Took me a while to realise that this wasn't a screenshot from a new fallout game or something

>Doesn't work on websites that require scripts
Pssshhh, nothing personal kid

>(((scripts)))

It's not a bug; it's a feature.

>Implying we're here because we want to be

>Hey man just have 90% of the web not work at all or be so inconvenient it just isn't worth it

And every single normalfag would fuck off from the net. Wouldn't that be sweet?

Start writing text files and playing text adventures.

imagine being this teen

this isn't /v/ you can leave anytime, memespouting bandwagoner

I meant the internet as a whole you sperg. If I could live without the internet I would. Though now most jobs expect you to have social media or else you have "something to hide", everywhere is beginning to drop paper mail and cheques in favour of email and online banking. Cars are even slowly becoming always online with phone tethering and the like. If I'm forced to use these online services, I might aswell go all out and enjoy everything else the internet has to offer.

>You don't agree with me on Jow Forums so you must be /v/
How did you come to the conclusion anything I said had anything to do with /v/? Quit being a delusional faggot.

>everywhere is beginning to drop paper mail and cheques in favour of email and online banking

Cheques dissapeared in the late 80's man.
Oh,it didnt? Sorry I forgot about that 3rd world place called the US.

Paper mail.... I won't event touch that.

Funny, I remember the img tag being introduced to mosaic.

internet ≠ web

Are there distros where you only interact with the command line? Would be a fun experiment

arch

Chill out, I'm 19 and knew this wasn't from fallout, imagine being this much of an asshole

>technical advancement is bad

>muh distros
Please understand young fag that all linux distros are essentially the same. They use the same software compiled with a few different options and slightly different default configurations.

the only people who use checks here in the US are old as shit or people getting their paycheck (becuase they didn't bother to just set up direct deposit)

Autism is a disease

The web was a mistake anyways.

>Sorry I forgot about that 3rd world place called the US
Was that meant to be some kind of insult? I'm not American fyi. Notice how I spelled favour in proper English.
Don't try to deny cheques are still used in many places. Plenty of small business still use them, and I've had landlords ask me to send them cheques for rent as recent as just a few years ago.
>Cheques disappeared in the late 80s
Mainstream internet wasn't a thing until early 90s, online banking and etransfers didn't become popular until early 2000s with the rise of ebay. I have a hard time believing everybody jumped ship all at once at that time. Even if you admit they didn't, I doubt people were still sending large sums of money in envelopes through the mail. Oh you won't touch paper mail either? I guess you've never had a job you've gotten paid for then.

>all distros are literally the same guys

Attached: 1519439855620.png (932x944, 241K)

FreeDOS.

even ubuntu has server version that doesn't ship DE

>3rd world place called the US

>yet has the strongest tech industry in the world
probably because we don't care about your consumerist bullshit

What about these?

Attached: 478294-heatwave-bbs.jpg (740x555, 170K)

Isn't ANSI just specific system BIOS symbols assigned colors?

>online banking and etransfers didn't become popular until early 2000s
Maybe not in the US. Here in norway on the other hand..

...

so were u

don't be rude user

Any linux distro with a minimal install should greet you with a login on a tty/linux console. From there you can install a DE or WM if you want to. Or just play roguelikes and text adventures.

We had online banking in the 1980s in the US. It just wasn't widely used because consumer cryptography hadn't been standardized yet and so using it opened you up to having your identity stolen.

Literally no one cares about your snownigger saudi arabia.

Bro, Links exists for Linux terminal. You could install the bare minimum of Arch and browse the internet.

>bare minimum
>arch
you need mental help.

Have you read any kmandla?

Why do you think we use Linux?
As a joke?

Are HTML files in text-based browsers acceptable?

Couldn't agree more, OP!

The Internet isn't the web, you fucking post-millennial retard.

Comfortable.

>US is third world
Can't wait until europoors need an internet license to shitpost.

Why?
Without graphics:
No gaymes
No goym movies
No Thots pictures
...... wait

If the article 13 becomes a thing, they will have no internet to shitpost at all, because every website will just block europe.

You don't linux much do you?

Cute

Funny you say that, can't wait till amerifags need to pay extra to use Jow Forums. 5$ per board, pay up fag.

>No gaymes
Text adventures, my man.

Attached: Moonmist_box_art.jpg (316x315, 20K)

They did some good, they did some bad.

BSD games
Pong
Star wars in Ascii
etc etc

>nope only windows since a touch a keyboard
tried bds once, hard as fuck.

Attached: 8d6.jpg (645x729, 41K)

How and why are you on Jow Forums?

>AZERTY
get this out of my sight now.

Also that's retarded.

>want to copypaste a block of code
>34 keystrokes in cli vim
>5 clicks and 1 drag with a mouse and gui

Holy shit, is this a filter for web 2.0 bullshit? Or is there an even better option? Filtering 90% of the garbage sites on the net is my goal.

Attached: 1505959769538.jpg (208x243, 9K)

Too bad the tiles version of crawl is better, user.

>want to delete a line
>types dd in cli vim
>1 drag with a mouse and gui and accidental slide and try again and press backspace on keyboard

>want to change something in brackets/quotes etc.
>types ci{ / ci" / ci in cli vim
>1 careful drag with a mouse and gui and press delete on keyboard and couple of backspaces in case you miss some newlines or whitespaces

but the worst thing is that it makes you wave around with your hands too much by switching from mouse to keyboard back and forth.

>poorfags btfo
Sounds great.

Gayming rig specs and 8 bit guy

>Cheques
>American

this is pretty neat.

Why would Americans need to pay up if hiroshimoot can still collect our data? Also
>implying you couldn't buy a pass
>implying you shouldn't already be using a pass
Good thing we're not poor. We'll fight against the botnet with our money.

You don't?

No...
Am I supposed too?

Paid digital distribution was a mistake.

I'm UK and haven't used a cheque since 1993.
>online banking and etransfers didn't become popular until early 2000s
No, people did bank deposit or transfer instead. Unless you were rural it was quicker and more convenient than cheque. Telephone banking had never been popular, but it did see an increase at the end of the 80s. The introduction of debit cards in 87-88 was the beginning of the end for cheques, and 98 is when card payments eclipsed cheques for the first time. Cheque usage plummeted over the next two years.

No, but Jow Forums is you wannabe gen-x greasycunt

The greatest pleasure of being a backend dev is never having to leave the terminal.

Not quite

Look at dis nigga, he don't even have a hi-res graphyx board, what a loser

Show that thing running Space Quest or die.

>Using GUI
Why is this allowed?

NN got resurrected by the senate.
A13 however, is likely to pass.

>wahh someone said something mean to me :((((((
go to bed kiddie, you're not welcome here

I think thats probably true.

People get richer and maybe we plebs do less work but most advancements come with some kind of social or environmental cost which we can ignore for a few years, until we come to depend on the technology.

B-but these are graphics...

we wouldn't have made leaps in innovation that computer graphics moti ated us to. It wasnt just for games, but for movies and entertainment as a whole, which makes $$$

Disks were a mistake.

"""text mode""" software ends up with emulating graphics with ASCII characters, look at all this borders and tables, or even better there is no reason to not use graphics aside from being elitist brainlet

Yeah, unless you stick exclusively to command-line style programs with absolutely zero TUI / curses, then you might as well have graphics.

there are like 200 debian based distros and the only differences between the ones with the same DE are the wallpaper, and the taskbar color, and wether it comes with a browser and basic media player or not.
wow so different.
