Don't get me wrong but older cars are actually a lot more reliable than the computerized shitboxes out there today. Safer? Maybe not, but at least they won't break down as much with proper maintenance.

A Fiesta ST and an S2000. The latter doesn't get enough use lately, it's rapidly turning into a collectible enough car that I'm getting more and more afraid to have fun with it.

Ironically enough /o/ is probably the worst place on all of Jow Forums to discuss cars these days. It's nothing but busriding shitposters.

I have a lot of maintenance ahead of me this year.

Drove two Ford Rangers from 2001 - 2014. Very reliable truck. Not the tank/electronic loaded shit they call trucks now. I honestly think the new Ranger will be a shit fest, nothing but the name being any good. From 2014 - present I drive an 05 Corolla. It's been a good car to. I do city driving mostly so I don't rack up the miles like I used to.

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. In green. 4.7L V8 and I also have a sizable bumper guard. 15.4 average mpg.

2004 PT Cruiser Turbo (Touring Edition). Would take pics of mine but it's dark out and it's a black car. Also I'm too lazy to get up, get dressed, go up a flight of stairs, out of my building, down another flight of stairs, walk 100 yards, take a picture, and reverse course, and then get comfy again

Sorry dude, but I think you have possibly the worst car you could have purchased

Ghost Town, but the album overall was "pretty decent". Nothing near his best work, but certainly not close to 808 either. Solid middle.

why does subaru have that /out/ stigma. what makes a subaru better for going outside than any other car besides the advertising.

'98 Cavalier

A few things that made me get the Forester over a CX5 or something:

>more ground clearance
>solid AWD performance, especially in snow (practically unbeatable, and that matters since I live in a place that can see ~6ft of snow dropped over night)
>strong community and sites that do all sorts of shit to their vehicles
>maintenance is super easy and things are "just where they should be" i.e. an oil change takes 20 minutes top.
>engine lasts for-fucking-ever if maintenance schedule is properly followed. 150K+ miles easily

And a bunch of other smaller things. I've heard about the weird shit Subaru does to make up for bad experiences and taking car of people. Some dude had a fucking $700 dyson vacuum sent to him from Subaru of America when he complained that the cloth of the car was made such that it made getting dog hair out hard.

>stigma
I don't think that means what you think it means

Anyway they're not the best for off-road, just better than your average sedan because they have all wheel drive and relatively high clearance. Not as much utility as a jeep or a truck, but more tolerable to drive and own

>150k is forever

Nigga, my last 3800 lasted 535k, it would have kept running strong, but the trans finally kicked the bucket and I couldn’t see dumping a grand into a car worth less than my boxer shorts.

Corolla 05. Gonna drive it until it explodes, then buy a better car. Can't say having a luxury or sports car has ever been my interest, I'd rather buy other cool tech.

96 Ranger 4.0 4wd
93 Plymouth Acclaim (gramma car bought from a real gramma) 75,000 miles

There's no way that at 535k you had your first trans replacement, though. I've seen 500K 3800's but certainly they've been 3 to 4 transmissions to hit that, regardless of car.

Also get the fuck out of here gramps.

That’s only because no one ever services their trans. I rebuilt it once.

Anyone know of any decent forums for the tech side of cars?
Driving a Mk7 Golf and I can't find a way to delete the saved contacts from when I connected my phone to it once. It's an ex fleet car that's also got two other phone's contacts in it, with >1000 numbers between them.
I want to pull the numbers from it or at the very least delete it.

Reset the bluetooth settings on the stereo. If that doesn't work just replace it with something better.

2018 Subaru Forester 2.5i Touring... I spend all of my vacation out. Just got back from hiking under the rim trail in bryce.

I love my Subaru, I am a walking stereotype.

Not him but some of the older ones can be cheap as $1300? This one would be about that range. Everyone wants new and shiny instead of old and reliable. Here, ~2010+ models are the rolex of the middle class.

2002 Toyota Camry.

Has over 300k km on it and it still runs like a boss. Zero major repair issues. Too many people for the meme of buying new cars.

Ayeee Subiegang. The "Subaru vehicles only" parking spots at some of the trails/hills are really nice too :^)

Been reset, still there. I can't see what the numbers are as it's not in the address book and off-hand can't remember where in the settings it mentioned it but it shows the name and amount of phone numbers stored.

>ex fleet car
Chances are it might be burned into memory.

Judging by the condition, it looks like you know exactly what you're driving. So, how is it to drive?

How far is your commute and what’re the conditions like normally?
What bike do you have?
I was looking to upgrade my old steel frame bike for a Trek Domane aluminum frame once I saved up the money.

I’ve been wanting to start cycling to work but drivers down here in Texas are so shit (goddamn Mexicans) I’m afraid I’d get hit.
I’ve already been rear-ended twice by those shit-for-brains. Why can’t they leave their third world driving habits in their own shitty country?

No words describe how much I love the old BMW cars.

ur mom

A FIAT 500e.

I saw a really pretty PT Cruiser with a modified trunk that had a Lincoln Continental-style trunk with the fake spare wheel hump. It was classy.

So I know this ain't /o/, but why wouldn't I sell my 12 year old car, get some cash, and put money down on a leased Alfa Romeo Giulia?

Its really fun. a real drivers car. closest i describe it to is a 90's integra type R but from the 70's so a little rougher.

I made one good Lancia from 2 and literally pulled every every single thing apart and cleaned and reassembled it over a decade. I know literally every single bolt of that car. My aim wasn't to make a super fast car but understand the engineering of cars at every single level. I learned so much and ended with a rare classic in incredibly good condition.

Wish i had more photos of the engine rebuild as those enginers were literally art - but they are buried away at home.
