INTEL ON MELTDOWN

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Holy shit I can't believe they actually revealed 32 TR2 now after Intel did that retarded compressor.

It's another shoah

The dude kept mentioning how they don't need special cooling, lmao.

HOLY FUCK INTEL IS LITERALLY FINISHED AND BANKRUPT.

why do AMD guys do this to me?

Attached: 87361847.jpg (1200x1553, 393K)

Kek, meanwhile Intel has to ship broken 10nm CPU while AMD is rocking 7nm.

Yeh. The fact he repeated it cracked me up.

"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain."

"Pay no attention to the nitrogen cooling system."

>32 core
>64 threads
>doesn't mention it's at 2.7Ghz

Where did it all go so wrong ;_;

Intel's monolith die is that base speed.

With Threadripper's spread out design, they should have way more headroom.

Wow, nice. Glad to see my expectations of a third-gen Threadripper with 24 cores have turned out to be waaay too small.

Even at 4 Ghz it can only be like 500w though. Intelferno will hit 800w+

K I K E R I P P E R

>250W TDP
jesus, if that's the stock TDP, probably pulls 400w+ once decently OC'd.

Meanwhile Intel's 18c housefire has 2.6GHz base clock, lmao.

>same socket
>more cores than Intlel corelets

So it's useful for the AMDrones that want to pretend they're actually doing something with their shitposting machine besides gaming?

there's literally zero mentions of 250W tdp

i mean isn't it double the cores? 180*2 = 360 so 250 ain't that much

>lead Intel spy into believing AMD will max at 24 cores with 3 dies
>Intel smugly teases 28 core nuclear reactor
>AMD's face when all dies are A C T I V E

Attached: smug cosplaying hyouka.gif (533x300, 2.02M)

That's assuming the same clockspeed, we can pretty damn sure it wont be at all near that clockspeed. The 1950x is at 3.4Ghz, i'd estimate the 32 core is somewhere around 2.8Ghz, maybe 3.0 or 3.1Ghz if they have good binning.

>32 cores for under 2000 dollars

how will intel ever recover?

They tease their 28 core nuclear reactor doing 5ghz on ALL cores. That's pretty impressive desu, if they can actually release it with a 5ghz clock speed at stock that would be VERY impressive.

Wait so is the threadripper 2 chipset still only going to have 64 pcie lanes? Because if they could go up to 128 now that would be insane.

>under 2000 dollars

antisemite

Nah it will probably be above 2000 still. Would be crazy to price it any lower. AMD has been absolute madlad lately though so who actually knows.

Yup

Attached: 1524510604397.jpg (396x417, 16K)

no one is buying a $5000 cpu along with a $1500 mobo, installing a chilled WC loop and upgrading their house's electrical installation so they can risk dying of 4th degree burns

They diverted their entire R&D fund into marketing. Thought they could sell a CPU based on 'image' and bollocks brand loyalty. They were ok for the first few years because AMD had nothing. Intel's mistake was thinking somehow that AMD would never make a product to rival it. As in, never ever.

>if they can actually release it with a 5ghz clock speed at stock

Ah... to be 15-years-old again.

That was basically a PR stunt.

You might get a 4.7 to 5 GHz 2-core Turbo speed out that chip.

>AMD's face when intel CPU is $6.000

Attached: 37864812764.jpg (600x603, 39K)

They still need some differentiation between TR and Epyc so I think they will have TR get gimped PCIe and other features compared to Epyc so it doesn't cannibalize it. They could probably get away with putting in some more PCIe lanes, SATA ports and memory, but still keep it below being a cheaper Epyc.

Their yields are so good they probably sold 1700s as 1200s to cover all the price points.

>along with a $1500 mobo
Current rumor is that it's for the X299 socket and will be ~300W TDP using a dual-die14-core design and an on-die QPI or EMIB.

It will "only" have 64 still, almost 100% on this.

did you even take a look at the board they were running that thing?

>caring about cores
Muh cores is fucking stupid, only specific applications can benefit from more cores. This even applies to some workstation uses, where the program relies upon more on GPU acceleration than CPU usage its better to have a faster CPU than more cores

Attached: cores v clocks.png (1329x718, 1.27M)

Dude it had 6 VRM fans.

>glued togetther desktop dies shit over a bingbingbongbus2
>Muh inconsistent perf/latency
LOL intel shitting their pants

Why would be better than i7 newest generation?
For gaming the only thing that matter is not throtting with the gpu
For linux distros and open programs, even a atom or a sempron is enought.
For servers old xeon are enought
Most Jow Forums are poor as fuck and most of thinkpads uses intel cpu. Why Jow Forums jack of so hard to amd?

Well at CES supermicro rated their X299 board as supporting 300w CPUs, and no such CPUs currently exist.

>2x 144w from 8 pin cpu

I thought KIKERIPPER was 16 cores

800watt+ what the fuck

There's nothing impressive about a 1000W TDP nuclear reactor of a CPU that probably requires LN2 to cool

They already confirmed 64 cores with Zen2 EPYC, right? We might get that on the desktop as well.

Holy fucking shit

current rumor is 300w TDP released on x299 to compete with this 32 core from AMD.

> Intel tries to be slick and rush out some ghetto ass 28 core rig using dusty ass Xeons

Nigga Intel's 18 core already goes up to almost 500W and it's not even at 5GHz.

wtf is that?
I counted 30 voltage regulators and chokes
is it a gag or legit?

on 14nm no less

12nm actually.. TR2.0 is 12nm which is why they could pack it and keep the clocks w/ 32 cores. Looks like my 1950x is going up on ebay.

> 300W
you mean 750W under load.

See anandtech.com/show/12907/we-got-a-sneak-peak-on-intels-28core-all-you-need-to-know

This was the machine they used for their presentation.

$20 says they're super highly binned 8180, or some crazy super high binned dual die 14-core design using QPI or similar.

you where saying?

RIPPED

this pic shows active cooling for what appears to be 30 fucking phases which means that those phases are reaching their operational limit of 105ºC outputting their max of 60amps at 500khz switching freq. That in turn, means that cpu is churning an excess of 400 amps.
holy shit.

12nm is just an optimization to 14nm, or what Intel would call 14nm+

hahahahahahahhahaha INTEL 10TH GENERATION BTFO
