Hijacking this thread

My mother wants a simple smartwatch, basically something that tracks how much she walked that day. Looking for something with a long battery life under 200 bucks

This looks great but paying an extra $1-2000 for something that makes a point of being crudely constructed doesn't sit right with me. They really nailed the 1970's instrument cluster look.

If you are referring to the movement, the Lemania 5100 is one of the greatest pieces of functional mechanical movement design of all time, and on the technical merits is the greatest mechanical chronograph movement ever made at any price.

It ain't pretty, but its and incredible piece of functional engineering.

The articles about it like to use the word "cheap" to describe the way it's built but apparently the price starts at 3k+

What watches and kinds of watch still look good, maybe even improved several years later when it "ages" and gets minor marks on them?
