Right looks better.

This. The notch isn't a bad idea it's just a poorly executed one. Keeping time and other stats on the top bar permanently is fine, but the notch just makes full screen apps look stupid regardless if they confirm to the notch or not.

So basically put bezels back? Idiot

The notch isn't even bad if you actually used the phone.

iOS on the other hand is a steaming pile of shit.

Make the bezels another screen used only for the status bar. Could even be e-ink or something and always be readable.

this.

They wanted the notch to stand out to differentiate the iPhone X from cheaper models.

Nobody would spend that much money on an iPhone if they couldn't use it as a status symbol, so it had to look different from "poorfag iPhones"

you can literally already do this you mongoloid

That literally just puts a black bar on your wallpaper, Pajeet

so, if iPhone = pajeet then what about an Android user who isn't a shill?

>but the notch just makes full screen apps look stupid regardless if they confirm to the notch or not.
This argument just means you've never bothered looking into what Apple has given developers to handle the notch. You have an idea of how it works but that's not how it actually works: developer.apple.com/ios/human-interface-guidelines/overview/iphone-x/

The notch is still there. You are not hiding it.

>Implying Ishmale and Pajeet care about Apple guidelines
You got a lot to learn, kid

Still better then the state of android

The form factor is not much of an issue.
Forcing all the developers to adapt to it is.
The phone should by default "emulate" a square output, and when the application is specifically written for it, then it use the rest of the screen.

>Forcing all the developers to adapt to it is.
>defending lazy developers

Sorry, but this is the real world, where most developers can't just give their 100% the whole time and bend for the whims of a faggot corporation.

I don't get the webm ?

Shame, because developers overwhelmingly make more money out of iOS applications compared to Android.

You're fucking retarded. Objectively speaking Apple's implementation is much more immersive as you see content roll off the physical ends of the screen over the body of the phone. They are using every pixel they have. What's the point of making an artificial dead zone which looks a tonne worse? If there's a notch there anyway then you might as well have either side of it have some fucking life instead of just turning it off. Android users, unexpectedly have zero fucking taste.

>Sorry, but this is the real world, where most developers can't just give their 100% the whole time

iOS developers are iOS developers. That IS their time you utter mongoloid. You're talking like some laptop manufacturer made a weird circular display or something and wanted all Microsoft and everything else which makes a Windows application cater to them. iOS devs cater only to iOS, that's what 100% of their time is. iOS iPhone app developers only do that, so what is your point?

>Sorry, but this is the real world, where most developers can't just give their 100% the whole time and bend for the whims of a faggot corporation.
So instead of projecting why don't you come to grips with reality. The "faggot corporation" has market control and the effort differential is not unlike other hurdles of adoption to overcome in tech. There's plenty of stagnant industries to choose from user...

the navigation buttons on the bottom take up screen space even when watching fullscreen video, which is retarded. my phone does this, but the xda gesture app gets rid of it and puts a little transparent hideable home button on the bottom like on the iphone x, that you can swipe left or right as well for back/switch app

>implying bezeless is not idiot
Not to mention that notch is a fail bezeless.

charge your phone

Stop being autistic about the notch

Notch = Im rich

>waste pixels that could be used for a sense of context for no reason other than waaah i want my bezels back
why even bother making a bezelless phone in the first place?

So buying shitty chinkphone for 150 bucks = rich ?

No fuck off. Top bezel and chins are unacceptable in 2018

it's funny how many companies use this failed notch design just because apple did
it's just one step back
after we fix or remove front camera all phones will look the same

Attached: weLC1ZQ.jpg (1893x1063, 75K)

This is a really good idea desu

>My phone screen has a "Safe Space"

Attached: Triggered Marina.jpg (229x220, 17K)

because its OLED you can just just have it on 24/7 showing the time and small things with minimal battery drain. Like the S8 and 9 do with the time.

The equivalent of knockoff designer things I guess.

Were you here for that guy designing a calculator? It was a nightmare trying to conform to that.

Guidelines isn't exactly how shit plays out

This is true and actually what I do.

But it will cause some burn-in, so e-ink would be better.

>This argument just means you've never bothered looking into what Apple has given developers to handle the notch.

Neither have you, apparently:

>Don't mask or call special attention to key display features. Don't attempt to hide the device's rounded corners, sensor housing, or indicator for accessing the Home screen by placing black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. Don't use visual adornments like brackets, bezels, shapes, or instructional text to call special attention to these areas, either.

>Don't attempt to hide the device's rounded corners, sensor housing

("sensor housing" = notch)

Let's be honest here.
Under Steve Jobs, that notch could never go into production.

>notch gives more screen space
>no chin on bottom
>all android oems have chin but do notch
>software doesnt' support notches
>all fucked up notfications
>have to wait for android P
>phones now wont get android P for 14-18 months

why don't you hide navigation buttons and swipe up to show them? i have android 7 and i can do it

>Don't mask or call special attention to key display features.Don't attempt to hide the device's rounded corners, sensor housing, or indicator for accessing the Home screen by placing black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. Don't use visual adornments like brackets, bezels, shapes, or instructional text to call special attention to these areas, either.
Do also Apfel developers have to commit to a cock cage too with apple being the keyholder?

Attached: Realdoll2.0.gif (600x366, 822K)

I'd rather just have them on the bezel chin.

>Design guidelines are bad
>Developers should design their own UI from scratch and not use the API provided by Google/Apple
It's okay to say retarded shit on Jow Forums as long as there's some Apple hate in your post it seems

Doesn't matter, your favorite company is already copying it

>poorfags will never get to do this with their phones
lmao, it's sad and hilarious

Attached: transparent iphone.jpg (576x768, 72K)

Those are some nice bezels on that bezel-less phone.

> to handle the notch
You mean, implement some workarounds? Do you understand how wrong is this, develop something which should be worked around with some hacks?

it doesn't matter namecalling is just how user deal with people here there is no deeper or real meaning behind what he says

That looks like shit, the notch is better.

notches look better

you just tap the screen again and it goes away
also don't compare flagship apple devices to budget android devices, that's pretty desperate.

that is a flagship andriod device tho, and the latest version of android added software notches because , which was the point of the webm

note 8 says hi

>notches look better

Attached: 1527533367941.png (221x250, 21K)

Yea, they do if they want their shit to end up on the app store.
