>don't have to move your arm to move the cursor
I wonder too

Add
>don't have to drag, lift, drag, lift, drag, lift, drag to move the cursor
Touchpads are cancer.

it was better than a touchpad imo.

It's the only mouse on my laptop, once you get used to it it's piss easy.

Shit taste
Good taste
Finishing taste

>Good taste
You might disagree if you knew my laptop

>typing in keyboard
>needs a mouse function
>uses the nipple to move the mouse cursor
>taps using click using thumb
>without lifting your hand in the keyboard

Try me.
I loved LOVED my IBM R40 2682CAG with it's TrackPoint.

I've had: notebookcheck.net/Sony-Vaio-VGN-NR38Z-S.13505.0.html

I bought this for $80 amazon.com/HP-13-2150nr-Spectre-Ultrabook-Silver/dp/B009AU2JT6
Lovely little thing but no TrackPoint. :/

Apologies for the low quality image, my curtains are drawn.

Tiny-chan.

Imagine how uselessly big it had to be if they had to have a touchpad on it.

exactly, at least it's a touch screen though, really improves general use and navigation. It had bad reviews for the keyboard layout but i have no problems typing on it. Here's the speccy. GPD Pocket.

I can't wait for their new one, will have a core m3 finally, coming out soon. Rumour has it they dropped the trackpoint. I won't buy it if they did...

It only took me a few hours, are you disabled?

You usually need to lower the sensitivity else you get blisters and carpal tunnel.

What the fuck?
No.

It took about a week.
At one point I played the entire original Assassin's Creed on it in one playthrough. Took 8 hours. Finger hurt like hell.

bought a new used Thinkpad x201 one month ago. Ordered a trackpoint from the slowboat from china to make it complete.

How you get used to it? USE IT and just keep using it for a few days. You'll find it's extremely more comfortable and efficient with the trackpoint mouse buttons rather than the integrated trackpad nonsense.

There is quite literally no reason to use a ThinkPad, it's a giant meme created by children without wills.

There was a time that ThinkPads didn't have touchpada

I have the willpower and courage, what laptop should I use?

>doesn't know how to work a clit
kek

did you get the X210 motherboard?
the i5-540M in my X201 ran super fucking hot, getting the X210 conversion kit made it a lot nicer to use.

Are you 80 years old? Or using a trackball mouse?

Turn the sensitivity up a bit on your mouse and you don't have to waste so much effort.

I'm hoping that gpd can make the win3 with a 7nm ryzen+navi soc. Would literally replace my phone at that point

Its not bad if you use the trackpoint for things like

>In lap use
>Highlighting
>Scrolling through webpages

But if I need to be actually precise with my mouse the trackpad is better

t430s btw

AMD needs to get their idle power consumption sorted out.
There's a Lenovo Idea with both AMD Ryzen and Intel 8th gen versions, and while load performance is better on AMD, Intel gets 3x the video/web browsing battery life.

use the index finger on the red button and thumb for the 3 buttons above the mouse pad. Do this for a week and report back

You're probably using the wrong one. Cats tongue master race.

ok i have carpal tunnel now thanks

You buy an elitebook for glorious glass touchpad

This, its great, I wish windows surface pc’s had it

Whatever came with the Lenovo Thinkpad X201? It's all stock intel i5 except for the operating system, which was upgraded to windows 10 Pro from 7.

Runs quietly, cool, and responsive. The keyboard is a dream. The TrackPoint is beautiful.

Bought mine with the ultrabay. Cool $100 for both the laptop and the ultrabay..

The only problem i've had with it is getting a compatible video driver for windows 10 to run graphics accelerated videogames. Other than that, it's the best laptop I've ever owned.

I have and X220 and literally never use it, the touchpad is much more comfortable for me.

if you can't use one you're basically admitting you can't please a woman with your hands

it turns me on.

Are they durable? Mine works, hardly use it, but I've come across them where they're stiff and non-functional.

you have weak girly hands

Your reply is par for the course. Over several years of dropping by Jow Forums on and off to poke around. I think that I've only ever got an actual answer to a question like literally once. Meanwhile I just left another thread where serious discussion had been going on about whether one ought to write one's own html parser as good dev practice. Don't ever change Jow Forums.

Is he wrong?

Get stronger fingers and come back

I find it easier with my left hand for what it's worth. I tried for a year with the right at first and it just felt awful.

I usually just remove it and chew on it, it helps me calm my anxiety when in the middle of class taking notes during a lecture

hahahhahah

>what is ergonomics

It's better than touchpad.
Since there are no Trackballs in laptops anymore, that's the best technology available currently.

I didn't have to really. It feels natural to use as any mouse

It never got comfy for me.

Difference between touchpoint and trackpad is as big as trackpad and mouse.

>Turn the sensitivity up a bit
Losing accuracy
>on your mouse and you don't have to waste so much effort.
>mouse
The mousepad can't go from one corner to another without sacrificing accuracy.
Trackpoint doesn't have this problem.

Doing work that demands a lot of mouse pointer movement is total cancer with a mousepad.

Mouse>Trackpoint>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>touchpad

once you disable the trackpad you will get used to it

Disabled the trackpad for a week and you will never go back.

>accidental taps and swipes don't fuck up what you're typing
>works great in confined areas like cars
>doesn't need to take up half of your device to be good

A thinkpad

I'd rather buy an elitebook for the expandability
Or a clit mouse if we're comparing it to other laptops
