If you know Java just do a native app.
If you want to make something cross-platform, use react-native, angular/ionic or dart/flutter.

I need a dictionary app. It needs to:
Allow the user to search for a word and then display the coresponding word if there is a match
If there is no match, let the user submit the word so I can add it to the dictionary
A half decent UI
I want the source code and some help compiling it on my own
I have the wordlist
I can pay in crypto for the job

Prerequisite for this: install at least 16gb or memory in your pc or laptop. AS is a wildly resource hungry beast. I crash it daily with 12gb on my work laptop.

That's a shit laptop then faggot. I use it with 8 gigs and it's never crashed on me. It can get pretty fucking slow if you use the emulator at the same time though.
Java is enough if you want to make something simple.

I jumped into a game a few years back. The main problem is the phone environment, look and feel and customizing it to a "game". There is a lot of styling bullshit first timers need to get used to and there are no actual good guides to this, ended up butchering it and dropped the app all together because I couldn't be fucked going through it and removing all my spaghetti look and feel hacks.
