When the surface area is the entire laptop such techniques aren't really necessary or desired (see: chunky laptops), there's a long copper plate running over the CPU/GPU combo in the middle with two fans at either side and contacts where the copper hits the unibody, this is really not different to other laptops in the same price range which have absolutely no fins.

Sketch was doing tons of innovative stuff that existing industry standard (See: Adobe) didn't do, they took a good chunk of market share just from being the first bit of dedicated ux software on the market, we switched to Mac because it was the best tool available for our needs, it was that point where we joined the Apple eco system, not the other way round.

Stuff becomes industry standard by being the best, if I joined another company I would expect them to provide me with a Mac for Sketch if I was doing web, the full Adobe Suite if I were doing anything else because they are the expected standard in the industry.

i have the most budget shitty piece of plastic shit 300$ Acer Aspire from like 2007 that has been used a lot and still gets turned on almost every day and works as brand new (except for a dead battery due to age).

mildly used (~300 hours in hdd report) 2010 maxed out Macbook Prolapse i got from employer had a GPU failure within 3 months of use and after like 8 months sitting in backpack the battery turned into a fuckin balloon and while bending the case it wrecked the keyboard and trackpad. rossman described the mass manufacturing fault GPU failure for that model (and 2 others) in that 'think different' video.
