Apple jumps on an opportunity to make people think they care about client privacy.

People have to be really fucking dumb to fall for the apple mem.

They can act the part because they don't really care about privacy, it's not their business model anyway. They look good in the eyes of normies, who trust them blindly. All the while, they'll do exactly the same Facebook does, even if they do attempt to fuck with Facebook the way they're describing. It's the equivalent of trying to tell people that others are the bad guys, while doing exactly the same and undermining your competition.
It's fucked up, but I can't even fault them for it, it's smart because it'll work. Peak capitalism.
