That's German not Italian fren
grüezi*
he tried swiss geman, but you're somewhat right, it comes from the italian.
"grazie" -> "grüezi"
ah okay fren
want sosig?
Well to be honest I just didn't think about it, but I think there are some italian speakers in switzerland anyway, right?
wotsch es würschtli?
(say it like that: "wotch as wurchdlee" (pronounce in english))
That's why I use french and italian words in my
german vocabulary. More french, but whatever.
I...I know a little German, Bernd...
Interesting. We learned little about the people of Switzerland in school (I know, big surprise) but it's very cool to learn more. What are the stereotypes of your accent that people who speak the language "properly" have?

Viellicht chasch ja es bizli düütsch, aber schwiizerdütsch wirsch nie chönne!
Geez that was hard to read.
I mean just difficulty-wise too. I only know a little German.
Tell me about the swiss, why do they not use the estsett?
Gute Nacht und süße Träume, Bernd
I think he meant "Even though you know a little German, Swiss German is not the same"
My German sucks too so maybe I'm wrong
That it's not german.
But it is, even though we always mix some words from the french and italian in it. Saying "Merci", "Grüezi", "Ade!" is common, but we also don't say "Brieftasche" (wallet), rather "Portemonnaie".
Often, germans who come here can't comprehend the way we speak, so it's pretty annoying to repeat everything we tell them in high german. That's one reason the people here don't like germans too much.
I don't know why, but I'm happy with it. It would be just another difficulty. I can't see any difference between the double-s and the eszett anyway.
"Maybe you know a little German, but you will never know Swiss German!"
But you were very close.

Okie goodnight cutie no*l
I thought he said something along the lines of "You might [something] a little German, but Swiss German is never beautiful!" but I felt I was wrong.
>That it's not german. (and the rest)
That sounds really funny and honestly how a lot of y*nkees act when they come down here.
>ß bit
I like the ß but it's certainly not necessary. I don't mind just using the double s when writing regular German either, a lot of people did it when we were learning in school.
>"Maybe you know a little German, but you will never know Swiss German!"
>But you were very close.
Ah... forgot that schöne (chönne) could mean beautiful AND "well".
no u
"chönne" here means "können" in high german.
"chönne" = "können" = "can"
ich chan
ich kann
i can
Oh, I must have gotten the words mixed around then. I gotta brush up on it either way.
Thanks for entertaining my dumb questions btw
