GDPR is a scam

Social democrats, socialists, libertarian leftists, privacy advocates, everyone is jizzing in their pants and saying that this is a miracle and how good it is.

Daddy EU has saved us from Evil Corporations.

This regulation is a horrible assault on freedom and freedom of speech on the internet, while also having little effect on privacy.

In fact this regulation is a blatant scam, leftists have promoted it, but I view nothing positive about it at all, all of it will backfire and it will have extremely negative consequences on the free internet.

Don't get me wrong I am a 100% privacy advocate, and yet I am the only one against this regulation, for very simple reasons.

Basically all this will do is just destroy small internet businesses. Your local pomp & mom store selling merchandise online, your local fast food, every single small business will be decimated. They will either have to block EU citizens, or if the are in the EU they will have to close down their websites because the risks will not be worth it.

I mean I guarantee you most websites will now simply dissapear and it will centralize the control of the internet into the hands of a few megacorporations, since they won't be affected.

It looks like the EU is now cleaning out small websites. I mean it's just very evil. Capitalism is getting destroyed and the EU starts to become like a Soviet Union 2.0.

All small websites will dissapear in the EU and we will be left with these giants.

Pierre Proudhorn wrote back in the 19 century that you can't tax or regulate equality into existence because that will only create a bureaucratic class and inflict more pain into the working class.

Every single fucking regulation is like this, no exceptions. Now I guarantee you in the next 10 year, most websites will dissapear or go underground because of this.

The era of the free internet is over as of today, and the Communist China style net censorship is active in the EU.

cool blog

>Your local pomp & mom store selling merchandise online
kek
Cool story OP.

The bill for not being compliant is far less salty for small companies also.

Shills leave

Hi shill.

no u

>destroy small internet businesses
>assault on freedom of speech

read the regulation before you start crying, fucking brainlet.

Local pop and mom stores do not collect personalized information on the internet. And if they did, all they have to do is show a prompt that they do and ask for your consent, as well as allow you to see that data and delete it on request.

Would rarely happen of course, since they are not big at all, which is why personalized ads aren't a viable way to monetize their site.

It has literally zero effect on free speech. Everything they want to say, they can still say, no censorship.

Fuck off OP, you don't care about the freedoms of other people, and you would like to be able to make money off of people's private interests, by tracking them without their consent. You're a horrible person.

I'm a leftist, in America, but implementing all the shit to be GDPR-compliant was the biggest pain in the ass.

Fuck GDPR.

You're retarded. GDPR is objectively good for the everyone. You're thinking of Article 13, which is an actual thing that violates free speech and taxes every business, which will cause closure of smaller websites.

This is why education of americunts sucks. They know shit.

>tfw you now have to allow cookies for sites in order to even access them as this law change requires them to give you a prompt you have to accept before being allowed access to the site
It's shit

For your convenience, I've parenthesized above all the reasons you need to go back.
There were very many. It was hard.

go back to Jow Forums you dumb computer-illiterate doomsday retard or whatever the fuck you're LARPing today.

>Basically all this will do is just destroy small internet businesses.
Then maybe they shouldn't mine my data?
If they don't respect my privacy, then fuck them

The problem I have with GDPR is that these companies only have your data because you gave it to them. If the EU wanted to help protect people's privacy they should have just started an initiative to educate people on how to protect themselves online, instead of the typical boomer approach of just legislating shit. It's also bullshit that one single authority has this much power, being able to punish an entity that's not even in the EU just because EU citizens can connect to their server(s) is fucking ridiculous. I'm a Britbong who voted remain, but GDPR and Article 13 have put me firmly in the leave camp. Fuck the EU.

thanks user you're a hero

>you gave it to them
wrong
they were using everything they can to track what you do, bypassing adblock and disconnect or whatever else you were using
now they just can't do that or if someone finds out they will get a fine

tl;dr: muuh small businesses

The GDPR is part of Europe's effort to control other countries. This will not be allowed to continue. Get you euro coins now: they will be collector's items after the breakup of the EU.

EU will colapse soon under its own shit.

They are collector items even now in many EU countryes.

Surprising

Can someone explain why small mom and pop businesses need to harvest all your data to survive?

an*

You're fucking retarded. It has nothing to do with education, companies were doinf whatever they could to make money off you no matter how security compromising it could be. Whether that be going around Adblock, using monero miners, using deceptive adversing links, (even fucking Google has repeatedly let malware advertise on Google search results) etc. It had clearly gone too far, if companies didn'r want the hammer to come down then why were they acting so fucking evil? It's like EA and the lootbox regulation, like what did you expect to happen?

It's in the ToS, if you don't agree, then just keep out. No one's forcing you to use those sites. You are not entitled to anybody else's content. Learn some economics, you bullshit ass nigger.

>No one's forcing you to use those sites
Shut up, jew.

Except 99% of the time you never had to agree to a ToS or EULA to browse a website. You went on the website and they instantly started harvesting everything without telling you. You have no idea what you're talking about, Big Data was clearly an exploitation of consumer rights from the very beginning. You'd have to be a corporate shill or a Pajeet to disagree with the EU here.

Whatever, new york lesbian jew shill.

This isn't pol...

>all this will do is just destroy small internet businesses
And how is that, please explain. It won't have any effect on small businesses, retard. Unless they've been hoarding data on people for no reason.

>Capitalism is getting destroyed and the EU starts to become like a Soviet Union 2.0.

Late stage capitalism.

>Education
>Gave it to them
Man you are retarded.
You can have ublock origin and a VPN and your ass is still being tracked. Probably get tracked harder than normalfags because showing any concern is lighting a beacon to them.
The only way you can avoid giving these corporations your data is by not using the internet. In this new world that's suicidal.

Yea sure let's educate normies like we educated them on abstinence and smoking.

>like Doode just don't have a job no one is forcing you to find work or improve your life
Be realistic. Let's give everyone an education so they know that they're getting fucked. Let's give them no real option but to keep getting fucked.

>abstinence
Imagine being so much of an incel you think "teaching" others not to have sex is a good thing

>his default context of abstinence is about sex
fuck off, you bonobo monkey

Fuck off statist cuck.

> Negative votes
> Tries to use it some sort of /lefty/ meme
> pls don't

Leave it to the fully indoctrinated americlaps to oppose something like this

>he has no self-control
Imagine being so afraid of drugs you think "teaching" others not to take them is a good thing

You are one uneducated fuck. If I want to buy something of course I will give the necessary data to achieve that. But that is all. You can't sell that data to multiple other companies and bombard my inbox with shit and track me all over Internet until the end of time. And if I say I want my account removed, it needs to be removed not only from your database but also all people that you sold that data. Educated people care about privacy and you are just a fucking brainlet. Now piss off m8

>Britbong
>privacy
choose one

>b-but they're bypassing muh blockers
Of course they fucking are. They run a free site, how else do you expect them to make money you retarded commies? If you absolutely don't want your data tracked then don't visit the site, no one's forcing you to. You're like those retards who complain when their contraception didn't work; if you don't want to accept the risk that sex might result in a pregnancy then just don't have sex.

Tell us more about incel life user.

My mistake. Sorry for the grievous insult, user

I work as a developer and had to implement it. It's opposite od censorship. Username has right to delete data about him which he wants.

I'm not even going to real your poorly formatted shitpost. You're a retarded shill who doesn't even deserve the shekels that you're being paid for this post. Go fuck yourself with razor blades and eat broken glass.

Attached: 1528575110479.jpg (513x510, 59K)

Reddit is actually celebrating GDPR, user. Get your facts straight.

The GDPR is Europe attempting to tell the rest of the world what to do.

3, 2, 1...

Attached: 1528620842167.jpg (1680x1304, 158K)

>He tries to justify spying, gathering personalized data and tracking as a freedom that doesn't need to require consent
Nice going jew.

Why is it always the left looking out for our privacy, anons?

seriously, the EU is so fucked. Since when have conservatives wanted bigger government?

Politics are spooks. This is the ultimate redpill.

Attached: 1488302008777.png (818x1100, 875K)

>Since when have conservatives wanted bigger government
Since circa 1100CE.

As an American, a frequent Jow Forums user, and a Trump voter, fuck you. GDPR is a good thing, although article 13 is fucking retarded.

Its very simple to not get buttfucked by the ICO, you design your software to actually respect your users by default, you only take the information you need, you actually tell the user what you're doing with it, and you don't do anything beyond that with it.

Instead of having no option at all to delete your data, or a button that just sets status_id=0 on your account, you setup a real deletion mechanism so the user can leave your service whenever they want, without picking up the phone or emailing you.

>I'm a statist and I approve of GDPR
Color me surprised.

>conservatives and far right are now the statists and leftists are the anti statists
Damn I love politics and the faggots trying to pick a side.

Attached: 1512223082057.jpg (960x800, 50K)

>far right are now the statists
As it has always been. This isn't some new development.

>The GDPR is Europe attempting to tell the rest of the world what to do.

How is that possible when America invented and runs the Internet?

Why is Europe so important to you cucks that you keep have to whine and complain about us, even though supposedly you don't care about us at all?

>keep have to whine and complain
Self-esteem issues is what.

Yeah. For a consumer the only shitty thing about GDPR is that it can inconvenience you because sites make it really obnoxious to deal with, making it a redux of the useless cookie accepting shit.

Why are you people so mad that people actually... gain rights?
"It's in the ToS, if you don't agree, then just keep out"

ToS are not above the law, thankfully.

This is distinct from GDPR. Article 13 is bad, GDPR is good.

Also a handy chart next time people push conservatives for freedom of speech.

>Daddy EU has saved us from Evil Corporations.
more like
>Daddy EU has saved us from endless columns of autoplay and popup ads whenever we want to read a paragraph of content
