Is Vivaldi the new thinking man's browser?

No

>vivaldi
>new
>chromium clone

Looks gay

vivaldi is what firefox should be

you now get the gayboy browser

Crippled even more?

And? Chromium itself was a clone of Safari which itself was clone of Konqueror. That does't imply anything.
I feel the same way
Yes
Nice projection

yes
what is add on compatibilty ?
no u

i like it, i used to use to opera and Tetzchner is BASED

Vivaldi is foward thinking. look at the new history stats for instance

Attached: Vivaldi-New-History-2.jpg (1582x942, 415K)

I've been using it for a couple months now, I love it. Chrome add-on compatibility seals the deal for me.

How compatible it is with when you perform Browser Testing? Also is it privacy friendly. I am considering replacing my Firefox for this.

give it time but im sure one day vivaldi will be unanimously Jow Forums approved.

its the only sane alternative and dont give me any "free" or "open" bulsshit: the opera 12 presto source code leaked and you monkeys did absolutely nothing with it

Fuck that
Chromium-based browsers are shit that are too limited

Have they fixed all the bugs with touch/pen capacitive screens yet? It was fucking enfuriating to use on my surface and i'd move back if they have. firefox keeps lagging for me recently

>thinking man
>browser

thanks user I needed that chuckle.

why would any thinking man use a closed source clone of the open source chromium with a different theme?

What so you use? I assume crapfox?

Vivaldi user checking in

> he thinks chromium is ungoogled

its alright pal they fooled me too.

>closed source

Have they fixed the middle mouse scroll bug where it selects everything yet? It's been years. It's been years with a major unresolved issue present.

No. They haven't fixed it. Just installed it again. Same fucking issue. Almost like they have no programmers and the browser itself is a scam built off of some old code they had lying around.

The most beautiful browser I've ever had the privilege of using desu senpai

Attached: Screenshot_2018-06-05_23-09-41.png (2560x1700, 403K)

It's literally just chromium with a shit ton of bells and whistles

>Built in tree style tabs
>Built in web page capture (Basically fireshot)
>Tabs that can be pinned, stacked, and hibernated
>Bookmark management that is on-par or exceed's firefox's
>Browsing history stats
And that Reader View mode is excellent

If it wasn't for the fact that it doesn't have browser sync (yet) and that it doesn't have firefox's carousel tabs when too many tabs are open, I'd recommend it all the time.

It's certainly the best chrome clone currently available.

Attached: vivaldi.png (1360x739, 165K)

Closed source botnet.
>ib4 shitty incomplete source webpage

where's the noscript user

Attached: 1527907414969.png (341x340, 170K)

is it still slow and proprietary?
getting real tired of firefox tbqhwy

is this a joke? it looks like absolute shit.

why can't you turn off it switching to new tab once you open one?
clicking "open as background tab" is annoying

this browser looks like shit. all the themes suck and the titlebar and tabs randomly change colors which is beyond retarded

Attached: 1521885683985.png (1920x1050, 498K)

No

>non-free
no

Vivaldi is Just a shit

Nah, it's Microsoft Edge.

>It has an OPTIONAL OPTION THAT CAN BE OPTIONALLY OPTIONED that I don't liek

just use lynx, w3m or elinks
whats the name the icon looks kinda slick

I hate the sidebar, and how you're forced to use it

Falkon.

Vivaldi's customizability and extension support + Opera's look and feel would be best.
Actually I would ditch vivaldi if all chrome extensions worked in Opera. They work, but there is an "app" that doesn't work.

>propr*etary
nope

huh I didn't know you could do this thanks

it does have sync

>click new tab + button
>tab gets created right next to active one
>want it to go all the way to the right since that's where the button is. Change it.
>Now right clicking and opening a new tab always sends the new tab to the far right of the list
Halp

>lynx, w3m or elinks
How do I know that I'm not being tracked with these?

How big of a botnet is this browser? Looks really nice, ngl.

I started with opera 5, and recently switched to vivaldi, which is now stable and usable.

Using shift + arrows is comfy as fuck for bed browsing. I missed that feature from opera.

I just discovered that you could put an animated gif as tab bar's background.
My browser is fucking trippy.

As much as I like it try middle clicking a link from the catalog and watch JS fail to load in the new tab. Then try putting the tab bar on the bottom. Flawed and lacking in functionality.

It's proprietary open-source
>muh only the "chromium tweak" are released
the other code is plain text javascript, in the installation folder.
Plain. Text. Javascript. How can this be not open-source. You can read, audit, modify, patch the code...
It just not "free as freedom", because you can't fork it to your own project or redistribute it with your modifications.

tl:dr: open-source, free as free beer, not free as freedom.

I have found the UI and UX great. I really don't care what's under the hood.

>If it wasn't for the fact that it doesn't have browser sync (yet)
jump to the beta version or enable it on vivaldi://experiments/
>your "sync cloud vault" need another password than your vivaldi.net account because of encryption
better than google

There is no reason for me to switch from Firefox

the only thing I want is a built in RSS feed like opera

Can't close browsers with middle mouse click efficiently because my cursor always lands in the white space between the tabs and the top of the screen so in to the trash it goes

Attached: 1478249702545.jpg (1240x786, 175K)

wish it was like this all the time though, not just when maximized, also doesn't seem to work with tiling WM's

Attached: 2018-06-06_15:25:32.png (285x271, 18K)

Hit F4 to show the panel.
Open the tabs panel.
Do whatever you want with your tabs.

you are fucking retarded

I didn't know this was an option and I'm going to give it a second try.

I'd recommend going through the whole settings list, chances are you'll find a bunch of settings you might want to change.
Shit like the accent colors come to mind, looks so fucking bad

Middle mouse button?

I've been using Vivaldi for 2 years and I haven't encountered this bug.

Pretty sure he's referring to the auto-scroll feature.

If you click on the mouse wheel you can then move your mouse up and down to scroll, same if you just hold it down, the problem is that holding it also selects everything at the same time you scroll.

>new
It has always been since the end of opera

It's the new man's (numale's) browser.

Attached: soyboy.png (644x800, 15K)

it's truly the patrician choice

Attached: c0df7414-c4da-449b-a7d2-52e9928604e4.png (1080x1880, 247K)

It has partial open source, the developers believe Google is evil, they make articles focusing on privacy sometimes, and they chose an analytics platform that is open source and doesn't offer to sell data.

What. Vivaldi literally shits over nearly all modern browser in terms of features/customization.

Vivaldi has god-tier extension features embedded already into the Browser without any performance loss .

fpbp

Attached: 1518327126766.gif (128x128, 10K)

worse?

Ah, right, Vivaldi - for when you want some proprietary JavaScript on top of the googleshit engine.

ungoogled chromium is

that looks horrendous

Attached: 1527556003230.jpg (640x628, 114K)

Then it's trash as in trash.

try getting tracked when your browser is not capable of running javascript or css. those fuckers are text only browsers

Brave is the only broswer you need

Or not.they allow some ads etc why not just ungoogled chromium and unlock. It's lighter

Is this bait? Do you even know what you can do with about:config, userChrome.css, userContent.css, and it's APIs? Let me tell you, it's more than any Chromium browser.

No

>proprietary closed source trash heap
>thinking man's browser

Attached: 1510765928213.jpg (500x341, 105K)

Ahem, what happened with Firefox, pray tell?

Attached: zDL7drdrNPaFi.gif (439x200, 1.76M)

>closed source

>chromium isn't unjewgled, so let's use proprietary browsers instead
Current Jow Forums is full of glow in the darks

>using a 14 year olds hobby project
Haha you feget

Yes, closed source.

I dunno, you tell me. What does that have to do with the thread anyway?

>using a 14 year olds hobby project
>Haha you feget
Reads like something a 14 year old would say.

t. retrad

It's not bad, but it kinda suck they have issues with own website and do webbrowsers.

The source code is open

Reads like something a 15 year old would say.

>t. Tetzchner

I installed waterfox-kde this very minute
What am I in for?

Looks like a fresh install.

The side bar you can hide?

Also Tetzchner funds everything out of pocket because of his terrible experiences with outside investors on Opera.

Is vivaldi free software? Can it run in the framebuffer?

I really hope they release an android version soon

The dev is now 17yo

it's almost perfect, because almost everything is customizable. sure you can say that you can do that in firefox too but I haven't seen any extension that can open new tab next to the current perfectly. too bad vivaldi is chromium-based so it's not really portable.

maybe when they clean up that messy as fuck looking theme
