So hey Jow Forums my video card is very dated, I'm currently running a Sapphire ATI HD 6950 2GB but its like an 8 year old card and struggles to run current games. I found an MSI Radeon RX 580 DirectX 12 RX 580 ARMOR MK2 8G OC 8GB 256-Bit for $300
Im wanting to upgrade my video card but also dont want to break the bank. I did a little reaserch on it and it seems to get good reviews and seems to be MUCH better then what im running. one of the reviews I read said with it he runs Metro last light on ultra at like 50 FPS. just as a benchmark.
What would you recommend thats reasonably priced for an upgrade

It's meant to convey that user wants a new gpu but can't afford one, so he pretends his old shit gpu is still fine for him.
Therefore, validating his shitty existence.

Thats what I thought. I am fully aware that the card I listed itsnt top of the l;ine, I just dont want to break the bank.
Im looking for a good card for a decent price. Something that will keep me going for a few more years. Example, (not saying I want to but an example) Id like to be able to run say, The Division 2 or Fallout 76 on High/Med that should be able to keep me going for a few years.
For 1080p gaming it should easily last 4 years. The RX580 8GB is overall a slightly better card than the 1060 6GB. Power consumption is a bit higher, but it performs slightly better, has more VRAM and way better linux drivers.
Thanks! Yeah im not worried about anything more then 1080, hell ive been running 720 the past several years haha! So far its seems like the 580 is gonna be my best bang for my buch.
Thanks man! if this wasnt a SFW board id post some thank you hentai (cause anime tiddies are da bess) I think this should qualify as SFW
If you stick to 1080p and don't mind lowering settings in the future, the 580 should be plenty. But if you plan on getting a 1440p or 2160p screen the 1070 would be a good idea. Look up some benchmarks and decide for yourself.
Get a GTX 780 or a Radeon 7970, they are almost as powerful as an rx 580 and cost 20-30% as much.

Yeah I am running a GTX 960 too, picked it up before the mining craze back in May 2017 for only $70

You have to go back.

This basically. An R9 290 or R9 390 would also be a good idea. The only down side is that they eat a good deal more power, but are still solid performers.
