Daily reminder to pacman -Syu
Daily reminder to pacman -Syu
looks like I did this morning.
>tfw you use a rolling release distro effortlessly and watch bitches complain about it day in day out never getting their heads out of their asses.
Thank you, based OP
Is it patrick the penosmaster?
Why do you have so much shit installed?
Don't forget to xbps-install -Su, family. :)
What did I do wrong?
Why not
Just a Patrick that loves Archlinux.
I stopped using Slackware in 2002.
>total installed size: 6137.40 MiB
>what the fuc-
>kde
Lmao
why
>Linux users need to update their colonel in a daily basis or risk getting hit with a 0-day
you can't make this shit up
>their colonel
I fucking love you m8
You used the shittiest Linux distro ever made
>What did I do wrong?
running android
b-but librem 5 is not out yet
>not sudo dnf --refresh -y up
fucking tripfag
i know.
did you pre-order it?
>tfw haven't pacman -Syu'd in weeks
Quick whats the fastest way to backup the entire root directory and transfer it to a clean install?
I hate it these days, too much shit thats dependent on older versions of new software, maybe i should move over to some lts based distro rather then rs.
DD
It wouldn't be a clean install if it was literally just a copy of your old one, lol
Well how else am I supposed to transfer my literal current install to a new drive?
I don't hate it, but it's about time to start looking at other stuff. Back in the day it offered something new but now it's nothing special really. the AUR has degraded almost to the point of the debian/ubuntu package repositories. It's just what happens when things become widely adopted and the user base becomes inclusive of the mainstream
Why would you want to backup the root dir? Just do a fresh install.
dd
I wouldn't exactly call it a clean install though, just a copy of your current install :)
Just copy the config files
am i doing it rite?
>doing any of this manually
Might aswell, actually
I have 4 times as much SSD space now, should I go for the full KDE experience?
Not yet. But I've been very interested in the development
There was a 1 hour live stream 3 weeks ago with the CEO of purism, and it's pretty much settled any concerns I had. Once they're nearing release, I'll definitely order one
fucking kek did you scrot your whole screen and then crop out your terminal?
typical retarded fucking tripfags, using niggershit OS fits as well
Sure why not, I like KDE and sometimes I use it too but most of the time I settle just with a window manager like bspwm and QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME="kde" so all qt applications look just like in KDE but being snapier. Make sure to install all of your current packages if you want to (if you're on Arch use pacman -Q to get a list)
Thanks for the recommendations F A M
Is the blur update out yet?
6 days ETA
forget to update for a single day and you will see this
>not pacman -Syyu
never go full pacman -Syu.
I have learned over time that when I'm working on anything, I never update my system, ever.
>pacman -Syu daily
>kde still breaks every other month
This. Just did it yesterday.
Have never had this issue and I update every 2 weeks
I'll do it tomorrow, I have meeting this evening
>not yaourt -Syyu --aur --noconfirm
>Wasting time updating your system daily.
Just set up automatic daily updates on stable distro (debian) or update your distro every two weeks on a rolling release.
oh great, I couldn't wait much longer to get updates for haskell-fuckyou0 haskell-fuckyou1 haskell-fuckyou2 haskell-fuckyou3 haskell-fuckyou4 haskell-fuckyou5 haskell-fuckyou6 haskell-fuckyou7 haskell-fuckyou8 haskell-fuckyou9 haskell-fuckyou10 haskell-fuckyou11 haskell-fuckyou12 .. haskell-fuckyou159 and haskell-fuckyou160
I do it every day though
What did I do wrong?
>pacaur -Syu
How will yaourt fags ever recover?
who the fuck still uses yaourt? it's pacaur all the way.
>using unmaintained package managers
I seriously hope you girls don't do this
My arch borked after a Pacman -Syu the other day, with yay complaining that pacman isn't in the repos anymore.
I want to move to void.
i do -Syuu
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade && scrot
What's the difference?
you forgot dist-upgrade
it unlocks NSA toolbox update
yaourt is the best, fuck off
