So si then?

What I'm curious is, no one even bother uploading the raw anymore to pantsu.

rapidshare

si because based people like daiz and herkz and xythar support it

I wonder why.

>Jow Forums

It's amazing how much of a shitshow the unofficial anime and manga scene is. How does this even happen. How does someone have "pull" in a scene for illegally translating things?

How the fuck anime scene is Jow Forums related?
They didn't create the uploads.

Reminder that herkz is an "editor" that barely knows English and actually failed Mangagamer's editor test.

/a/ mods are retarded. Apparently one of them didn't even know that Bo-BoBo was an anime and kept deleting threads about it.

I upload to Anidex, pantsu, and TT.
I don't upload to si because I don't support the cartel.
Fansubbing is dead anyways.

Doing work "for free" attracts people who want to get paid in attention instead. It only follows that these people are the most egotistical and childish ones capable of doing the bare minimum job. Get enough of them together and they protect each other not out of camaraderie but self-preservation.

is that why you only upload dubs to pantsu?

Enjoy your lack of downloads :^}

Anime is technology

Mods are global. When other boards like /v/ and Jow Forums outgrew /a/, they brought in normalfags who eventually became mods themselves. So now when /a/ mods try to moderate Jow Forums they get demodded on the spot, while shit-ass mods get to fuck with /a/.

Mods deleted a naruto thread of mine just because people report it. It makes zero sense.

Liking Naruto is a bannable offence. So is being under 18.

Attached: 1518002405102.png (757x243, 19K)

It's obviously because you're not making Franxx threads.

/a/ has no room to be this elitist with all the garbage that gets talked about there.

anime website

Good news: being a bitch is bannable too!

>raw
Who gives a fuck?

This thread is about torrents, not just anime

Attached: 1522754220987.jpg (669x746, 42K)

I don't upload dubs.
I don't do it for the downloads.

Talking about good anime and manga might as well be too considering how rare it is.

Be the change you want to see! Report shounen threads, mock them when they leave their containment generals, and post good shows. Or just keep being a whiny bitch. That's easier, I guess.

>make thread about something
>gets maybe 5 posts before dying

I see you have chosen the bitch route.

It wasn't about naruto though it just had a picture of naruto in the OP and it wasn't against the rules either. So its deletion made zero sense.
>hurr you're just underage
Is just conformist shit. Naruto is a great anime and you don't even understand why. Do you know what type of anime 2009 /a/ liked? Evangelion, Ghibli shit. It was invested with casual tripfaggots that couldn't articulate their opinion for shit.

I feel like I'm really missing out not watching that all things considered. Maybe I should pick it up again.

I don't think mods are global. You can get away with pretty much shitposting in /ptg/ for instance. But no way you can on /a/.

Naruto is a gateway anime of the worst kind. It's a bad series, a clusterfuck of story and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive shipping faggotry and DARKNESS. The normal user can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the series itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad.

However, these very aspects that try to smear over the shit of its core make it a breeding ground for aspie, unsociable underageb& faggots who engage in every kind of faggotry both online and in the real world. The superpowered characters all trying their hardest to look cool, the jutsus, peculiar, colorful clothes, the whole ninja faggotry and everything about the Naruto world fuels their escapist fantasies, while the pity-party character backgrounds, emphasis on revenge, and overall preachiness of the series make it fit just right with the mary-sueish drives of your average preteen and his sense of unwarranted self-importance towards the world. Exactly the kind of shit that makes little kiddies and underageb& retards eat this shit right the fuck up.

Naruto is basically THE series to attract the most hated anime fanbase known to /a/, which is why, regardless of individual opinions, it is the responsibility of every user to troll the fuck out of this show and everyone who likes it, and ensure that no Naruto threads ever encourage the newfriends to show their faces here.

Nice pasta. Have you noticed all the HXH shitposting recently though? I don't even like Naruto but there's nothing about that series that's different than any other shitty shonen series like MHA or Black Clover.

Yeah. Shitposts like this. 2009's /a/ was full of them.

you make it sound like this is a bad thing
we need more dedicated people like this or else all you'll ever get are CR subs with meme edits

What we need is more groups doing OVAs and movies.
Instead we get CR edits with better TS, proper QC, OP/ED lyrics, and sometimes better encode.
Which is nice and all, but I'd much rather take seasonal anime with slightly worse subs but we get many more OVAs and movies.

This doesn't get more dedicated people though. Horriblesubs just rips official subs put up on Crunchyroll to release for free. There's almost nobody subbing anime anymore. Manga still has people translating things but you have a million groups working on the same shit that would get translated regardless, both officially and unofficially while tons and tons of manga both in the past and that are currently ongoing don't get translated and aren't popular enough to get officially licensed.

si because it isnt run by autists

I'll take autists over cartel any day.

si because idgaf

no one because theres no way to filter or ban that fucking fapforfun user who put tons of repeated shit on the tracker without seeds and all the image links are links to his fuking blog.

if hotlinking of an image is not the norm then both are trash to me.

there are plenty image sites that allow lewd shit. theres no excuse

fuck that user. hes cancer.on both trackers

I wanted to use pantsu, but everyone comes out too slow there.

>cartel
what

Attached: fansub cartel.png (1605x771, 157K)

Fansubbing is led by an attention whoring Twitter tranny

To be fair, 99% of these groups are dead now.

from what I remember, si was written in python3, su was written in Go. I only remember seeing one particularly active dev on si but she seemed pretty active. the su folks seemed like a clusterfuck of people upset about things i didn't care about.

Attached: 1526867529663.jpg (940x518, 267K)

>everything is done by Crunchy (HS) except 1 or 2 non simulcasted shows per season
>hurrrr muh currtelll

What I don't understand is why the cartel is so autistic about localization.
I mean, if you enjoy over-localized trash that doesn't even make sense outside of the US half of the times, and want to make localized subs filled with dated memes, good for you. But why in the hell there's a need to advocate for the elimination of actual fansubs that don't want to make over-localized trash?
Why is the current "fansub" scene handled by a bunch of circlejerking retards with shit taste (even by anime standards) who get off to attention? How did this happen?

The people in charge are still around. They don't sub anymore because fansubbing is dead. They like to keep whatever control they can get to feel relevant.
Not sure how it started, but if you didn't conform to their standards you'd get shit on. Worst case scenario you'd get you're torrents deleted from Nyaa and banned.
For other reasons, look away Doki: they were banned from uploading on Nyaa. I heard the reason was someone who was high up on Nyaa's devs wasn't allowed to join, so they banned Doki from Nyaa. Could be wrong on a few details, but I think that's the gist.
In essence, the cartel is filled with people who get off on attention and put down competitors to keep that attention.

I forgot the official reason why Doki was banned, but it was definitely something retarded and the cartel was just powertripping.

>but movies
Movies get official subs all the time. Animated movies (from Japan) just tend to suck.
>muh OVAs
Really not much better. Instead of a minimum of 2 you now have japs trying to tell a story in less than 2 hours time. OVAs are shit. The reason they're not getting subbed is because they're terrible.

>99%
Let me list some active ones.
>Doki
>Coalgirls
>Chihiro
This does not calculate to 99%.

OVAs are usually longer than movies. 6 30 minute episodes is fairly common and you even had something like LotGH that was over 100 episodes and was an OVA. OVAs just don't make money anymore (though streamed anime like on Netflix is starting to be a thing) but you might have some made occasionally still.

>OVAs are usually longer than movies
Feel free to back this up with statistics. OVAs are shitty b-movies with nothing going for them. That's why they're not getting subs. Grow some fucking standards already. And that's ignoring the ones that are just advertisements for their source material. I'm speaking of original OVAs alone because why else would you watch an OVA?

And not to completely shit on the, not that I feel the need to say something nice about them, but some of the cartel groups do put out high quality content.
There are some very talented people who do impressive things with TS and karaoke, I really wish I had the patience and computer skills for that.
This might sound like me being jealous, but sometimes I feel like all that effort isn't exactly worth it. I can only recall one time where the subtitles were so bad that it was hard to enjoy something (it was Harunatsu's release of a OPM OVA). While I really wish CR had karaoke and decent TS, their editing, translations, and timing are usually just fine, and hardly ever impact a show. Every now and then you'll get a show where they do some weird things and it's not great, but they're not that common.
A lot of older shows whose subs are trash in comparison to what some groups do today aren't ruined by the outdated subtitles.

In addition to this, when I was subbing frequently and doing 3 shows a season, it was harder to watch anime casually because I couldn't help but notice tons of mistakes. Wrong dashes, punctuation order, timing off by a frame or two, all sorts of minute things. But when I'd take a break for a few months, I'd stop noticing them.
I think the cartel people who sub stuff every season and have for years find it hard to enjoy subs that aren't pristine because they have a good eye and notice tiny mistakes. So when they notice them, and here's where powertripping also comes in, they'll shit on the subs. Granted, a mistake's a mistake, but they take it to the next level.

>autism

Official subs usually aren't very good in comparison to what a lot of fansubs can do.

By OVAs I mean ones that are bundled with BDs of shows, where they don't need to tell an anime's worth of a story, it's just an extra episode. There's no discernible loss in quality between a series and its OVA.
They're not trying to tell a 2 hour story, they're trying to tell a 20 minute story, like a normal anime episode because that's what they are.
If you're under the impression I mean stand alone OVAs, you're wrong.
Which OVAs have you watched that have given you this opinion?

Oh. You mean the ones that aren't longer than movies but you say they were just a post ago?

That was a different user.
I'm I'm referring to OVAs that are bonus episodes to (typically 1-2 cour) anime series.

>find it hard to enjoy subs that aren't pristine because they have a good eye and notice tiny mistakes
unanimated.github.io/wall-of-shame/index.htm

Those aren't really the kind of mistakes I was after.
More of the differences between -, –, and —.
Or between !? and ?!
Those from the link are pretty funny, and many of them are inexcusable. They could all be solved with a proper QC. I hate saying that sometimes mistakes just happen, which they do, even professionals make mistakes now and then, too, but this is classic cartel behavior of dedicating a web page to laughing at people's mistakes.

I haven't watched or heard of every single OVA but the stuff I've watched at least were longer than movies.

>Patlabor (7 30 minute episodes)
>Gunbuster (6 30 minute episodes)
>LotGH (110 30 minute episodes)
>Jojo 90s OVA (13 30 minute episodes)
>FLCL (6 30 minute episodes)
>Bubblegum Crisis (8 30 minute episodes)
>Most of the Tenchi Muyo OVAs were around 6-7 episodes each

Devilman Crybaby is kind of a modern incarnation of an OVA, being a streaming series and that's 10 episodes. There are single episode OVAs but it's not like OVA series were rare. Maybe saying "most" was a mistake but plenty of the popular ones were longer than movies on average. It's also kind of stupid to call them b movies since while they usually were lower budget than movies they were still generally higher budget/quality than TV series.

animebytes

si because it has made the best effort to be like old nyaa.

/a/ talks about 'good' anime all the time. You're just a fucking newfag that doesn't know that 'all the time' means every few days/weeks. Constantly discussing the same 'good' 50 anime of all time would just create a bunch of retarded /lain general/ threads. Generals are fucking cancer so /a/ topically discusses new shows, which usually aren't good. If you only want threads on 'good' anime, just browse the fucking archives. Also, your taste is shit and your favorite anime is trash. Stop browsing /a/, it's better without you there.

I'm talking about new/currently running series. /a/'s taste is incredibly surface level, especially when it comes to manga.

It used to be a bannable offence, the fact it's not anymore shows how dead /a/ is.

I'd be fine with it if they did it with other similar garbage but singling out Naruto while leaving similar or worse shit alone is retarded.

You mean filler shit from incomplete adaptations? Those get subs all the time.

Yeah. You watched less than 10. Can you see where I'm coming from at this point?
>devilman is an OVA
No, it's just marketed as one. It aired on TV just fine.

I don't think Devilman Crybaby aired on TV anywhere. It was a Netflix production. Not exactly an OVA but similar. Devilman did have a couple single episode OVA releases in the 80s/90s too. And that's not all the OVAs I've seen or know about I just figured you wouldn't need an exhaustive list. I was too quick to say "most" though, but your post was phrased as if you thought OVAs were all shorter than movies, which is also wrong and I gave you plenty of examples of popular OVAs that weren't.
