It's far from perfect.

Trisquel

Ubuntu sucks Gnome 3 sucks

NixOS > Arch > openSUSE > Solus
If you are too retarded for NixOS/Arch, just use openSUSE/Solus

I'm good on arch
I like popping an install media, hitting a few buttons, and be done with it

Grow up and use openSUSE

Gentoo is the comfiest os
The only Linux distro that has "just werked" out of the box

If by "out of the box" you mean "the next day when it finishes compiling" then sure.

Linux Mint 19 is close to a full release. Been testing the beta on other desktop and it's fucking fantastic.

Hi erik.

kde neon is better.

I'm excited for it myself

good entry level distro desu

>NixOS
What does NixOS offer that is better than Solus?

They mention that they do things differently with the package manager but I do not see why I should bother with that for regular use

For example :
- you can just copy paste your configuration files and it will install everything and it will work
- Configuration is done declaratively
- If you are a developer, your app needs some dependencies and your target user has nix you can write a nix expression from which he can install the app and it will just work
- NixOps

And a lot of other things I don't know yet because I'm still noob. GuixSD is also beautiful but has less packages and takes time to compile.

>install mint
>wonder why everything is so slow
>open process manager thingy
>100% cpu on everything
yeah, great OS you got there OP.

>install linux mint
>screen tearing everywhere
>install nvidia drivers to fix the issue
>reboot into blackscreen
rofl

>GuixSD has less packages
in GuixSD you can install nix. Also docker works.

Lubuntu works for me but I am glad to hear you are enjoying using free software

Budgie anyone?

Linux is the name of the kernel that Linus Torvalds developed starting in 1991. The operating system in which Linux is used is basically GNU with Linux added. To call the whole system “Linux” is both unfair and confusing. Please call the complete system GNU/Linux, both to give the GNU Project credit and to distinguish the whole system from the kernel alone.

GuixSD > NixOS
