Except for privacy it's very decent. It's much better than most of early microsoft releases.

I like it.

That explains a fucking lot.

what is linux

Which previous Windows had these issues?

Don't want to make my own thread for this so I'm just gonna post it here. I use both WIndows and Linux for different purposes, and have nothing but problems when it comes to wifi on Windows. I had a laptop with windows 8 years ago that had internet problems, would constantly disconnect me and be down for 20-30 minutes at a time often. I eventually installed linux on it and never had a single problem with wifi dropping again. A year later I built a desktop and decided to try Windows 10 LTSB (because my cpu is too new for windows 7) and I am having the exact same problems with wifi. Anyone else experience anything like this?

LTSB doesn't have this problem.

It is actually the most powerful and robust OS. It's the only OS even close for being used on any computer. Privacy issues are a joke. MS is not Google (although it is trying to be).

POO

only thing i encountered from that list is audio problem, but that was actually a privacy update to prevent global microphone access. so... what's the problem? did you get blamed by your parents for "breaking" the computer and is now mad at m$?

LTSB is pretty on par with 7, I find.

Tried using regular 10 first and I wanted to remove my brain.

Comfortably the best version of Windows ever released.

Indeed.
But loonix still doesn't have the application I need.
Muh games and, as much as I hate it, MS office (non cloud-scam)

It's not bad. The spyware shit makes it unusable tho...

IN
CPU

Seems he got demoted after the vista trainwreck, though.

can windows update be disabled with LTSB?

All previous windows releases had those issues. They were just released before a time everyone was on social media ready to talk about exactly what went wrong.

Social media has been around and normal for well over 10 years. Nice try pajeet.

>Privacy issues are a joke
Spotted the MS employee

Sure, but absolutely not to this extent. Ignoring this shift in how people communicate is pretty silly. People are complaining about everything now far more than ever. One person bitching about a niche issue becomes an overblown panic due to twitter putting it in their moments section, people spamming Jow Forums threads, reddit threads being upvoted, etc. It's all become exceptionally easy to manipulate and pretend something small is a MAJOR issue concerning billions. Heck, that's how social justice garbage pretends like it matters.

But I mean, I can see you weren't looking for actual discussion and just wanted someone to say "no you're totally right, every viewpoint you've ever had is entirely correct, thank you user windows is garbage!"

I agree with your point. To be fair friendster and myspace became prevalent around 2004. So yeah a little over 10 years. Again I agree with you thought in regards to Windows 10 being turd ferguson

it just gets security updates, so its no more or less stable than Windows 7 for example.

It doesn't let you disable the security updates permanently

>Breaks audio
No it doesn't, it has the best audio support windows ever had. Stop using shit, if you had UAC 1.0 or 2.0 complaint device you would not have problems.
In fact, windows 10 (with creators update) is first time ever that microsoft is not 10 years behind in audio compared to linux or osx.

>Requires 8GB not to be slow as fuck for basic tasks
It's more efficient than 7 and in general faster.

>reddit threads being upvoted
I know nothing of this trend. I'd venture to guess not many Jow Forumsents would either. The only thing good that ever came out of reddit was their co-founder, Aaron Swartz and the US government killed him.

oh look it's the faggot that signs all of his shit posts and breaks global rule 13 on a regular basis. Remember snowflake, this isn't reddit. The format here is anonymous.

Every Windows 10 user has faced at least one of these issues, where as this was something that may happen occasionally. In workplaces where 7 is used, I did not encounter constant OS issues like we do with 10.

Ironic shitposting is still shitposting, user.

Seriously I've had no problems with Windows 10. The creators update which took a damn hour but that's it.

At least I'm aware of the rules and don't consider my own opinion superior to others to the point where I'm driven to sign my shit posts

On a scale from 1 to Chris Chan, exactly how autistic are you?

stay on topic please unless you'd like to repeat what happened to you on reddit...

Yeah it has other problems.

It's pretty bad,but Mac OS is just a hair worse.

Windows 10 is the problem. How old is that build anyway? It's been shilled for sometime now.

Wouldn't using free BSD be the best work around for Mac OS?

It got updated a few weeks ago, which made my personal shitfuck LTSB installation to display that fucking 'Activate Windows' watermark. I have everything turned off as far as updates go. LTSB still phones home though and will check to see if your version is current or not, if it isn't you will have to install the necessary update to get rid of that shit.

Its fucking garbage. Luckily I can install Windows 7 on my machine, and all of them in fact. I will never understand people who buy laptops in particular which were released during Windows 8-10. I cannot imagine buying and assembling a desktop which is forever bound to Windows 10 or loonix.

I'm pretty sure you should be able to block the phone home in your HOSTS file on your router.

> I cannot imagine buying and assembling a desktop which is forever bound to Windows 10 or loonix.

Dual booting or VM's should be a solid work around.
>should be
although I'm not sure how convenient or practical that is for some users.

No, we're just curious. You seem like the guy who told on kids in class, and then hid behind your autism when they all call you out for being an asshole.

It is the worst OS in the history of Windows NT family.
But no matter how many issues it has, it is still waaay better than any screen tearing, overheating, power sucking, kiddie ricing, server running GNU OS

see

that's not vista

I can't even tell which is worse anymore. At least MS has been updating 10 in rabid fashion. I remember the incompatibility of Vista and some hardware went weeks before being addressed by MS.

>the absolute state of the janitor
Yes, let's stay on the topic of discussing the indisputable fact that W10 is the worst thing in the world, as brought to us by the 20th identical topic the autistic fuck of an OP has posted this week alone.

Attached: o-MAN-FIRE-SOCCER-900.jpg (900x1352, 410K)

I think it's prudent to discuss these technical issues regarding the absolute state of technology and Windows 10 and it's implications on business and hobbyist's alike.

The truth is, if a company which is committed to spying on you while providing you with proprietary software, you will be in a never ending game of whack-a-mole with your OS. It really is time to switch to *NIX.

based

However, modifying your HOSTS file is common practice with blocking unsolicited incoming and or outgoing connections over ones network.

Old fag here.

Anyone who says 10 sucks does not remember the days of Windows ME or 95.

If you had told me, in 1999, that 20 years from now I'll be able to use drivers from previous Windows OSes, alongside it automatically downloading drivers over Internet (something Vista was able to do and some of that functionality started in the NT kernel) not to mention some of the other stuff 10 can do, and that it was free when it first dropped (and you can get the ISO from Microsoft and a 5 dollar key on eBay and legally own it) I would have laughed you out of my room.

10 has it's flaws, no OS is perfect, but it's one of the better releases in their history now that I have learned how to use it. 10 was the first OS I upgraded to the day it was released, if you don't count Longhorn as a release.

>Post OC
>hurr 20 times this week
The only thing that gets posted 20 times a week relating to Windows 10 is newfag retards going "WAHHHHH MY WINDOWS 10 BROKE AGAIN". And that should be in the Stupid Questions Thread. Fuck off newfag.

You'd have to thank the people who do Group Policy where I work.

t. Underage LARPer. I bet you made that thread about VHS superiority.

>lol guise windooze 10 is shit amirite lmao ecks dee
>OC

Unironically end yourself.

Don't forget Windows ME and 98 before SE.

That was before anyone here except you was born, boomer. Nobody cares.

It's not what you say, it's how you say it. No one else had the balls or brains to call it "The worst operating system in the history of operating systems.", and where are all these threads anyway? If this is really such a common occurrence, where are all the threads?

We had an identical thread full of the same pointless blathering just yesterday, you autistic clown.
warosu.org/g/thread/S66327682

Jow Forums, stop act like a retard.

Windows 10 is a hoax. Anyone who tells you it's real is a liar. I tried it and it doesn't work.

>VHS
>superior

kek, did anyone screenshot it I need a good laugh today

>Some dumb faggot asking a stupid question
>Thread for intellectual discussion calling Windows 10 out for what is
These are the exact opposite of each other. You couldn't have found a worse example. Maybe if you learned some reading comprehension instead of spending calling people autistic for not being a retard like yourself.

98 before SE wasn't horrible but it was nowhere near the clusterfuck that ME was. 98 pre-SE would have been good if Microsoft slipstreamed USB drivers into the installation.

Back in high school, most of our school computers had 2000 on them, but the CAD computers for some reason had ME on them (with AutoCAD R14, which was a recipe for disaster) and it was nothing once a week for it to randomly crash or seize up in the middle of a render. We were taught how to export parts of a .dwg so that if it crashed we didn't lose all our work.

Later in the program they put 2000 on all of them and upgraded to AutoCAD 2000 and that combination was much more stable but it could still crash on high poly renders, they did all of these upgrades but only had 256mb RAM on PIII 500mhz lol

My father has 4gb on a dual-core Thinkpad T60p and it's reasonably fast enough once it loads. It's only slow if it's loading from a cold boot and not from standby. Even I was impressed how well it ran on a Core 2 Duo.

Cool. Now try running Microsoft office and browsing the web on a modern browser. I do this on my work laptop and it's using 50% memory with 8GB. Luckily it has a nvme SSD to do swapping.

ME and 95 weren't perfect by any means, but i've used both of them for a good couple years each, and can honestly say i've found 10 more painful to use than those
ME specifically i think gets shat on way too much, i think people are unfairly comparing it to 2000, which came out earlier, making ME seem like a step backwards, while 2000 is a more solid system for sure, ME i found no worse than 98SE, and it introduced things like zip folders and usb mass storage drivers ootb

I can run office on a fucking Athlon XP if I had to, my T61 / 4gb can do all of that shit just fine when it has to. I put Firefox on it and the only webpage that really bogs it down bad is Jewbook. His T60p also has an SSD in it so that seems to help.

If your work laptop is using 50 percent memory to do all of that then it must really suck. Even my old T61 is only using 50% of 3gb and it has a spindle drive to swap with and it's fine. I built it for retro gaymen on the road and as a backup for my E6520 with 4c8t i7 and 16gb, I drive a truck and use this for my taxes and trip planning.

I wouldn't put 10 on something like a T61 for a daily user, my Dad wanted it for an Arduino project he did at work, and to learn 10, but on something newer it's fine.

Bullshit. I've been using windows for 18 years now and never had an update break shit. Used XP, Vista, 7 and 10. Vista sucked and the other 3 have been amazing.

The things I've heard about linux on the otherhand.. Updates constantly causing shit to break, poor compatibility with a lot of programs and games, having to input a seperate command during installation to get your network card working or needing a windows emulator to play certain games.

Like jesus christ, linux is an absolute mess. Why the fuck doesn't it install network drivers automatically and give you the option to remove them later? Probably the more popular distros do, but arch doesn't afaik.

I don't know what happens after 8.1.

8.2 or 8.11

Attached: file.png (200x193, 32K)

Give me advice how to make 8.1 the best.
What I should delete and change?

Attached: 1500312013428.png (500x505, 342K)

I thought Windows 8 was unbeatable but at least it didn't become worse over time

With Windows 10 you never know by how much your computer will be worse off after the update, but you know it's gonna be worse in some way

Is Jow Forums even able to provide valid arguments against Win10?
>muh forced updates
They can be disabled in the home group settings. No, it doesn't take reg edits or other bullshit.
>muh forced shutdowns
If you update, how about you properly schedule your updates? Let your PC do that stuff while you're asleep.
>muh broken updates
Oh yeah. Those mysterious broken updates, that only Jow Forums users, who argue against Windows, experience.
>muh privacy
What the fuck are you doing on the internet, if your privacy is so damn important? Also friendly reminder, that only terrorists and pedophiles care about that stuff.

Face it. Windows 10 is easy to use, efficient and offers compatibility for all the software you'll ever need.

t. Pajeet Jow Forums devision, special forces of shilling

Great arguments. I stand corrected.

Why don't you post all of your personal data here if you don't care about privacy?

>what are 7, xp, 98, me...

>purchase something on the MS store
>OMFG THEY STORED MY NAME AND MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION (MASKED) THIS IS TERRIBLE!

I'm still waiting for your dick pics

Only after every user, who would see it, provide a privacy agreement, telling me how they'd use my data.

Thats worst ones are windows 98 first edition and windows vista.

I have the choice not to use a company's services, just as I have the choice not to deliberately hand out all my info to you. The difference is that I trust the company's terms, but I don't trust you.

But only pedos and terrorists care about that stuff, dude. Just give use your info.

Use 8.1 embedded industry pro
>download eval iso from their webpage, and use related eval product key while installing
>Use WSUS Offline Update (security updates only) + last version of Classic Shell (4.3.1?)
>Disable services and features you don't need, as well as defender (future updates will prevent you from disabling it; in this case, nuke it using a linux live session)
>Before running wsus, enable the .net 3.5 feature otherwise it's impossible to get later
>After you notice the November 2014 update rollup install, you can disable winstore and onedrive by renaming/deleting FileManager and WinStore in C:\Windows respectively
>Watch the next 93 updates go by
>Activate with KMSauto or similar
I made an 8GB system image after the above and now it's my go-to for future installs.

t. windows 7 obsoleted shitter

1.5 years left.

They can't be disabled on regular versions
The updates get scheduled for you if you don't see it. If I have my pc running basically 24/7 but I'm only home to sit down at it (and not in dire need of sleep or food) like, maybe, 5 hours tops of 24
If the "schedule a time" and reminder things come up while I'm not at it I'm fucked when I return.
I haven't had many broken updates, even fewer that haven't been fixable with >reinstall a device
Or
>Reboot
But my mom has had printers double triple shit themselves as well as outlook and I've had some graphical fuckeyness that doesn't resolve until the next update
>>Muh privacy
Being anti rights doesn't make you cool nigga
My looking at snake brap, scat, snuff, loli, bestiality, deepfake, Isis porn is my business. If da gubment suspects something they get permission and then they get to know what my deepest secrets are. Why the fuck should M$ get to know?
You do know that most people commit at least a few offences a day right? It doesn't really matter, but if someone knew every moment of your life and wanted to fuck you, for any reason, you'd already be fucked.
>Compatibility
Lol a website at a job I had between 2014-2016 literally didn't work with w10 and updates to chrome regularly broke it so the solution was "keep using w7 and IE"
It was like the national health doc site or something, the owners got real fucking mad after one of their PC's updated to w10 (remember how the X wasn't a "fuck off" button but a "alright please go ahead" one according to ms?) And they didn't contact anyone since "oh it's not critical you can walk across the building and up the stairs if you really have to" so they never asked anyone who would've known that you can rollback in 30 days
