This thread is about the appreciation of watches and horology, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
What should I put it on, apart from the obvious black croc?

Eulit perlon maybe?

Thanks. You can just manual wind it, you know. Remove the rotor if you really want.

Looking forward to your thoughts on that family of movements. It's one of the greatest series produced automatic movement designs, ever, considering how many of them passed chronometer testing with a 19,800 bph beat rate.

Pretty legit taste, I have to say.

user, could help me for a sec, please? My orient weekly's plexi is broken and I want to replace it. I know it's 33.8 mm. Is there a place at budapest, where I could buy a replacement for cheap or should I just ebay/zen one and play the waiting game?
Dylan Hughes
God damn bro. Do you hire?
Jonathan Richardson
Nice. What do you wear when it is pouring rain out? Rolex?

Krono KFT has a shitton of crystals, but I'm not sure if they serve non-watchmakers. Either way if they ask you found them through Google, I don't want to end up on some naughty-list for revealing our secrets.
The world is not ready to know how much batteries, crystals and watch movements REALLY cost.

# # I'm literally just looking for a watch friend, I've posted my Sea-Dweller DeepSea and Speedy on here many times, no need to rob someone and commit multiple felonies over a measly $55k lol.
Yes-yes I am prepared. Should I just confidently walk in and hand over a list or something ? Obviously my horological power-level isn't enough to LARP as a watchmaker.
Also I won't dox you not on 4chin, not irl.

I used to be the same. Loved the AP Royal Oak when I first saw it, thought the Nautilus was "meh"
However the more I've seen of the AP and all it's bastard variants (RO Offshore - puke) the less I like it. Every time I see a Nautilus in person the more I like it. The Patek is also a good investment, the price just doesn't stop climbing. I also heard Patek have closed all new orders on their sports watches for a few years so even more in demand!
Wyatt Morris
Damn it's always the software guys. Do you just freelance? What do you do? I should have gone into software. I don't do to bad as a mech engineer but not several lange, pateks and rolexes well.

Bring the empty case. Ask for the crystal you need. See if it fits (or in case of domed acrylic if it's just barely larger), but don't try to force it like an asshole, because you break it you buy it. When you're done you pay with cash, they'll ask whether the invoice will be for a company or a private individual. You're not doing a supply run for a watch repair shop/jewelry store, so you're a private individual.
I don't know if there's a minimal price you need to meet, but in case you do just pick out a Fluco strap.

Full time. Finally got lucky with a startup, I've been in a many, and had stock. I guess my role would be called a "Full Stack Developer" these days but I've been doing it for years before it became the latest in-demand job title.

>some faggot, silicon valley liberal is walking around with a watch collection worth more than most people's homes in america
public bourgeois killing when???
Christopher Turner
Jealousy is not the reason for purging the society my friend.
truly shows the scope of your lack of complex thought processing, if you think jealousy is the reason for my statements.
It's the fact that some low-life can sit in a cubicle and type on a computer, and can make such an exponentially larger sum of money than the laborer that built his desk or building. Bourgeois of society like this jerk-off should be publicly murdered and have his possessions sold for the welfare of the people and the state.
Ian Bell
> silicon valley liberal Well I can't deny that is true.
> worth more than most people's homes in america Not around here it's not! Fucking tech company price inflation.
I'm not even that well off compared to many people around here and what do they all wear? Apple Watches.
Jordan Brown
Your own statement proves your stupidity and shows your reasoning is just based on jealousy.
Only reason that guy has the money is because he can create wealth with his time input. Notice that even if he seems to be high up in the ladder of society, the only reason he is able to create such wealth for himself is because he can provide even more value to investors aka the big companies etc "real money" people.
Every action you take basically drives this development ending up distributing the wealth to the richest few who are the true kings of this society.
Ayden Sanchez
Forgot my point.
It's not his fault for taking the only path laid out to him and people taking focus on these new money stories are focusing on the wrong points.
Also this development can't be stopped.
Mason Bailey
I will live the rest of my life, and do everything in my power, to make sure that you bourgeois are taken over by the working peoples who deserve far better than the treatment of you.
You think you are progressive but you do not know what true progression is. You think you are ((liberal)) but your kind are as authoritarian as it gets. And you idle through your pitiful, gluttonous lifestyle thinking you are benefiting someone other than your circle of authoritarian pigs.
You are the modern day slave owners, history will repeat itself. During the imminent red wave you will be choking on your own blood as the laborer who you once paid $1/hour to put together your iPhones shadows over you, watching you gasp for a few last breaths, replacing you in the New World Society. One of true equality and liberty.

vintage seiko... new nato strap.
originally came with a leather strap but, I found this one on ebay and it was a genuine seiko nato strap so... looks like I bought like this though.
The other problem is that the side of the plexi isn't flat, it has a flat outer ring that fits between the case and a bezel. Like on those old cornavin watches. How common is this?

You're a funny guy. I smirked.

There's been a spate of watch robberies all over London over the last month. Slavs on mopeds approach richfags in their cars or standing in the street and take their watches.
I'm hoping to pick up a Rolex soon at a good price.
Are you sure it's plexi glass and not just hard mineral glass?
Also with special profiles you might be better off finding the Orient service center.
Noah Harris
Interesting. I was just in Vegas for the weekend and saw either a RO or an Offshore on seemingly every wrist of the rich foreigners, but never saw a Nautilus. It’s certainly a much rarer watch and you’re right about the value. My hopes of eventually buying one continue to diminish as Patek prices continue to skyrocket.

Moped thugs who robbed school run mum of £25k Rolex at knifepoint and dragged her along road in front of her kids are caught on camera
Could the local orient service center help me get a replacement part for a model that was released in the '60s?

You are so right about Vegas. My god the amount of ugly watches on display there is unreal. I love the place, well the poker, but taste isn't in abundance there.

While moped-related attacks across the UK have risen an astounding 1,000 per cent in the past three years.
The 19,000 attacks in 2017 have risen from just 1,053 in 2014, with the bikes themselves being stolen to use in the crimes.
CRIME levels have soared by more than 50 per cent in some parts of the UK as the latest stats show the country has seen it's biggest violent surge in 15 years.
As an epidemic of shootings, stabbings and moped muggings grips Britain, newly released figures reveal violence reported to cops in England and Wales rose by 14 per cent last year.

So I've been thinking about getting a winder. I only need a single-watch model and my main concerns are that it's relatively inexpensive and doesn't make a lot of noise (since it'll be in my bedroom.) Any suggestions?
