tmux, i3 is for faggots

Both

Neither

Used to be a fan of them, but I found out that Screen/tmux don't play well with vim/neovim when pressing Esc. Super annoying, even with user fixes.

Nonetheless, I miss tmux's power and versatility.

what are these fixes?
I'm new and its getting really hard to be productive with this shit in the way.

You can just look up "tmux vim escape delay" and you'll find a whole bunch of posts offering weak solutions that turn down tmux's escape delay. The problem is that, even at 0 delay, it's still there, and it can make you feel like you're going crazy when you quickly escape out of a mode, type a Vim command, and yet Vim will still think you were in your old mode (because it hasn't received the Esc yet).

personally I just tile bcuz too lazy to learn tmugs
also its more aesthetic to tile in i3-gaps than using tmux or screen

why not just reassign the [esc] for tmux?

terminal multiplexer in tty, window tiler with X

lol

Isn't it more ergonomical to use Ctrl + [ instead of ESC anyway? Especially if you have a skill to push CTRL with you palm (also it is the only sane way to use Emacs keybindings).

Rebind caps lock?

gnu screen all day every day

Tiling window manager on local machine, tmux when using ssh. Don't needlessly cripple yourself and use the most comfortable tool for the job.

tmux-gaps when

>smart enough to use vim and tmux

Tmux. I use a tiling wm but I never have more than one window per workspace.

Vim works fine with tmux, it's neovim that has bugs.

i3wm or GNU Screen (for TTY/SSH).
So, basically, both.

Windows 10 Desktop Windows Manager is the best
