im going to be on the sex offender registry, should I even bother with an IT education/career? anyone have any idea about being an EMT/paramedic? canuck btw.

How do i start learning linux? Ive played around in the past and am no stranger to computers but this time i really, really want to learn it through and through. And get off the botnet that is win10

>emt/paramedic
Nope, you would be by children. You have a better chance of being in the office away from children

is there a program like garage band for linux?

Pick it up and start doing things with it. Run it on your laptop, or a spare computer. You don't have to go full Gentoo right from the start. If you know how hard disk partitions work you already have enough knowledge to install most mainstream distros.

Not talking about installation, done that plenty of times, but im talking about gaining a legitimate amount of knowledge and understanding of it from the bottom up

LFS. If that's too daunting then (unironically) install gentoo and try to understand every part of the guide.

In that case you may actually want to install Gentoo.

But it'd really help if you had some specific thing you wanted to learn about and some motivation for doing so, instead of just a vague desire to know more about a broad topic. Look for some kind of project you can do that you'll need to learn something for. Home-server kind of stuff might be good. Set up Samba and build a NAS. Set up SSH access from the outside and secure it. If you want to learn about your distro of choice's package management, package one of your own programs and set up a local repo for it. etc.
