I don't get, that's pretty much any modern AMD CPU with the stock heatsink

Imagine those temperatures without any HSF at all. And yes, I remember my trusty 486SX-25. Overclocked nicely to 33MHz when I strapped a heatsink (no fan) to it.

max ive seen it pull at 100% is around 75-80 around 3.95ghz

I remember my i7 920 Overclocked to 4.0Ghz running at 90c if that's what you're talking about

Now imagine having the computing power of 1000 of these shits in the same size, and all you need is a small fan to cool it.

You can thank intel for being cheap and using thermal jizz instead of solder after the 2000 series for desktop and doing the same for i9 CPUs.

I changed my 2500k for a 2700x three weeks ago. Did thermal test this weekend and didn't expect the 2700x to run so cool. 2h 100pct load on 2700x with Hyper Evo 212 = 54C max.

Same on my 2500k would be a toasty 87C.

Pleasantly surprised. The application of fresh thermal compound might have something to do with it.

Speccy reads 102C on my 2700x in reality it is 49C.
