I have an MSI z270 gaming pro carbon and used to have only one 8GB stick (single channel).
Wanted to do dual channel and so I added another 8GB. Both rams are Corsair vengeance LPX 2666mhz. I put the first one in slot 2 and second one in slot 4. Now that I added this new 8GB ram, Speccy says this "bad allocation". CPU-Z tho confirms the dual channel 16GB.
Did I do something wrong or Speccy is a bit fucked?

Just for the simple reason I want to minimize my digital footprint. I despise the idea of corps making money off of my personal information and I want to use the web as undetected as possible.

As for my next build, it's complete but I'm not sure what exactly you want to know aside from raw specs so:

My motherboard cant use more than 8gb, can have a single 8gb stick or four 2gbs, anything that exceeds it gets unused. Mines over ten hears old though, and its unlikely yours has the same restrictions(i dont feel like looking it up) but food for thought incase

The k suffix just means the cpu is unlocked and capable of overclocking, if you dont plan on overclocking then you can save some money there

OK, so I've nearly finished updating Hydrus network with the tags from the public repository. Now what? How do I tag my files automatically? Whenever I import files it doesn't automatically tag them? The FAQ doesn't explain how I am supposed to get the program to tag my files automatically even though it says its possible.

Well, most games are pretty lax on CPU load, and that i5 should emulate everything I want to pretty easily. I do like options though, so it'll come down to what the total cost is.

Im trying to recover the data off of a 750 GB WD blue HDD but when i plug the drive into a SATA to USB adapter (tested and works so its not the adapter) it either flashes for a while and then goes off or when it stays on i get (in windows) semaphore timeout period has expired.

even when i use HDD recovery programs it cant find the disk. the weirdest part to me is that if the drive is plugged in while booting my mobo freezes before showing the msi logo or the UEFI.

data was previously recovered with a bootable recovery program (forget the name) successfully but all the data is randomly labeled and not in any particular order. im unsure if this has affected the data on the drive.

in ubuntu the drive blinks a lot longer but is picked up by gnome-disks with unknown partitioning and 750 GB of free space. the drive is also not listed in nautilus, even as root, despite being assigned /sdb.

so im wondering about what this could possibly be and what i can do about it to get the data back.

if the drive is done for thats fine as a lot of the data was recovered but some is missing.

the drive was win 10 with only (i think) 1 partition.

It's not unending, since at worst it pulls in every package (though that won't actually happen), and package managers must be clever enough to detect cycles, such as by Dijkstra's algorithm.

I've got the opportunity to earn GBP with my company by replacing our ded server. I've already assembled the rig, and I'm installing Windows Server 2016 as we speak.

Now, for the hard part and where I need your help: How do I link the two computers (running Windows 10) that will gain access to this server to it?

The old server's purpose was to grant access to the accounting software. This happened through a "net use" command, opening the software remotely on both PCs. It was plugged to the company's network through a switch, which I assume would be my first step.

My Firefox randomly fucks up. I just woke my computer after the screen slept while I slept, and I come to find my FF:
-can't open new tabs
-has unusable addressbar
-has glitchy behavior with tabs, since tabs you've switch to after this glitch started remain white as if youre immediately looking at them, even though you've tabbed away from them
-broke clicking a tab to switch to it; have to use ctrl + tab/ ctrl + shift + tab instead
-breaks even switching to tabs sometimes, since it will display the contents of the tab you were just viewing, but interacting with it is broken
This shit happens to me all the time on the latest FF quantum. I was thankfully able to find an ss I took and posted of it last time it happened , since I'm typing this on my tablet. Anyway if I haven't asked a question yet, I guess I mean to ask, does this ever fix itself, and is this unique to my hardware, or anything? I just don't understand why it happens.

I am a full time Linux user and haven't used windows for 3-4 years. Use to legitimately purchase all my Windows OSs (XP, Vista, 7 and 8). I don't really see the point of purchasing an OS just for one dash cam program that I can't get to work properly in wine.

I would love to not spend another cent on Windows but feel Kinguin route would make it look like I just made a stupid mistake instead of out right pirating Windows.

When it comes to RAM, you just need enough. Look at your RAM usage, if you never come close to 8GB RAM usage, you don't need more RAM.

If you're unsure, test your RAM overnight using MemTestX86. 8 hours should uncover any bad sectors. If the RAM is boinked, get a replacement. If you're able to use more than 8GB of RAM without a problem and testing seems fine, you're good to go.

You could use the userscript version with Tampermonkey or similar
