Holy fuck I think the exact same thing. It feels like every AMD post is always "get ready guys, intel's gonna be btfo THIS TIME" and it never fucking happens. I'm sure there are people who don't know better that get swept up in the hype and that's what AMD is banking on.
They literally do not have the money to compete with intel or nvidia anymore. If you haven't noticed, all either company does is wait for AMD to catch up to their last-generation before releasing a new one. R&D takes time and investment, and AMD has neither.

Vega was the most shilled product on Jow Forums in years. Every single GPU thread you had somebody saying Nvidia was going to be bankrupt and spamming the Vega whitepaper. Any criticism of Vega was met with "muh primitive shaders," it's ridiculous that AMD dropped support for implicit shaders after Vega's launch despite that being the main selling point.
