't a problem
unless you archive everything u download like an autist I dont see the problem

I just wanted to open a cinema and download movies for free :-DD

When you're setting 2.5-3feet to a 43" 4k monitor, you can easily notice artifact and color banding. I have 1gbps internet on top of it all, downloading a 50GB file vs a 15GB file is the difference of maybe 5-10 minutes.

>No need to go to public trackers for that
Why? If public trackers work for me and I can get reasonably quality movies from there, why should I go through the hassle of a private tracker?

>I have 1gbps internet on top of it all
You lucky motherfucker.

No one seeds the 10 GB+ encodes on public trackers

>no x265 anywhere
Why? We've been stuck at x264 for 14 fucking years why are pirates so steadfast?

Less bullshit to sort through, higher quality standards, higher seeder retention, autists seeding from 1gbps and 10gbps seedboxes, a few on 40gbps boxes, etc.

Just all around a comfier existence.

Downloaded only aXXo stuff on demonoid (the first time around when it was a decent tracker)

because x265 is a bitch to encode (slow as fuck) and AV1 will replace it in a few years

UHD releases are all x265 since that's how they're encoded on the discs.

I doubt you'll see many encoding groups switch to x265 for 1080p yet though, they are more comfortable with x264 settings and know how to better manipulate the settings to suit their needs compared to x265.

>do you have data cap or something
No, but I have a limited hard disk space.

X265 looks 10x better at 1/10th the filesize tho
Fuck if it takes them so long to encode get better PC's
Zen is cheap kgo

Remember? I still have the rips.

No it doesnt, these encoding groups have been tweaking the x264 skills for years to optimize it as much as possible, they simply haven't had that time on x265 and you're more likely to get a shoddy encode that isn't transparent.

>encoding x265
>AMD
shame that the x265 encoder heavily uses AVX instructions

Attached: t3_67olq7.png (1200x992, 144K)

>You lucky motherfucker
yup, 1gbps fiber internet and 18TB of HDDs allows me to be pretty liberal in my downloading habits.

I have a folder full of capeshit movies of 15GB each, downloaded from kat.

When he said
>no one seeds 10GB+ encodes on public trackers
what he meant was that it has few seeders and tends to be dog-shit slow, unless you hop on it the first few hours after it gets released.

Private trackers have MUCH higher quality seeders, i've gotten 80MB/s download from 4 seeders.

Well then maybe it's time they join in and ho on the gpgpu cuda amd train
And boom goes the dynamite.
Zen isn't even that bad tho so that confirms they all have potato pcs

You're also forgetting about decode, not everyone is playing back their movies on a 2017+ computer.

Some people are using computers from the early mid 2000s

x264 isn't terrible to decode with CPU if need be, x265 decode on an older PC is nearly impossible

x264 is simply more versatile, easier to encode, more well known and thus going to have more optimized settings applied, and further the size benefits of x265 are nowhere near 1/10th the file size, it's more like 1/2, if you're lucky, and more often you're only saving 1/3rd of the space at the same quality level.

This

I usually go for the 10gb encodes

>Well then maybe it's time they join in and ho on the gpgpu cuda amd train
>GPU encoding
>being this retarded

50 GIGABYTE FILES?

4K, IS THAT REALLY NESSECARY?

YIFY ARE FINE

This but unironically.

Yifi's userbase is your classmate with a 17" laptop that downloads their releases to watch when he's not playing LoL, and he thinks he's hot shit for actually download anything.
He uses the speakers as well, not even headphones.

The average non savvy person just streams.

This is worst than the flac audiophile memers

YIFY doesn't use flac for their encodes, they use 128kbps. you can literally hear the pixelation on my sennheiser hd 600's with $2k cables and 2k amplifier. Yify is so bad it actually leaves burn in on my 7000 dollar 8k OLED display

4.6GB 1080p rip

and from the UHD remux

Attached: BR2049-70GB.jpg (3840x1601, 801K)

take 2 pictures of the exact same frame, without any video filters in mpv/mpc-hc

then i will believe you, the bottom picture obviously looks 1000 times better but this is just a troll

Seriously, how can you guys keep these > 10GB movies on your computer. HDDs aren't expensive, but I really doubt that most of you have a computer with more than 3TB of memory. Thus, your computer won't be able to contain more than 100 movies and most likely you'll have to delete some of your favorite movies when you reach the memory cap. Unless your computer is a workstation of sorts, why can't you enjoy the fun of having thousands of -rip suffixed movies on your computer and rewatch them whenever you want? Watching a raw BD movie for a slightly unnoticeable visual improvement is good, but keeping them after watched is pure masochism.

They're different encodes, getting the EXACT frame is nearly impossible since they aren't the same length.

>but I really doubt that most of you have a computer with more than 3TB of memory
lol, kid, how new are you?

Attached: 2018-05-30 10_47_18.png (831x121, 9K)

Also, any frame i capture would need to be compressed since Jow Forums has a max of 4MB file size on Jow Forums.

>WDBlack5TB
Jesus how much BLACKED porn does one person really need

>but I really doubt that most of you have a computer with more than 3TB of memory
hmmm

>not pirating raws

Believe it or not, none of that is porn.

Barely any of the Anime is hentai. Maybe 50-100GB.

closest you're gonna get

Attached: mpv-shot0002.jpg (3840x2160, 760K)

i have 32 lossless BD raws on my 3tb hdd. it's worth it to keep them even after you've watched, you all just love inferior quality, pfff plebians

I usually get 10-15 Gb movies. I have 12 Tb of storage on my Nas.

I just download a remux and delete it a few days after watching it.

Where the hell can I find that movie in 4k without a streaming service or some other bullshit like that? I just want a file I can put whereever.

It's available mainly on private trackers
see
and

1080p rip yet you post 4k screenshot?

And if this is a Blu Ray rip upscaled to 4k, not only it's guaranteed to look like shit compared to a real, non reencoded 4k Blu Ray UHD, it will also look different because the latter is most likely an HDR encode.

You could always take a frame as soon as a scene completely change...

Yes, I figured as much... how exactly do I gain access to those, and what are the requirements? Actually, I wouldn't even mind paying for the movie, but I'm not interested in buying it on some kind of streaming service AT ALL.

>1080p rip yet you post 4k screenshot?
well, I don't have a 1080p monitor, sorry.

Find someone who has an invite and is willing to give one to you.

Or gain status on another private tracker and get recruited/invited from invite forums.

the private tracker general thread here on Jow Forums is probably a better place for your question.

The real issue with 4k remuxes and public trackers is that since most people don't seed, or don't seed for long, it's nearly impossible to download the 50GB+ files without it taking for fucking ever.

Thank you. It's rather unlikely that I'd get in then since I'm usually fine with buying the few pieces of entertainment I like (mostly music off Bandcamp to support the artists), but damn I'd love to have Blade Runner 2049 in 4k. I'm not even into movies that much, but it's just such a visually impressive movie that I'd love to watch it in 4k.

not the remux but it's better than nothing

It shouldn't be impossible to find on public trackers if you look around, but depending on your download speed, and the seeders/peers you're connecting to, it could take a long time.

Holy shit, that dithering.

Are you sure you're not using any kind of filter with mpv? The UHD remux can't possibly look this bad

not a difference worth an extra 66 gigabytes is it?

Yeah, its got filters on MPV, i tried opening up in MPC-HC which doesn't have any filters applied, but the 4k file crashes MPC-HC.

The 1080p file plays fine in MPC though.

MPC-HC is just shit with UHD content.

I normally run SPV Pro 4 through MPV.

When the difference is like that in EVERY frame of the movie?

Well worth to me. I have plenty of hard drive space, and the download took under 20 minutes.

you can get some single rips up to 100gb but it's probably boxsets or something

Wait, is YIFY back or is it an appreciation thread?.
Either way... his encodes couldn't be beaten. I have TBs of that shit on my system.

I play uhd content on the latest mpc-hc release just fine, and without installing a newer LAVFilters.
Try disabling hwaccel if it's enabled, and try with both EVR(cp) and madVR.
